  • He looks just like my own Maine coon, Bramble, who is a tiny 13lb (having dropped from 14lb 12oz, probably due to my other cat stealing most of his food. You are so lucky to have known Louie. Bramble has his own page on Facebook, by the way, which you are welcome to join.

  • What a great vidieo.... Sorry you lost Louie at such an early age... I know its hard to loose them especially when you know they should have had a much longer life. I lost one of my Miniature Schnauzers right after she turned seven of renal failure.

  • Rest in peace, Louie... such a wonderful cat!

  • Love it!!

  • so sorry for your loss. I had my 1 year old gorgeous bay Maine coon " Rafal" ran over and killed last week and am so very ill with grief. They are such special Cats.

  • So sorry for your loss. We lost our Maine Coon about 1 year ago, and they sure take a big chunk of your heart with them. I love the way Louie has his paws wrapped about the pup!

  • What a cute video. I'm sorry for your loss, but Louie is still giving smiles and joy through this video. We got a Maine Coon (Rudy) two years ago from the shelter and he has been such a ray of light in our lives. Thanks again for sharing this clip.

  • Louie looked bigger than the cat. I love this video but it makes me sad though. Thank you for sharing. 5*****s

    Dianne

  • Just lovely as nature intended.

You will be sadly missed Louie by all !!

  • I bet the little terrier misses his soul mate Louie the cat. Funny thing cats and dogs do get along in there own way !

  • and "they" say cats and dogs cant get along

  • Dogs and cats... Living together... MASS HYSTERIA!

(This is the sort of thing republicans think gay marriage will lead to.)

  • That just cracked the hell out of me!

    FUNNY!

    Susie

  • This is just adorable!! Puppy is so cute and Louie is beautiful!

I am so sorry for your loss. Maine Coon's are just the best!

RIP sweet Louie.. you will never be forgotten.. and now you are in my heart!

  • :) Too cute eh?

  • RIP Louie. My mini schnauzer died Nov. 2009. Did Louie know your schnauzer since birth? Just wondering b/c I'd like to get a mini schnauzer along w/ a kitty.

  • Didn't know Maine Coones got that big.

  • @FCannova That's what that breed is known for, size!

  • So beautiful to watch what a lovely couple x

  • Absolutely prescious. Terrific that we can now share videos of our special animals with everyone. I'm so sorry about Louie. I lost my prescious tiger kitty Sylvia just a month ago - she was 20 years old. So glad you have such fun memories. :)

  • What an amazing kitteh must Louie have been. A pal for live, I would say haha. So sorry for the loss, those thing shouldn`t be allowed to happen....

A real nice song choice too for the vid!! I`m so Curious what the song is called and from whom it will be??????

    Respect for Louie!

  • I've forgotten the artist, but he name of the song is "Five Minutes".

  • @snowmominator

Ok, thnx a lot. Well, I will try to search it.

  • Jody Sticker "Five Minutes"

  • My 10 mo old Min. Schnauzer plays with my 14 year old Siamese cat. Sometimes it gets out of hand but then they cuddle up together. I dread the time my cat will no longer be with us. I can just imagine how much your heart is broken from loosing such a lovely cat and my heart goes out to you. Perhaps in time you can get another one who can be a playmate for the dog.

  • What a beautiful cat. So sorry for your loss. We lost Big Red a little over a year ago. I still miss my friend.

  • I just had to have my best friend put down, an 18 year old Maine coon cat, God I miss her. She was my shadow, she wanted to be with me, all the time. No-one would believe how that friend was to me but my kids. Now that she's gone, I just can't believe how much I miss her, a cat

  • So much for the "dogs hate cats" theory!

  • Cute video! I have never heard of a Maine Coon Cat before. This one look large and very long fluffy hair. Sorry for the loss. The Dog must miss his friend so much.

  • What a beautiful maine coon, true friends. I loved your vid. Iam so sorry that he has passed. If every cat lover knew about coons they would all have at least one.

