  • This game has its charms, but I think Mark is right. There are some fun ideas and a good variety of moves, but the level design is monotonous and the music is literally the same track on loop. I really own this one for its packaging and versus mode.

  • this is the only review by mark that is just dead wrong. appreciate the duran duran knowledge though.

  • I've never played it. If anyone reads this comment, tell me if its like what this guy says

  • I was fucking good at this game <3 I still have it!

  • I don't know what Mark is on a about. This was one of the best beat'em up on the Mega Drive.

  • Loved this game!

  • Bahahahhahah he got pwned by the boss.

  • The soundtrack IS good!

  • I love this game !

  • i saw this at gamexchange today for 2 dollars but i got test drive 2 and Classic Arcade Collection instead now im pissed

  • The music sounds pretty funny

  • Wow 500 characters is not enought to say what I wanted to. (Not big on posting so did not take that into mind.) Ok, this game is in my top ten. It plays more like a fighting game with all the moves you can do, and if you cant do them well that is on your end. The opponents are just like you and there is not food just lying around making this game unique. Last Hint: You can cut off and take the second arm after removing the first are. Ok Bye.

  • thumbs up if you came here because of double dragon 3

  • I will have to disagree with Mark on this one. Cyborg Justice was great fun to play, especially in co-op mode. I am awful when it comes to combos and the like in video games but I was able to do the arm rip and torso rip without much trouble.

  • I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS GAME SINCE I WAS A KID!!! AHHHH!!!!

sorry. anyway, i LOVED this game and played it on sega channel religiously when i was a kid. but once the sega came and went, i totally forgot about it.

thankfully, i just found this video. thank you!

  • I just got this game but it didnt have the manual, the case does look awesome though!

  • Given that customization is a real big thing nowadays in games it would just make sense to give the ideas in this game another go and make a really awesome robot fighting or robot beat em up game I mean there was something like that for the gamecube with robots and another one for the wii with frankenbots but like a real attempt at making it like fun to play like the mod nation racers of customized beat em ups.

  • Jump in the air.. Flying Elbow (Crank! Crank!)

  • 1. The Robots walked like they were hot shit :)

    2. I used to love ripping off the first arm, cutting the second, and then just decking them and laughing.

    3. There was one my friend and I had called the KFC where I would pop someone's arm, and my friend would go for the Torso.

This game was Hot Shit back in the day...

  • i loved this game alot

  • What I hated was in the challenge mode, the one cyborg would spam the laser right when the level started! So stupid!

  • I think I just feel in love with Mark all over again... no homo... he said Bender form Futurama!!

  • I actually like this intro better. Too bad it's not in the Mark's videos anymore.

  • splendid game !

  • I think you were too harsh. This game was the shit, especially with two people.

  • wow I aways though you were a black guy by your voice..... XD!

  • The thing I loved most about this game was the fact that you could rip off arms torsos, & use the remaining legs. I just wish they allowed you to modify the non-weapon arm. It was an enjoyable game, but monotonus.

  • this is sick

  • The game was very good actually, just sucked for the ppl who can't play the game properly just because they can't get the controls down 8-)

  • @BlackIce348 i agree i loved this game , used to play is co-op all the time when i was a kid

  • Can't really say that this game is awful. If you're just starting, of course you think it's awful, but overtime once you start getting the hang of it, you're going to make it easy. I really like this game as a kid, putting all the robot bodies back up, then kill it again, and put it back up, and then kill it again. Ah, classic. =)

  • Why the Cyborg hate? GREAT MOVIE PAL

  • the only thing i thought was good was the multiplayer aspect

  • i played this game for hours on end. sure it sucks now but when i was younger i had so much fun playin this game.. pnumatic legs ftw

  • giftyoutub

  • This game ruled! You need to learn how to make the most out of your arm weapons by using the hazards in the game to trap and mess up your opponents.

    Epic game!

  • Need to rip off arms and torsos and such! :)

  • @T2rx6 hell yea this game was fuckin dope!

  • you can tell mike HATES this game XD "you wait till your short bus comes along and takes you back..." bahahahaha

  • i used to love this game

  • This is one of those games. That I rented a few times back in the Sega Genesis era.

  • nicely animated though

  • this was 1993, what did you expect? personally I think it is a great game.

  • Mazin Sgag is awesome!!!

  • for the opening, I don't think XBOX360 or PS3 quite count as classic games yet...

  • Man... this game totally destroys, he just doesn't understand the level of brutality of it pre-MK era. I mean... you can de-torsify the enemy and steal his legs! HARSH.

  • Dude...

You can rip off ANY limb, and then SWITCH yours with it. Not just throw it.

And every limb has a special ability by itself, including the goddamn leftarm that can't be chosen at mechbuild, but only by sawing it off and stealing it.

