We ride with brakes in case of emergencies while going downhill and because brakes are cheaper than wheels. That said some mates in San Francisco ride with 5 wheels and no brakes.

Ah side surfing...requiring good skill and flexibility... But ultimately looking ridiculous!

The only shop in town is called SkateBiz but they charge too much. Best to go online or just borrow a pair.

i bought some new skates (K2) a month ago coz of this vid.
broke my elbow 2 days ago though. Elbows were the only pads i didn't buy, i'll be getting em now.

Sorry to hear that. Skating is really dangerous. Never take it for granted. Good think is you do not need your arms to skate. :)

I mix between old and new cross max and k2s ... maybe labeda grippers ... bearings unknown ... some running dry ... some with marine grease.