  • Darn, and I thought my cat had a lot of fur.

  • what a fantastic video....so sorry that he has gone ..he looks fab!

  • belloooo gattonee....stupendo un micione cosi

  • vídeo bom, música brega

  • I just watched this again-a few months later. I adore this clip-so adorable and humorous. He was a handsome fellow indeed. Thank you for posting this-it brings a smile to the face of everyone who see's it.

  • aww I am so sorry for your loss! We might have a maine coon cat, becuase her tail is so fluffy and big! we found her sitting on our front steps the other day, and now she is our Matilda! She is currently sleeping on my lap! lol!! Do you think she will get this big?

  • thats so sad he passed so young i also have a maine coon and my dog licked the cats ears and when she was a kitten she would nurse on my dog

  • I am sorry for your loss. (((hugs))) I do love this video though because looks like these two are good friends :)

  • your dog must miss his buddy so much!!!

  • And people say cats and dogs can't be best friends.

Sorry about your kitteh, I know how much they mean, and how much they become family.

    My thoughts are with you!

  • I can see he had a wonderful family when he was alive. That's the best thing he can have. RIP.

  • How beautiful, loving and kind. I am truly sad for you, bet puppy misses him too. I hope he meets up with my puppy, they would have a licking of a good time in heaven.

  • Sorry you lost this guy: the video a good picture of how super friendly a Maine coon cat is.

  • Comment removed

  • What a dynamic duo...I'm happy/sad watching that video. Your Louie had a great life and those left behind must know that. What more could a cat or a human ever want? I hope Louie is hanging out with my Felix now. Another amazing Maine Coon but not as nice...honest. Still adored.

  • Sorry for your lost.

  • They are little angels on earth, aren't they? I only wish all cats could know the love, comfort and the security of a good home the way yours did. He will continue to be close to you until you are joined again.

  • What a cute pair!

  • very sorry for your loss..he looked like a fantastic cat.

  • I am so glad you have chosen to keep your videos of sweet Louie here. This is my favorite of all of them. I love the music for one thing....but your schnauzer reminds me so much of my Schatzie who went to the Bridge in January 2005. I didn't have any videos of her at all, and viewing this video always brings a smile to my face. I've been thinking of you a lot since I read yesterday that Louie went to the Bridge. Maybe he's found my Schatzie by now and he's giving her a licking :)

  • im so sorry!

  • Hahaha, that's fantastic!!

  • Thank you! We always wanted to do a video with Mexican Soap Opera voice overs but I'm not that technically savy.

  • hi there. I'm so sorry about your loss of precious Louie. I myself just lost my beautiful 7-year-old baby Fiona on the 10th, so I know how difficult it is to lose a precious furry member of the family. I'm already on cry count #6, lol. I'll keep you in my prayers. God bless you and your family.

  • You're right, it's difficult. I've been crying all morning. I'm sorry for your loss. G-d must be in need of a few good kitty cats.

  • @snowmominator how much does he weigh

  • Louie, this precious living soul, passed on yesterday, 1/12/09. He suffer from asthma and cardiomyopathy, part of what comes with being the gentle giant he was. He was only 8 years old. We miss him terribly. We are so grateful to have these digital memories of just how special he was. We hope people continue to enjoy them for years to come. He was one of a kind.

  • Wow, they are so sweet togheter. I will definitly get a maine coon very soon!! 5 stars!

  • You will never regret it. Find a good breeder and look at the parents. Don't buy from a pet store. Good luck!

  • Thanks for sending this to me! Just love it! so sad to hear of your loss! I have gone through loosing pets a few times, but I still can't live without them. Our Maine Coon we got from the Humane Society, was about 6 months old. I had no idea how wonderful this kitty was to be. He is now almost 2 and he is still growing. He is so loving! We call him Mr Pitty Pat, his real name is Bluzzie because we also have a Siamese/Manx named Jazzie. Our Schnauzers are Gracie & Zoey! Well, God Bless!