I remember never really having issues with the controls

Each legs gives a different movement ability, as well, like summersault, walking over spikes, ramming, etc.

It ain't a good game, but reading the game manual actually helps playing this one.

  • right arm*

  • @SebbyTheFreak right arm*

  • @3headedHelldog you are right lol I whoped ass in this game and there are plenty of moves you can use to kill lol

  • I loved this game i used to have it when i was 3 i was born in 93 i had it for years it would of been interesting to have a sequel thjey could of fixed the controls

  • I loved this game i used to have it when i was 3 i was born in 93 =D

  • really, I see them walking and all I can think of is "haters gon' hate"

  • man you really need practice at that game -_- maybe you should set the difficulty on easy then cause i can rip off limbs and torsoes from bosses easily you just press the A button then the d pad in the direction behind you immediately, simples

its your own fault you lost those two lives, should've polished your skills mate.

this is coming from a gamer who has beaten and used to own that cartridge :)

  • Its such a shame, I remember *wanting* to like this game. I really tried.

  • Dude thanks for this I recall this .... I was searching 4 this shit..... damn it, I remember playing it lol 15 or `16 ago ;) !!

  • love the music lol.

  • Cyborg Justice is the shizznazz!

  • My friend had this game, and being a Mega Man fan, I loved playing it despite its many flaws. The game had lots of potential, but ends up looking like a game that wasn't finished & rushed out to make money off the fragile build-a-robot concept. Even the secret screen to skip levels & have infinite lives looked more like a debug mode than a cool secret option screen. This is one of the games that, even though its bland & broken, I still have confidence that it could of been a great game.

  • Hey! Cyborg was a great movie!

  • @lancerCNCS1 im all ears, LMFAO

  • I love this game too and in its defense it is an older genasis game very old. To be honest i think its hallariously fun.

  • this has cool animation.

  • Streets of Rage is still the best SS fighter for genesis.

  • I agree w/ ur review. r8t on tha money!

  • You like "Cosmic Carnage" but you don't like this? What, are you retarded?

  • My friend would bring this over everyday and we would play the hell out of it.

I've been looking for it forever because I forgot the name, it was good times.

  • The controls are hard to get at, but when you finally do, it's alot of fun to rip off the body parts of other cyborgs. The only unfortunate thing is that the only way to replenish health and get lives is to tear off their torso and "absorb" it or something like that. In order to tear off their limbs the enemies have to be stunned. This game had alot of potential, but didn't get the justice it deserved.

  • @kr4nkel Did you just describe the new Metal Gear Game?!

  • @kr4nkel Well said, My thoughs exactly.

  • Cyborg Justice RULES.

  • I remember this game. It was terrible, period.

  • I was wondering what is the opposite name of Cyborg Justice? Lawless Elf?

  • This game was awsome once you mastered the (crappy) controls :)

  • This was one of my few games as a kid, so I learned to enjoy it even with all the flaws. I was just too taken by the ability to pull enemies apart and steal parts.

  • man i'm tired of missiles hitting me in the back of the head when i'm at mcdonalds

  • @Kirschthollar At least you're not getting ripped in half or losing limbs!

  • same style font as streets of rage

  • HAHAH I LOVE this game. Played it so much as a kid

  • Three whole pages of moves, eh. And, when it all comes down to it, punching and kicking does it all.

Yea...typical side scroller combat game. So much potential promissed. So little resale value, realized.

  • After just scrolling down about half the page of comments, perhaps I may give this game a try...some day.

Granted, "controller code games" (like Street Fighter II/Mortal Kombat/etc) were never my favorite gene. But, still...for a decent price, and some luck, I may wish to add this title to my rather meager selection of Genesis titles.

  • Very good review, I couldn't stop laughing with your hamburger analogy haha!

  • this game does look cool and i dont much care about backrounds but the music may eventually get me but its cyborbs and that rules but control is an issue

  • im getting one of the new sega mega drives on monday ive preorderd it on amazon and im going to put money in the bank on monday to get and i bought this game aswell

  • haha bought this the other day, i agree with the review although cyborg justice can be fun in 2 player mode

  • I definitely understand some of the points mark makes but I too like this game. The moves arent too hard and are really awesome when you get good. Ripping people in half, jumping on them to steal their energy, using the specialty legs which really help, Hell even the duel mode is ok. The arms arent great and wtf is up with the rocket arm?! lol Playing this w/ a friend is great and the move list is extensive and damaging. Id give the game a B- at worst B+ at best with nostalgia factor. Sequel pls

  • i fucking pwnd this game so many timesssss

  • .....Seriously, I am really sick of these comments. It's his opinion, He doesn't have to like the game, so stop being assholes. Classic Game Room is awesome, great review as always Mark! I like this game but it's still a great review. Sega Genesis ftw!

