Absolutely lovely.. People who watches this movie if open the minds and the hearths can discover a gorgeous human production full of emotions. Superficial people think all the entire movie is long and badly made but I lived it more or less watching it. I wanna play this on the piano buuuut... XD I've just learned jingle bells... It will be very hard
Excuse me... can i download this?... if so, where? (no the Bethena of the original soundtrack, i say, this) ... this is a really beautiful song!. Thanks.
I've been playing Joplin since the early seventies. There is no scholarly consensus on how to play Joplin, let alone a single piece. Best to read what Joplin himself wrote about how to play "Ragtime," listen to lots of classical waltzes, then let the music speak to you and play it the way you it moves and speaks to you.
Generally, don't play "too fast," or "too slow," whatever THAT means, and make each phrase sing. Don't be afraid to take a little "ritard" at the ends of phrases...
I first heard Bethena in the 1979 SOS Titanic when some third class passengers were caught trying to pass through the first class dining room.

...but don't over do it, or play every phrase the same. Don't be afraid to take certain sections slightly faster, as you see fit.
Keep it simple. Elegant. That's Joplin. A true genius.

"its not about how well you play, it's how you feel about what you play". without feeling, we are nothing.
