  • Yeah Lance Ross wrote the Music to "Breakaway" and "On The Rocks" but after he left, they re-wrote the music to sound almost like it but the original was better. Lance has the masters of the first versions.

  • seen these guys in Houston way back in the day.. I still have the e.p. cassette I got at the show along with a flyer.

  • It's amazing what you can find here...

Lance Ross & I wrote this song for our band High Voltage in like '81. Lance joined SS for a stint (went to LA) & Joey changed the lyrics/melody to fit their style. In my opinion this was their best song & Lance made them a million times better! Chris was a decent rhythm guitarist at best. I think it sucks that there aren't any videos of SS with Lance here... Anyways, Lance came back & we formed Gypsy Blue then later Gypsies,Tramps & Thieves. Good times...

  • There's Irene rocking out at the front of the stage!

  • This band should have been HUGE!!! Hung with them in Tampa, FL back in the day - 1986. Joey C. Jones is a great guy. They were awesome - still love listening to their stuff!

  • Sweet Savage from Dallas TX, took Hollywood by storm, and pissed off the competition in the process. Half the band and the road crew lived in my Hollywood apartment living room, until I had to physically 'extract' back pay from the road manager who ran away crying when I had to beat his lazy ass. Chris, Lane, Joey, Randy, you guys will always be remembered by me, We had a lot of good times together, and had to deal with that shark, Dana Strum, lol.

    Cheers,

    Rik Fox

  • This isnt sweet savage !!!!

  • Actually it is minus Vivian Campbell on guitar

  • rubbish, but still puts to shame most bands today! haha

  • not rubbish, joey c. jones is awsome.

  • look at the synchronized head bang and arm raise at 0:40 lol

  • sheridans guitar looks good

  • What the fuck is up with the crowd, that hurts to see so few people in the audience..

  • Is There any more videos of sweet savage in youtube?

  • ya man. they also have joey c jones and the glory hounds. check out "do ya"

  • And Shock Tu

  • You should check out a band on youtube called Durtie Blonde, if you're into unknown, killer glam bands from the 80's...

  • Is There any more videos of sweet savage in youtube?

  • I remember living in the same apartment complex that Joey lived in Dallas. Brings back memories of the Sweet Savage days when they were kickin' ass in Dallas and Houston! Joey and Chris Sheridan were two of the most down to earth people that you would ever meet and always took the time in between sets to hang out and party with! I did not know Laine Sheridan and Randy St. John as well. I'm glad that I was fortunate to call them my friends! Thanks for posting this vid!!!

  • So you shared the same digs as Joey? Cool. I remember Laine's apartment. If memory serves, it was on Melody Lane (?) near Northwest Highway and Greenville. Despite their glam appearance, Sweet Savage were down-to-earth. Probably Laine and Chris' Midwest roots. And no one did Bon Scott like Joey!

  • I thought Chris was an outstanding guitarist and his self-made guitars were awesome! Joey was very good when it came to Bon Scott! I do remember Joey falling down a few times during their concerts from turning the bottle up but he always got back up without missing a word of lyrics although his girlfriend/fiance would get embarrased. If I recall, her name was Diane or Diana just to show that I knew them! I'm glad that Chris is doing ok despite his near death plane crash when he was flying...

  • These 2 post was in response to Eelgram. Great to see Laine doing well with his Artwork along with him be a Captain and diving with dolphins in the wild! I'm not sure what Randy is doing these days, seems like I heard that he is still Rockin' in the Big "D"! Take care to all the guys from Sweet Savage and all of the fans that followed S.S.!!!

  • It was Dena, and their little girls name is Jade. My boyfreind (EX,now and Joey were like brothers for years and Joey used to stay with us when they played Houston. Holy Shit...now that was what I'd call "THE AFTER-PARTY". Joey taught me how to do the ZEEK WILLY.Fun times fo' sure !!!

  • I used to catch these guys at Savvy's in Fort Worth. Man, this takes me back! I even enjoyed the "Lance Ross years" at Matley's Phase II in Dallas. Never were the "misspent" days of my youth better spent :-)
