If you eat a lot, your stomach bloats bigger and bigger because it gets used to eating a lot, so when you eat healthily, the bloating reduces and you don't need so much to get full.

Jackie, I don't think you mean to say that people should drink twice as much water. There are a lot of people who are already well hydrated. And some people get obsessed with water drinking, also unhealthy. Maybe it's enough to say that people could try drinking a glass of water when they first feel hungry and see if the feeling goes away. If it does, great!

@bowetteloom you know I get a lot of comments like this, and what I think most people dont realize is that asians actually have higher body fat than Caucasians. Our frame is smaller, but thats pretty much it. That and I am actually pretty stocky, so I don't believe that I have "excellent bone structure", my ideal isn't everyone else's ideal, and I dont think people should so quickly dismiss each other
@MszJackieChu That is very true. When it comes to a good body image it can vary when you look at a different ethnicity or even a different ideal. I think it comes down to how you feel and just being healthy. If you feel good physically and also on an emotional level, that is the happy medium. However, everyone can set that goal to whatever standard they feel best. :)
@bowetteloom it really is not a big deal at all. It doesn't matter who you are, eating a balanced diet is key to losing weight. If you eat something unhealthy one day, just eat healthily for the next day or 2. Your body is not going to produce 15 pounds of fat from one cake. Having unhealthy foods once in awhile is actually good for you. As long as you keep everything in moderation, and you keep your diet balanced, it's not a big deal at all.

@getfitwithnicole i think those calorie counts you stated are all underestimated. there's no way that the plate of rice + chicken + spinach salad is only 350 calories...
@satinsolstice actually that estimation is correct, the only incorrect thing about the comment she posted is implying that I undereat calorically. I don't encourage counting calories & I don't like people breaking down what I eat. She failed to even add in the coffee, with all that I add to it is close to 200 calories which sets me perfectly at about 1700 (which is what I need to maintain)+ she wasnt listening when i said I had boba 3-4x a week and eat freely whenever I go out (on weekends)
@satinsolstice at least if she wants to nitpick, do it correctly. Calories that you drink are calories too. -_- and its not like the meals/boba you drink outside of your normal diet are magically lifted away and not counted haha
but so you know for that meal you speak of spinach has pretty low calories (as do most veggies), I eat half a chicken breast per meal (bc theyre ginormous) and I only eat half a cup of brown rice or so because I am just not a fan of rice w/out curry or heavy sauces haha

@satinsolstice only way I know of to boost metabolism is working out, splitting up your meals in to smaller meals and getting a good night of rest. Btw I mention in the video that video is One day + One meal, I was trying to show how I switch up protein sources. It seems like a lot looking at it, but a lot of what I eat is veggies which..no one really gains weight from eating haha

I like to mash the bananas up in the oatmeal but does that like make the sugar more...sugary? Like how pressed fruit juices are super sugary from the fruit sugar.
@ShinyaWhore fruit juices are higher in sugar comparatively to fruit because its just the concentrated juice...so no mashing up a banana doesn't increase the sugar level in a banana
@Randamaye It's sriracha sauce, the best hot sauce in the world. You can buy it at almost any Asian market. You see it everywhere; Hawaiian restaurant, dorm dining commons, Safeway...
It don't have much additives and it don't have that vinegar taste that change the flavor of your food. Try it!

@boogster618 I'm not Jackie, but for me it helps to make some food beforehand and freeze it, or you could always eat something like half an avocado with almonds or a boiled egg with some pita bread. You can also just make those when you have time and keep it in the fridge, and it shouldn't go bad in just a couple of hours of being out of the fridge.
I don't think I could ever only eat "western" style meals! Meaning some proteins like chicken or fish, steamed veggies (yuck, lol) and a salad. I need my Asian food everyday. XD And if I don't eat Asian food, I tend to go for Mexican food, Italian food, Greek etc lol...

You eat 5 meals? 6 meals is more realistic and fulfilling :) This way you can have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and snack (dessert). Just a little hint.
SOme fish are high in mercury. Mercury can cause birth defects in a baby in utero. If you end up pregnant, and you are eating fish that have a high mercury content you are putting your child at risk. Most pregnancies aren't planned so.. There is a list of fish that are high and low and how often you should eat them. Google it.

