  • Hey Hank great show. Sounds awesome! Could you share the chords for the song though? I can't make out the few chords that comes right before "get along...". Thanks in advance bro!

  • seeing you guys tonight at the belly up!!!!

  • Holy good night almighty....that's Bernard Purdie???? that's it...give me a guitar....I'm quitting as a drummer right freaking NOW!!!!! LOL!

  • I had no idea Bob! awesome....

  • You guys got it right n' tight !!!

  • I'd make a trip to SD just to see this band... and I live in South Florida!

  • NICE CHOPS BOYS & GIRLS!!! Best cover I've heard of this tune!

  • is there gas in the car?

  • Bernard Purdie is the man!!!!

  • spot on bloody great

  • great video!! great job on a great tune! nailed it!

  • you enjoyed that didn't you Mr bass player!

  • I've come back to this video like 10 times in the past 2 weeks. This is an awesome performance of a great song. So much energy and these guys killed it.

  • Great job. Some of my favorite guitar solos.

  • Starry Night Blues Band loves The STEELY DAMNED .... wow, fabulous !!!

  • Really hope to see you guys one day in San Diego... I'll buy you a beer hank :)....

  • Had to come back to say how great it is to see bands putting in the time to learn Dan stuff. I'm nowhere near the caliber of musician these guys are, but Fagen and Becker make me glad to be one. My previous comment wasn't meant to be any kind of dig. Any guitar player who can play this stuff definitely has his own thing and should let it shine. I played bass (or tried to) in a Dan band and loved every second of it...just couldn't get gigs.

  • Damn, is that Purdie? Sure looks and plays like him....guitar player trying too hard to be what he ain't. Just find your own voice and groove, man....

  • I've seen these guys and have never seen such a versatile guitar player. He covers all the different gutiar players styles without breaking a sweat. They're actually more impressive and entertaining than the real Steely Dan.

  • stay off the crack pipe man

  • "Pretty" Purdie, indeed. Just thought the legendary drummer deserved to have his last name spelled correctly. Since time waits for no one, Becker and Fagen will never be able to match this band live.

  • Agreed! Hank, you should be touring with the Dan. You're a fantastic musician, and your band are brilliant

  • I read about Mr Easton in the San Diego Weekly. You guys are quite good. I am a HUGE fan of Steely Dan and if you ever need a background singer I am the one. I know all the tunes and would love to fill in anytime. I already have tickets for the show in Las Vegas in August. This music is so important to the younger generation of musicians. Thanks for taking the time to learn it. All the best to you. Do you do Bodhissatva?

  • screw jon herrington, the Dan should get this guy to do their tours.

either that or bring Drew Zingg or better yet drug LC put him in a time capsule back to 1978 meet him there and take this shit to the moon and back with almighty LC in his prime.

  • Are you only saying that because the guitar part on this recording is essentially lifted note for note off the original recording? Aside from some of ending solo, which I didn't find all that impressive, its a pretty decent carbon copy of the original.

But, personally I think Jon Herrington brings a fresh take on some of the classic solos.

  • no i am saying that because i own all of this guy's records and he is a better player.

    period.

  • hold it Right there wanker... Jon is a wonderful guitar player and a very cool person. So, BACK OFF....

  • Damn - this is some good schtuff.......

  • bernard missed a few changes in the giutar solo but he is purdy none the less awesomne job by everyone..is Angel singing background? I thought I saw her but did not see her name in the credits

  • Yes he did but what a nice feel!! No Angel wasn't there.

  • I'm afraid you set the bar too high by playing the solos practically note 4 note...btw...you AND your band are truly great...when are you playinhg live again??? maybe in NY???

  • Thanks alot Geof! We only play once every 2 months and only in San Diego. We're all in different bands and it makes it hard to find dates where we're all available. But if you're ever coming out this way let me know and hopefully we'll have a gig scheduled. Thanks, Hank

  • @GeofGrayson

Mr. Purdie was awesome!!! What are you talking about.???
