@skeilak Yes. I can't wait till I get a GOOD hangar. Pull her out free of snow in the winter, get onto a frozen pond and use the Full Lotus just like ski's. I'd think they work perfectly for winter flying in temperatures warmer than -20 C.
Just a thought, but in the meantime, could you cover her with a water-proof tarp, like you might a boat? Might be a pain to fabricate one, but not undo'able.
The sun, and water getting in every little seam, than freezing at night, and expanding, is going to prematurely age that pretty little airplane, given time.
Sounds like its cold and crunchy. Guess you weren't flying as for snow on wings.
I used Lotus Floats on snow before and was a blast however be wary of the hull caps-- they get brittle when its real cold and you travel rough ice! Gets costly.
Am I crazy, is there a substantial amount of snow adhering to the upper surfaces of that aircraft's wings, especially along the leading edges?
Isn't that generally regarded as being a wee bit dangerous?

@skeilak Wee bit dangerous for taxing?? I don't think it matters for taxing. Now flying is a totally different matter. Don't you think?

I'm sorry. I thought I was seeing a plane landing, in the beginning of the video.
I guess I should have read the description, before commenting.
Amazing how well those Full Lotus floats work.

@skeilak I have her in a hangar for most of the year, just not one that is allows for Winter flying.

@DITMN Here in Canada? I have a Private Pilot license. There is a Ultralight Permit too, but I am very unfamiliar with that.

All correct. Not flying, just taxing. And yes, I did put a small crack in my hull cap. So, Full Lotus not totally ideal for winter flying.
