omg I remember this song. I can remember a bunch of kids standing around someone playing a piano clapping & singing this song, I think it was the early to mis 80s, maybe around 84 or 85?? It was real easy to catch these commercials early in the morning around 4 or 5 am
Did you know that our money supports the Children’s Aid Society…and yet too many of our children are dying in the system that we depend upon to support them? It is time to go beyond the C.A.S review board-we need them to be transparent and held accountable for what happens to the children under their care. Join us on Facebook. We are a wealth of information. Facebook group: “Stop the Children’s Aid Society from abusing LGBTQ youth”.
Why is it that if a child lives with their natural parents and the child dies as a result of abuse or neglect it usually takes hours for an investigation to be completed and people to be arrested...but if the child is in the system and the child dies as a result of neglect or abuse it often takes YEARS until there is an investigation? (If any) Why? Did you also know that NO body can investigate CAS, including the Ombudsman of Ontario?
Old Guy Reporting in... The original was cut in early 1981. I should know. I played guitar in the studio for that spot, and the girl who was playing in my band at the time played bass. She got the call, and brought me into the project. 1 Hour, $87.50 Union Scale. No residuals for that type of commercial spot gig. After the musicians, the singers in for 1 hour, then an hour to mix. 3 Hours to make, ran on Local NYC TV for over 25 years. Damn.
Do you remember the iconic TV commercial jingle for the CAS that was shot at the CAS aka "Rhinelander's" on East 88th Street 1st Avenue in Yorkville Manhattan? Many of my friends of the era were in the original TV commercial. Was it really in 1981? I thought it was sometime in the 70's.
They help me with my homework when I'm stuck, they help me when I'm down and out of luck...blah, blah....I'M REALLY GLAD THEY MADE THE CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY"
Okay, Gen X-er here...eh, what the HELL is this? Are they intent on ruining EVERY cool thing from the 70's and 80's? Oh, did ya hear the re-make of "We are the World" they did last year for Haiti? I LITERALLY almost had a conniption.
Can ANYONE think of anything ORIGINAL anymore? Music, TV, Movies...the list goes on.
Once they re-boot Mr.Owl from the "How many licks does it take..." Tootsie-Pop ad, I'm jumpin' off the frickin roof, so help me God!
Children's aid society was the shit. Me and my friends would of been dropouts if not for them. They helped us more than our school teachers. Fuck the NYC school system, all props in the world to children's aid society. TRUTH
they help ypu with your homework when your stuck.they help you when your down and out of luck.they got him flipping burgers and selling chips but he dont know how to write! Lmao!!!! Classic
This upbeat stuff is bs; the children's aid society was about helping kids in need and children in need would not be singing preppy crap like this lol.
Seriously. This is definitely a step down from the original. Lame attempt to update it w/ the dance beat. =/
There might be a chance to find it if you write the CAS & ask if they have recordings of it and/or have it on video. I did that for an old 70s March of Dimes tv ad I remembered & they SENT me a free copy on vhs!
