He is NOT damaging the streetlight, Just sending the bright light of the laser into the photosensor which turns the light on or off according to how bright it is. Lightning flashes do the same thing. It tricks the lights into thinking it's daytime, so they turn off for a few seconds 'till they realise it's dark again. They are intended to work that way.

There's also sensors on street lights. If it detects bright light, it turns off. Kind of light a night light, when you shut off light, the night light turns on, but in reverse for street lights.

You can do it with a lot lower than 200mW, I even have a video on my account of doing this with only 30mW.

BTW, if you got that 200mW laser pointer off of eBay, it most likely is a lot weaker than 200mW.

I got this laser from a seller at LPF for $325, which is a great price for this thing. The $50 red one I have in the other videos is actually a better burner than this because it is focusable and it has a bigger beam diameter at aperture, it isn't as bright as this green one though.

Nope this one isn't from DX, I got it from a member at LPF, but you can shut off streetlights with the DX True 30 just as easily