  • @PrivatePrinny117 i agree with you and hes is speaking the truth he aient making this up

  • I expected a cool game...

    ...and I got it!!

  • @BT3Master yeh it is pretty cool

  • @diamonddust22 it may be a great game but maybe he just doesent like it i fucking hate streetfighter cause of the controls but does that make it a bad game

  • @diamonddust22 fuck you

  • mrpivotwarlord grow up

  • @diamonddust22 up youres

  • mrpivotwarlord god how old are you, 2? You truly need to grow up. You sound you are a little baby.

  • @diamonddust22 yeh well im 12

  • mrpivotwarlord doesn't give you the right to be a big mouth. In the real world people are going to be as forgiving.

  • @diamonddust22 well thats fine if people are going to be as forguiving

  • This guy just doesnt know how to play, guess he doesnt like a challenge. Once you figure out the controls and the timing of using them, the game is awesome.

  • Man, whatever. I love this game. I have almost no trouble pulling off most of the moves in this game, other than that the A button tends to glitch mildly from time to time.

It's true that the arm moves are useless and that this game has a serious learning curve, but if you stick with it the game will love you back.

    Oh well.

  • BlooditeDrakan you are so right. I played this game to death. What a classic game.

  • totally off with this game. it was a classic genesis game and don't make fun of jcvd again.

  • This is actually one of the very few reviews i disagree with you on.

  • u could also pull there torso off and absorb there energy

  • Cyborg Justice ruled. If you knew how to play it was lots of fun.

  • I love this game too!

  • This guy is a fool. The game is awesome and you can do EXACTLY what the guy on the package is doing.

My brother and I had endless fun ripping each others limbs off and beating each other with them in this game. XD

  • I've never heard of a boss that can not only kill you instantly, but also gives you a Game Over regardless of how many lives you have left. That's some mind-bogglingly bad design, right there.

Something called Cyborg Justice with brilliant artwork on the front deserved much more.

  • I Missed This Game Gotta love sega

  • man sega genesis had some good artwork but crappy games lol

  • that game was awesome. u gotta practice ripping cyborgs apart.

  • how dare you

he has a huge knowledge and makes great reviews.

if u can do better show us and make reviews urself.

noone give a crap about your stupid opinion

I love this review series along with ten thousands

  • up yours

  • thx for giving me one thumb down

    u got 6...

now u might think about who has more support mmh?

  • I loved this game xD

  • One of my favorites on the Genesis. If anything, it's too easy. You did do it in the video, but you can reconstruct the enemies, then rip their torso off and absorb their energy. Stuff like that wasn't what you saw a lot of in that time of gaming, or this one for that matter. It did have Vs. too

  • While gameplay hasn't stood up to the test of time, Cyborg Justice is definately one of my favorite Genesis games. Once you do actually master the controls, this game is great fun. And plus, you can very much beat the bosses to ripping off body parts. =D I wouldn't recommend it to new crowds because of the learning curve of the controls, but this was easily one of my all time favorite Genesis games. If the AI were better, I would still recommend it. But the fact is, this game is too easy.

  • this game really does suck ass

  • kinda random but what ever son

  • Comment removed

  • haha this isnt the first game he disliked

  • A game Mark doesn't like! A landmark moment in CGH history!

  • @Tryzon that's great, but what's CGH?

  • @KamikazeXero A typo, I'm afraid.

    Naturally I meant CGR.

But it's been immortalised now, so there's not much that can be done.

  • @Tryzon Screw that - a GENESIS game Mark doesn't like! Okay, these was also Virtua Racing. He didn't like that.

  • Oh man, I remember playing this game when I was like 4 or 5 and thinking it was awesome. I just enjoyed the building aspect, not knowing anything about it though, haha

  • i really didnt like this game i actually bought it cause the description and artwork looked cool after a while i just took it out and played Streets Of Rage

  • Y'know what would've also drastically helped this game out: Compatibility with the 6-button layout...

Still, this game is one of my most fond Genesis moments (in a tie with playing as the velociraptor in Jurassic Park).

  • I love the hambuger ref. I personnaly like the game, just not one I can continusly play.

  • I found this to be an okay game.

And you can tear off their torso by the same means as tearing off their arm.

You can throw it at someone or you can crush it in your hands and restore your life.

The torso rip was one of my chief moves to use in this game.

  • Sorry to rub it in CGR but I like watching reviews of games you don't like, the comments are usually very funny, but when you hate the game it's just hilarious, like Ridge Racer and the heavy machine gun cuts haha.

  • aw, there's lots of creative ways to play this game :[ this review bums me out.

  • I always liked the music in this game, but it's absolutely true that the controls could have been more logical. The story is that you're a human space pilot who crash lands on a planet of robots. Your body is damaged beyond repair so they stick your brain in a mechanical body (which is why you're a cyborg, not a robot) and attempt to erase your memory so they can use you as a worker drone but your memory just won't die so you decide to resist with a clenched fist.

