I dont like Msi. The p7n sli fi is not a bad board but its not good for overclocking comes with almost nothing in the box and only supports ddr2 800mhz. I never will buy a Msi board again.

I have recently bought this board as a quick replacement. I overlooked the fact that it was an Nvdia based chipset and I already 2 HD4800 series video cards. Is this going to be a problem?

I notice in the video though at 2:46 when he is talking about the SATA ports he mentions it will not interfere with large video hards and he says "4870s or 4870 x2s".

Can I crossfire my HD4870 and HD4850 on this board?

@ElRhinoProductions i've heard they do and sometimes they don't , but if they don't im sure the company has the OC program on their site so u can download it from there.. u can also OC from ur motherboard menu ( i have the motherboard in this video bulit into my other compter and it's great for over clocking if you make a mistake u have a reset button on there so it's much easier) but don't mess around with OC if u don't know wat ur doing it can cause dmg to ur computer components..

all i have to say is that, although he explains the SLI feature (nvidia) for the entire video, everytime he says anything about a graphics card he mentions an ATI product, "so you can put your 3870's and your 4870's"...and then when he shows the SLI bridge he says its crossfire (ATI)...i think he got confused with it being an AM2+ mobo lol

Got a Phenom X4 2.3Ghz+4Gb Ram and 2 XFX nVidia 9600GT and i can run everything at max RES and High Quality!

He means the integrated 8200 will only run Hybrid SLI with cards up to the 8500gt. Your 9-series cards will run just fine in SLI, just not with the integrated GPU.

don't know much about AMD Mobo's but definitely get hte PHenom 2 X4 940 much better performance and less power usage then the 9950 more comparable to the C2Q Q9550 or Corei7 920

as of today newegg makes it easy to find phenom 2 940 boards,search by cpu and you get 4 boards as of now. there are a few more boards that support the phenom 940 other than the 4 on newegg, you'll have to check out boards mfg sites for compatability. kinda sucks but it is still kinda new.

I Bought this MotherBoard and it was hunk of shit. The Motherboard was defective from the factory along with over 500,000 other units that have not been recalled. P.S. The problum is that, when you plug in the power and turn it on there is insufficent protection for the logic board and it fries and destroyes any chance of CMOS workability.

you can use any video card on mobo with pci-e but sli mean it only supports 2 nvidia cards and corssfire supports omly 2 ati cards so this 1 suports any card but only sli nvidia cards

AMD CPUs overclock fine, I have a 5000+ also (not black edition) and used the motherboard's clock to raise it to 3.08ghz and runs fine.

I 2 have an amd 5000+, and i can barely reach 2.9ghz on air cooling with a decent cooler.

Whereas Intel cpus can overclock MUCH further.

For example, ive seen people overclocking the E6750 cpu (2.66ghz) to 3.6ghz and sometimes to 4ghz.

Thats a dramatically larger overclock than any AMD cpus can do.

AMD cpus are just too damn hot!

Intels Core2 cpus typically run around 20-35 degrees on idle, where as AMD typically run 40-50 degrees on idle. On air cooling ofcourse.

That is absolutely BS, I have mine running at over 3.2 ghz and I have never seen the temps top 35 deg. under heavy load. Ever heard of case fans? Try a few, good case ventilation could mean the difference between a fast rig and a pile of liquid slag.

2. It cannot overclock beyond 2.9ghz or it will crash

3. I have a large double heatpiped cooling fan for the processor

4. I also have 2 front 80mm, 1 side 80mm, 1 rear 120mm, and 1 VGA fan.

So, yes I do have fans thank you.

5. I have an OK case, Apevia-X discovery. It is low end, but offers some pretty standard ventilation.

I'm sorry, but AMD CPUs run hot. Look it up online, its pretty consistent.