Its not the calories but the poison stored in your fat cells that I worry. Pesticide in salads adds up over a life time but who can afford organic all the time? Fish farms force fish to live in small areas full of their own waste so they have to use pesticides. But most expensive is...water. Do you drink, cook straight out of the tap or use filtered water? In the morning, when I turn on the tap, the smell of chlorine is so strong it makes me sick so I use Pur filter but its very expensive.

@cloudlessnights7 if yout metabolism is really fat then you get hungrier more quickly than someone that doesnt have s quick metabolism. it is alot and she can afford to eat it because her body burns calories quickly. plus you have to factor in that she is a student and that she also exercises, which means that she needs more energy.

I feel so self conscious going to the Korean store in my city (we only have one Asian store), I get starred at because I'm not Asian.... I'm black... and I'm not skinny... and I have an afro. lol. So I get starred at like what are you doing here?! I'm sure it's unintentional but they kind of just make me feel like I don't belong...
@Mil714 I feel uncomfortable in Asian stores too and I'm 100% Asian. I feel like I get stared at too. I just ignore them. Just be assertive and confident in what you want when you're shopping! Asians just like to stare haha...
To stay healthy what I like to do is eat organic food.it really is better for u :) also I try to eat in moneration. Whenever I eat a sweet food or unhealthy snack what I do is I ask myself if it is worth it. Like I don't think it's worth it to eat French fries from mcdonalds or to eat some storebought cake. What's worth it is eating a homeade sweet or other food...it really tastes good and is worth it (but still remember to eat in moneration) hope I helped :)
Good video! I try 2 eat salmon but it get bored w/ the flavor.....whenever I was little (and kinda recently)whenever there was soda around I would drink it. yeah!! i agree that healthy food is so much more expensive than ordinary food. and they are so much harder to find! except if i cook it myself which is quite troublesome for my working environment. but thank God for Subways! at least i can get my healthy food there..

It don't have much additives and it don't have that vinegar taste that change the flavor of your food. Try it!

Hi Jackie! Thanks so much for this video! I'm looking to be healthier and needed some ideas. But as a student, I find it really hard to have healthy meals throughout the day. Do you prepare these before hand? What kind of snacks do you bring around with you when you're on the go? (because yogurt doesn't taste very good warm...=/) Thanks so much! =)

@boogster618 I'm not Jackie, but for me it helps to make some food beforehand and freeze it, or you could always eat something like half an avocado with almonds or a boiled egg with some pita bread. You can also just make those when you have time and keep it in the fridge, and it shouldn't go bad in just a couple of hours of being out of the fridge.

I don't think I could ever only eat "western" style meals! Meaning some proteins like chicken or fish, steamed veggies (yuck, lol) and a salad. I need my Asian food everyday. XD And if I don't eat Asian food, I tend to go for Mexican food, Italian food, Greek etc lol...

You eat 5 meals? 6 meals is more realistic and fulfilling :) This way you can have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and snack (dessert). Just a little hint.

SOme fish are high in mercury. Mercury can cause birth defects in a baby in utero. If you end up pregnant, and you are eating fish that have a high mercury content you are putting your child at risk. Most pregnancies aren't planned so.. There is a list of fish that are high and low and how often you should eat them. Google it.

Its not the calories but the poison stored in your fat cells that I worry. Pesticide in salads adds up over a life time but who can afford organic all the time? Fish farms force fish to live in small areas full of their own waste so they have to use pesticides. But most expensive is...water. Do you drink, cook straight out of the tap or use filtered water? In the morning, when I turn on the tap, the smell of chlorine is so strong it makes me sick so I use Pur filter but its very expensive.

@cloudlessnights7 if yout metabolism is really fat then you get hungrier more quickly than someone that doesnt have s quick metabolism. it is alot and she can afford to eat it because her body burns calories quickly. plus you have to factor in that she is a student and that she also exercises, which means that she needs more energy.

To stay healthy what I like to do is eat organic food.it really is better for u :) also I try to eat in moneration. Whenever I eat a sweet food or unhealthy snack what I do is I ask myself if it is worth it. Like I don't think it's worth it to eat French fries from mcdonalds or to eat some storebought cake. What's worth it is eating a homeade sweet or other food...it really tastes good and is worth it (but still remember to eat in moneration) hope I helped :)

im surprised such a young person like you knows so much about nutrition. i didnt care what i ate until i had my child. i used to get annoyed when i was working at an asian restaurant people would come in n worry about getting MSG in their food but they order diet sodas. to me that makes no sense. and they had no idea how much sugar Asian foods contain.