  • Absolutely sweet, and you're right...the world would be a better place if we could all just sit down and relax together.

    God Bless,

    HA

  • Glad you liked it!

  • Weird to think that cat would rip the dog apart any time it wanted to o.0

  • He COULD rip the the dog apart, or open some serious wounds on any person or animal... but he is a gentle giant and the worse he does is claw you a little to pull you close so he can give you a bath or cuddle.

  • how adorable! i used to have a maine coon but it ended up dying from a heart disease during the summer <.< only had it for 2 years. it was our first maine coon pure breed. we didnt know we were getting a maine coon kitten either lol. we didnt even know of the maine coon breed till he started getting huge lol

  • So sorry about your Kitty! You really need to know what you are getting when you get a Maine Coon. We researched breeders for months. It was worth the wait!

  • Good.5*

  • :-)

  • This is too funny!!!!

  • You'll like my other video "This Magic Moment" too. Louie kind of embraces Sassafrass and catches her when she almost falls off the stool. Thanks for the comment and any stars.

  • So sorry about your doggy......king is absolutlu gorgeous

  • Thanks for your thoughts. I'm glad Louie found another friend.

  • OK, just for the record...I have no control over what flashes in the "Related Videos" box. My video is something sweet about two animals who love each other. End of subject.

  • Wooo! I love how big that cat is! Thats awesome!

  • If you go to my video called "I Love Ya Baby" you can see his length a little better. And in "Kitteh Therepeh" you can see his paw size. "This Magic Moment" shows King Louie complete embrace Miss Sassafrass. Thanks for the comment.

  • cute...this will get a lot of views

  • I hope so. My family is having fun seeing the comments from animal lovers around the world. It seems Louie is popular in the Netherlands.

  • I'm so sorry about Dandy Doodle! (You posted a comment in my Dinkie the Maine Coon video and I had to come here and see your video!

How cute! I love it and your schnauzer is also adorable.

    I love the music too!

  • Thank you. Everyone loves King Louie, but Miss Sassafras is part of the adorable duo too.

    Dinke is a sweetie.

  • oh, and Louie has awesome lynx-tipped ears- one of the "breed standards"- so now computes that he has a famous sire. ;)

  • The breeder specialized in silver Maine Coones, but to keep the nice tabby pattern she would breed occasionally to a brown tabby. Louie was considered a "pet quality" kitty because his pattern wasn't as distinct on his sides. But we love his "brown sugar" coloring and think he is a thing of beauty.

  • I've only lately learned details of cat colors, as breeders classify them! I recently learned the official names for "blotched" and "mackerel" tabbies, even tho I've known many! Based on readings so far, I have mixed feelings about breeding cats for shows. I've learned that purebred Maine coons are susceptible to various genetic diseases (heart problems, hip problems)- it's good that breeders pay attention. But, I do wonder if those were problems before humans intervened in breeding.

  • You definately have to look for breeders who know what they are doing. We searched breeders in three states before we found someone who we felt was brilliant and aware of what she was doing. It was wonderful to walk into her home filled with dozens of huge, beautiful, adult Maine Coons all living in complete harmony with each other and the humans. They were all very calm and very engaging.

  • Also, you are right about genetic diseases. We are fortunate that Louie doesn't have heart problems or hip problems, but he is asthmatic. We have to administer an inhaler to him on a regular basis.

  • Prev comment was reply to "next" video.

And, I really like the fact that the Maine coon is a "natural breed"- that is, the breed evolved in the wild, w/o selective human intervention to make "designer cats". Not so many purebreds fall into that category- Norwegian forest cat is another that does- probably ancestor to Maine coon.

  • I definately think that is part of what makes Maine Coons special. They are like the Mustangs of the feline world. We happen to be a family that loves wildlife and that's what attracked us to our first Maine Coon.

