Utah is sealing all of their abandoned mines. Now it's sad to hear that they are sealing caves. What a waste of money.

This Is Called Police State. Where No One Knows, and everybody Hollds. I am sorry for his familie, but that is not The best reason to Close Anything. I think that the experienced cavers who lived in the area, and who were familiar with Nutty Putty Cave should have been allowed to make the first attempts to free the young man that got stuck. The UVA student was in there for 28 hours and after the pulley system failed it didn't seem like the rescurers were agressively anxious to make any additional attempts to free the man or bring him out. Just my opionion
