After World War 1 (1914-1918) and at the Treaty of Versailles (1919) France recieved Alsace-Lorraine from Germany and when they recieved it they immediatly started a Francization campaigne where German was banned and French imposed and because of this there is no seperatism or language problems in Alsace-Lorraine. The solution is simple: let the free-market handle the language issue. It will balance the needs required by the population. If the majority of the population is french, the merchant will have advantages putting signs in french. It's not up to the government to force them.

You have no idea on how good the French Canadians were treated after the British took over New France in 1763 from the French. The British gave you people the Quebec Act of 1774 ensuring you Language, Relgious and Legal Rights and the Constittuion Act of 1867 which made both English and French as Co-Official Languages of both the Dominion of Canada and it's Province of Quebec. The Quebecois repaid the British and Canada back with Bill 101 and Company. You should be ASHAMED.

Well we have english courses starting from elementary school and I consider this couldn't be really bad for you to know at least 2-3 languages, no matter which ones. The French Quebecois should assimiliate into Anglo Canadians and the sooner it is done the better. After World War 1 (1914-1918) and at the Treaty of Versailles (1919) France recieved Alsace-Lorraine from Germany and when they recieved it they immediatly started a Francization campaigne where German was banned and French imposed and because of this there is no seperatism or language problems in Alsace-Lorraine. The same should happen to Quebec. Quebec should be Anglicized and be made English NOW

The solution is simple: let the free-market handle the language issue. It will balance the needs required by the population. If the majority of the population is french, the merchant will have advantages putting signs in french. It's not up to the government to force them.

The solution is simple: Replace Bill 101 (Charter of the French Language) that made the Province of Quebec a French Unilingual Province with Bill 199 (Charter of the French and English Languages) that will make the Province of Quebec a French-English Bilingual Province. The Province of Quebec must be a Bilingual and Bicultural and not a Unilingual and a Unicultural Province. The English and French Languages and Cultures should be equal in the Province of Quebec. This must be done.

You have no idea on how good the French Canadians were treated after the British took over New France in 1763 from the French. The British gave you people the Quebec Act of 1774 ensuring you Language, Relgious and Legal Rights and the Constittuion Act of 1867 which made both English and French as Co-Official Languages of both the Dominion of Canada and it's Province of Quebec. The Quebecois repaid the British and Canada back with Bill 101 and Company. You should be ASHAMED.

The community of Embrun and Russell together have 50% mother tongue english and 45% french mother tongue.
And then they say that the francophone are intolerant. This is in Canada Ontario in 2008 not germany in 1939.

I think the best way to promote bilingualism is scrap quebecs language laws first thing and education are priorities... One example is kids should learn french in english schools at the same time as kids in french school learning english... The more languages we learn the better educated we are, thats a true fact... Right now in Ontario they are not doing a good job at promoting french, one example is a seperate health clinic which i think is absurd because it's discrimination and segregation

I dont think the Monarchy of the Dominion of Canada will end when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II dies, in fact I believe it will be much stronger. Her Royal Highness the Dutchess of York has links with the Dominion of Canada, her ancestor was Sir Allan MacNab who was a Prime Minister of the Province of Quebec (1841-1867) from 1854-1856. Having a link with Canada will increase their popularity. I believe that the British Monarchy will be Canada's Monarchy for a long time to come.

The Province of Quebec needs more English Speakers to destroy these anti-English Laws like Bill 101. The populaiton of Anglo-Quebecers need to be restored back to 25%, 61% and 43% of the populaitons of the Province of Quebec, City of Montreal and City of Quebec respectivaly to ensure that such laws are appealed and anti-English bigot politicans like Pauline Maouris voted out. The more English Quebec gets the richer and happier it would be. Time for a Massive immigration of Anglophones to Quebec.

I do not understand why someone would move to a bilingual community, and then complain about French people. If you hate French people so much, then perhaps you should reconsider living in extreme eastern Ontario. It is the most French region in North America outside of Québec. The best advice to all of us who want to stop the Frenchification of the other Provinces of Canada is for Canada to Anglicise the Province of Quebec. We should encourage Millions of English Speakers from Anglo-Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand to make English the domminent Language in the Province of Quebec. It was a big mistake for the 1 Million Anglo-Quebecers to leave the Province and they must come back home with their families to rule Quebec.