  • And another question, just out of interest... where did you get Louie, and how did you decide to get a Maine coon?

  • Miss Sassafrass is a svelt 14 pounds. Louie is curled up in the video so you can't see his true gloriousness. His sire was on the cover of cat fancy! We got him from a lady who shows Maine Coons. We wanted a Maine Coon because we wanted the same great personality that our previous Maine Coon Recue kitty named Jerry had. We loved him so much, we knew we would never be happy with anything but a Maine Coon. They are better than human.

  • oh my! well, first off, you got a Maine coon from a rescue place? I don't have a kitteh right now, and I am still on the fence... too much kitty grief.. but, I have been thinking about it, and I am really torn between getting a rescue cat of whatever kind, and going for a Maine coon from a breeder. Never had a "pure bred" cat before, but from all of the reading and youtube watching I've done, I love the personality of Maine coons.

  • They don't show up in rescue often, but every breed has some unlucky members who loose their owners for some reason or another. Taking on a Maine Coon is definately a big decision, pun completly intentional. But seriously, it is very much like having another human who can make his demands known very clearly. And remember, big cat equals big poop.

  • All possible negatives considered... evening distrubtions, crowded beds, long hair, kitty on the piano, vocal presense, big poop, asthma, possible hip and heart problems...I would never have anything but a Maine Coon. They are better than humans.

  • I'll have to send you a link privately for what I call "the equine cat brush", because apparently YouTube stiffs links. It's actually a horse curry comb- long story as to how I discovered it, but I sent one to a friend in OR who got given an "unknown" cat, who, it turns out is most likely a Maine coon. Kitty loves it, and cut down the "hair everywhere" problem big time ;)

  • Yes, I have that very same brush.

  • OMG! Now that is just plain er... unexpected! Or, cosmic, or something... I was visiting my best college friend in CT, and we went to Agway so that she could get kitty litter etc. I was checking out cat brushes- thought the kitties needed a cat brush- but unsatisfactory selection there- and then stumbled into the equine area. I saw that brush, and thought "Aha!" This is IT.

  • It is funny isn't it. But I'm a farm girl, I knew his undercoat needed to managed properly or he would have health problems.

  • And yes, he is a gentle giant. He grooms humans too. Wait till you see the next video I post.

  • Oh, can't wait! ;)

  • OK, the new video is up. I had a friend come over today and this is what you get when you visit my home.

  • btw, you said Louie weighs 30 lbs! Well, that's a Maine coon for you! Gentle Giant. Just for the record, how much does Miss Sassafrass weigh? Looks like she weighs in at about the same.

  • LOL... another good one. Thanks for sharing.

The interesting thing is that I thought the cat was "mothering" the Schnauzer, but the cat is actually the male of the two. It's funny that he's so affectionate, but I heard that Maine Coons are good that way.

(I think I'd like to have a dog/cat combo someday with a Maine Coon and a Saint Bernard.) :-)

  • Very sweet, what a great video!

  • Great video and the music is also puurrrfect. LOL you two. You "darling" SIS

  • perfect song for the video! how did you find this?

  • Not at all! It's purrfect imho! It totally rocks.

  • oh wow! did you just add the music? fabulous! love vids with great music. Purrfect! You might add a bit of text explaining how Louie was heart-broken about the loss of #1 dog. I mean add in the description. Because that makes the story, really.

  • you are off to an incredibly good start! and so far, it looks like all well-deserved 5 stars. My five stars in def. in the count! Awesome.

  • This is a wonderful youtube, and moreso because of the story you posted in comments. It will be up at my kitteh place tomorrow. It deserves to go in to the "gazillion hits" at YT.

  • Too funny. It's almost like Louie is thinking "you still don't smell like a cat, just a little more..."

  • LOL "I have you in my power: sleep. Sleep." Too cute, 5 adorable stars!

    *StormSpinner1* in Texas
