When I was a kid I had the 45 to this song and used to play it all the time on my record player. I loved the song and loved dancing to it in my bedroom. It is a cool song and so exciting to hear.
I'd seen all of his best films - King Creole, Flaming Star, Follow That Dream, etc - but had yet to see any of the bad formula movies. If I'd known what a huge plunge this one was going to be, I might not have seen it yet. It's sad to think how Elvis must have suffered making this one. The plot degenerates into songs (TOO MANY SONGS) and hordes of bimbos who constantly hunt the men down. The only highlights were a couple of the songs, a hillbilly blonde Elvis and the hilarious "double" scenes.
The shirt which "Jody Tatum" [mountain Elvis] wears in this part of Kissin' Cousins is a precursor to the costumes which Elvis wears in his live performances from after his 1968 'comeback'.
this song reminds of the song in Shrek where it goes "When I saw your face, I'm a believer not a trace down in my mind. I'm in love, oooh ah i'm a believer i couldn't leave her if i tried (sorry if i got the lyrics wrong). i dunno why but the songs gets in my mind:D
1:05 if you look carefully it is actually Lance Gault during the turn. Speaking of the other stars. to think that MaryAnn Mobley was his most popular co-star and she did not appear in his favorite movies he had done; that included; King Creole or Blue Hawaii!
No, Elvis is not talking about real cousins, but it is legal for 2nd & 3rd cousins to marry, and in 27 states it is legal for first cousins to marry, with circumstances on six of those. It is prohibited in 24 states. It is about equal between northern and southern states. When Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13 yr old distant cousin it was LEGAL. By the way Elvis did NOT have a sexual relationship with, move in or marry a 14 yr old Priscilla. She was almost 18 when she moved to Graceland in 3/63.
Haard to believe that Lance Gault was the backside of Elvis in some shots! In the '68 Comeback Special he is the one playing the tamberine! And does also the voice over for the Graceland Tour!
From a fun little movie with some other stars such as..
Elvis Presley, Arthur O'Connell, Glenda Farrell, Jack Albertson, Pamela Austin, Cynthia Pepper, Yvonne Craig, Donald Woods, Tommy Farrell, Beverly Powers, Hortense Petra, Robert Stone, Robert Carson, Joe Esposito, Gail Ganley, Teri Garr, Wayne Hartunian, Lonni Lees

This was the beginning of the REALLY bad films. This was shot in just 15 days to keep cost down and profit up. A terrible waste of a huge a talent.

Its so frustrating as a fan to know that Elvis wasted so much of his talent making these teeny bopper type films.

Probably not one of Elvis' best movies, but still better than most of today's films even with their special effects.

That's Yvonne Craig from the 60's Batman series in one of the scenes. She had a big ol' booty. I loved seeing it in Gidget.
