you learned it well. but no emotions. i know that look on your face. " i dont want to make a mistacke " .. still your good. ; ) keep working on your feel.
Lucy, you are amazing. You have already reached a level of playing that i never will. Please, use your talent well, and may whatever god presides over us bless you.
@bmylove4444 No one ever really directly answers that question. I don't know why. It's like asking a woman her age (*lol*) She looks so young so you gotta think she started a 4 or 5 or something to have had time to develop to where she's that good. I mean, she looks like she's 15 so you figure "how long could she have been playing" but the professional accomplishments on her website suggest she much older than that. I reckon you don't reach this level without many years of hard work.
How in the world to you get the guitar to stay still while you're playing this? I can't situate my Martin guitar in such a way as it doesn't slip when I have to have both hands off the guitar. Every time my guitar shifts slightly it messes me up.
Nice jobs on the harmonics, those are always a pain for me to play just normally, and there you are tapping them. So did you learn by music or tab(or ear)?
@Narutoxbleach503 Hey thanks :) I learned by watching the Youtube video of Andy playing it, just watched it over and over and then I could see what he was doing. I'd learned some songs in this style before so I already knew some of the techniques. All the harmonics in the song are tapped :)
@rayka Thanks, its a Taylor 110 with a LR Baggs m1 active pickup going into an AER Acoustic amp. The amp is not miced up because we weanted to use the natural ambience of the room.
@LucyOsbornMusic Love those AER acoustic amps. They are so loud and full of sound for such a small Amp. I wasn't sure if it was a 310 or a 110 cause they both use Sepelle wood. I kind of like the Laminated sides & Backs because of the strength they have. My ear can't tell the difference in sound from Laminated vs Solid at times. Great Playing.
Thanks for the tips. ok currently learning Heather's Song its got a really nice mix of harmonics and bass. I re-shared your vid on Facebook from the link on Chris' profile, hope you don't mind!
Hey Lucy, Chris pointed to it, it's a great cover, I haven't quite gotten used to the slap technique (and doesn't really work that well on a Classic acoustic!), just got a Gibson steel string acoustic, will give it another go! Any tips?
@WonderCooler Hey, glad you liked it! By slap technique do you mean the percussive hits on the body? General good tips are make sure the joints on your LH Index finger don't lock when playing because that can cause joint problems. Make sure the melody really sings out over the bass, which can be difficult to start with. Finally, experiment with the percussive sounds by hitting the guitar in different places, different guitars respond differently to being hit in the same place. Hope that helps!
really good job!!!! very nice!!! :))) cheers from greece!!!
