Brake + DSC lights come on only when your brake fluid level is low, it turns off DSC to prevent system overusing brakes and swallowing air when fluid level is low. I had honda civic for 4 years, and when i bought a e39 2002 530i, i needed some weeks to learn how to drive rear drive vehicle and DSC saved my life million of times. even once i was driving on frozen road and saw a collision ahead of me, i wont even dare to do such maneuver on honda, but 1800kg car did it perfectly

@Planeguy13 ASC+T and DSC are two different things. ASC is an electronic traction control system on the rear drive wheels. When power to a drive wheel overwhelms available traction between the road and the tire, the wheel will spin. ASC monitors this and can cut power and/or brake a slipping wheel until traction is restored, thereby keeping the drive wheels right at their limit of traction.

@Planeguy13 DSC is much more sophisticated. It includes all of the functionality of ASC, but can also detect and counteract over and understeer skids by braking individual wheels to bring a car back onto its intended path. We can thank BMW for being one of the first to pioneer this technology in 1995.

DSC is a piece of shit!!!! locked up my wheel and cut my power when i needed to peel out of a corner....instead, locked up the rear wheels and my car flew horizontally instead.

i know how to turn it off, The problem is that my DSC and BRAKE light stay on permanently until I turn of the car back on. tomorrow I am going to change the rotors because I just found out they bare warped....

The BRAKE and DSC light come on on my 330ci 2001, while I am driving. Does anybody know what is the solution?

@TigerOscar78 just push to the button to turn the light off. when the light comes on its usually cause of a road condition you just went thru, or maybe you swerved a bit, anything sudden you do the system monitors.

First of all, they are comparing non-stability control equipped competitors even though they were offered with stability control too. (Except the Volvo with STC)

Also, the BMW is driving slower, and in the other cars, the drivers turn later making the turn more sharp. It's also depending alot on throttle position since it's water - accelerate and car will drive ON it, decellerate and car will drive IN it

Maybe the guys who made this lack confidence in the BMW, since they cheated

@Darknessfailure the DSC DTC or w/e hey call it nowdays "turns" the gaspedal "off" when it feels that the car is slipping and ofc it slows the car down since its alot less RPMs

Thats because the DSC system brakes so you don't drive to fast:) You can puch the throttle to flor and nothing happens:)

@cfhasib I used to drive 740i and after fixing the air condition somehow the DSC remained off but thought it's just an error but someday the car slide over five rounds on speed 120kmh and it did not flip asides.

and thats mean really the DCS was off. i exchange 745i and yet it gave

me fake message "check ABS" and i checked it was fine and had a silly accident because the ABS wasn't working when i fully pushed the brake peddle. next car will be mercedes and if i want i can buy a ferrari

Aud made ESP standard in 2000. With the modern Quattro AWD plus ESP, in emergency maneuvers done in wet and snowy conditions, the Audi will be able to perform significantly better. Its a tossup when it comes to the dry, all depends on the situation.

Owned Audi and Now a rear wheel drive BMW...DSC..is really amazing..coming from lessor cars and having to learn to drive first helps...I did not know BMW technology was that advanced until driving this winter in Northern Quebec.
