tbh he hasnt made his induction coil properly and his magnet placement could do with some modification as well, note the resistance when he was hand spooling the "generator" . i would never use this on a wind turbine, way too much internal resistance. if it actually worked it would soon overheat and die and the magnets would be fried in a pretty short frame of time

If you want to test a dynamo, you may want to use a motor before you add it to a turbine, a bike, etc. but when you have the generator but you don't have a turbine, a bike, etc., you make your generator spin with your hands or with an electric motor!!!!!!

His design might not be too efficient, but this vid doesn't deserve so many bad comments.

IF confused, it's simply the process of taking kinetic energy and transforming it into electric energy when the rotation of magnets and the coil(or alternating the energy form, which is why the alternator in your car is called an alternator). In this case the kinetic energy comes from the small electric motor he is using to showcase that it works. Ideally, you would attach this to a fan(wind turbine) or paddle(such as in dams).
