@TheLongLakeRockstar I'll disagree... Avant-garde is just a different, slightly more pretentious way to say experimental music. Avant-garde (and experimental) by definition has no definite sound. I love avant-garde music but I hate that junk 'art' which you described pretty accurately. People banging forks on rocks and playing reverse recorded-fart noises and say "it symbolizes inner chaos of humanity." To say it's all the same though, is like saying 'rock' as one huge genre is the same, etc.