  • This is the second well animated game that CGR that's reviewed that was another flop. I don't recall the other game but yeah disappointing on the games part.

  • lol hamburger analogy

I liked this game when I was a kid.

  • dude i bet armor cored came out of this game i mean it had to.

  • Nice thanks for reviewing this. Big nostalgia factor here... me and my cousin used to play this on verses.

  • gimmie a break dude, you're entitled to your opinion, but when I played this game I had no trouble using the specials. I think you are just comparing it to a game that you think is great and overlooking what made cj great. but hey, more power to you.

  • oh god i hate this game with a passion when i was younger i loved it but once i fired it up in the sega i wanted to kill someone

  • dude, i loved that game! cyborg justice was tons of fun!

  • 1st review of a "shitty game" ive seen on CGR

  • at 1:14 u see that there is a load of binary it translates to šÓZkMi5¦´ÖšÚ+Eh does that make any sense?

  • lol your legend

  • My cousin and me used to rent and play this game.

  • by the way, to steal an opponent's life. hit them 3 times in a row, they will bend over a little bit. get close and then press and hold back and A at the same time. you'll pull off their body. press A again and you suck their life. GG

  • Hey, I loved Cyborg Justice! Sega did a unique thing with they're games and didn't tell you the best moves. Did you know in this game you can pick up an enemy and steal its life? And what's with you and the "not good music?" I loved that game's music!

  • I AGREE COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yaaaaay!

  • "And what's with you and the "not good music?" I loved that game's music!" It's terrible FM music. Crappy sounding instruments and crappy composition.

  • Ok, FIRST of all, IT'S A GENESIS GAME. That stuff is pretty old and that's really good for its time zone. Plus, there was two types of music. The SNES type of music, and the Genesis type of music. They both had their own styles and aperently you ware the SNES type.

  • Bullshit. I had the Genesis on release and there were tons of great music in games. FM sounds great in the right hands, it sounds terrible in the wrong hands. TF3,Shinobi,TF2, Phantasy star 2, Gaiares, etc all had awesome music (early Genesis games). There so many games from even before this game's 'time zone' with much better music.

  • I just don't see how you can hate it, I mean, it goes perfectly with the game. The main guy is robotic, and the music is robot-like, if you get what I mean.

  • Yeah, but I bet those compositions would have sounded much clearer, and more lively on the SNES then your Mega Drive.

  • "Yeah, but I bet those compositions would have sounded much clearer, and more lively on the SNES then your Mega Drive." What are you talking about? Or did you reply to the wrong person?

  • Whoops! I meant to reply to someone else's comment, the guy above you, he was saying stuff how the Genesis music was better sounding. Sorry.

  • In this game isn't it possible to pick body parts off of the defeated enemies (before they explode)? Also, does this game have any relation to "Blackhole Assault" on the sega cd?

  • Good review, pretty much how I feel about it as well. I enjoyed it somewhat but it got old fast. One of those games made that felt like a strong missed opportunity, such a cool idea, then it got a bit messed up...

  • is genisis like, REALLY GOOD? because i dont have one, and everyone is like: GENISIS OMG AWESOME GENISIS DOES WAT NINTENDONT.

    is it really that good?

  • The Genesis, NES, and SNES all had their perks. Sega had a good amount of games that were pretty original, like, say, Vectorman, but some damn shitty ones too, like all the systems have had their share of.

Genesis had less in the way of EPIC MUSIC, unlike the SNES, but they both have good games. It's either a matter of taste between getting either system, or, if you were a kid, a matter of how cheap your parents were.

  • Buy snes for rpgs.

  • you make a KILLER BINDER!!

  • wow, i've missed this one. no "first!" for me. dammit.

no matter how crappy the game, this is undeniably Genesis/Megadrive music. i love it, even when it's bad. that's how much i love this console.

by the way, why is that cyborg you're playing with constantly walking on a music record? could it be... Truxton???

  • OMFG. THERES A MANUAL?

  • yes there is

    every game has a MANUAL!!!

  • woah.i think i still have the packaging up in the attic...

  • he should review sonic cd w00t!

  • lol bender, Nice example using the burger. nice review. more mate more.lol

  • I own the original game, i had mixed feelings about it, i enjoyed the concept and the combat, specially ripping the arm and torso of enemies but i hated the fact levels were all the same, enemies were all the same also...

  • Looks much better than Rise of the Robots on the SNES.

  • the game isn`t that bad

i get the game from ebay 2 weeks ago

in 2 player modus it`s fun

but the controls are really bad

  • The real deal is always better than ROMS :) ... but will send a link to the ROM version.
