GPS-290 uses satellites so no wifi is needed, but if its rainy outside it may take a while to lock onto a satellite

SOmething is wrong with the google maps thing.... Its the part where you download the map. when i downloaded the map it says "something not quite right with this page, change map view (its fine if their is no detail)" What does this mean?

hey mate great video, i have just bought a psp, and i cant really get my gps to work, got all the maps sussed, but when i turn it on nothing happens, and i go to gps status and it says its off.. when its suppose to be on.

Sinkatze had the same problem, solution is you should move the GPS device to 90 degree angle so the back of the device is not touching the psp.

how long did you wait and were you moving around while it was trying to lock on?

is it suppose to say GPS STate ON, before you lock on? or does it only say its ON once it has locked on? thanks

its supposed to say on before it is locked on, also you will have satellites in view before the GPS is locked on.

Hey i got the prog, said i had to get 75% battery, so i left it charging till it was 100%. still said Battery needs to be at least 75% and quit out! LOL

FINALLY!! it took a while.. I had up to 12 satellites in view and after some time I got locked on 1, then 2! can it lock on 2? then it tracked up my location right away and used it for a 15 mile trip and it worked great..

Gosh again 5 satellites in view, but never get a lock on, after getting a lock on can it get disconnected or is it untill you exit the program? Also do you have to look up for a lock every time you want to use the GPS or after locking on one it alwasy locks on that one? I didin't know the PSP GPS would give me such trouble, I thought it was better..

its not the greatest, Houlux GPS locks on faster but the are pros and cons for every GPS device.

Ok now I came back and I could finally see my GPS status ON, and found up to 5 satellites in view, but couldn't lock on any yet, do I have to do something to lock on them or does it do it automatically and sends you back to your map? Thanks again for all the help..

yeah getting satellites in view is the first part, not you have to wait until the LOC: 01 shows up that means you have one satellite locked and it can track your position

Oh yeah I know about that, but yesterday checking, on PSP info it should say GPS State: ON right? well mine said OFF, and I moved the GPS a little bit and it went ON, so I think the entrance of the USB cable is a bit messy.. now I will try it again and see if it grabs anything..

ok, im glad you dont have to deal with the keycleaner, your GPS device is supposed to be positioned at 90 degrees, and if you want better reception you can get a extension cable so your device is not touching the psp

Is there any program or anything that can make a test or something on the GPS to really see if its working right?

if your GPS device is not working it might

be caused by your psp's motherboard's corrupt files this can be solved

by using keycleaner v1.1 go to my website on my first post read the video description and follow the instructions it talks all about the key cleaner

Thanks for the answers.. I was out all day today, when I press square it turns on the GPS with and without my GPS installed.. and the bar on the right appears, but when I go into GPS info it still says GPS state: OFF.. I am not sure if it should say something else or what.. I have the same problem as Bir-Dep on your site. Thanks..

some people get the problem like your having, this is not an error from the program it is probably a device malfunction, you might want to exchange it for a new one

...Today I had my GPS on all day and never got a signal from a satellite.. I really don't know if I am doing something wrong, but whatever I do with and without the GPS connected it is the same, so I don't know if its reconizing it or something, because I never get a "Please connect your GPS" message or something when its not in.. also when I go into GPS info where it says GPS State, it says OFF, but when my USB cable is in its says ACTIVATING.. can you help me somehow? dont plug the USB into the GPS when hte GPS is in your psp and the mapthis program is running just press square to turn it on
