As a bloke nearing his 50's I can not believe I have found this tune on YT. I have searched google, itunes and practically everywhere for years to get a version. It was my favourite tune as a young soldier in the early 80's. I am absolutely chuffed to bits. Now how do I get it from here onto my ipod?
@simplyeightiesdotcom ...hee hee, youre not gonna believe this but i swear i wanted it on cassette but the record shop at the time only had it on LP.I still have it but the last time i played it back in 1997 because i wanted to hear Juice Newton[correct?]-angle of the morning and needle got stuck in the groove half way through the song;but id say if i gave it a good cleaning and played it on a good solid turntable,it would play fine.there were amazing incredible tracks on there!take care,Denis.
absolutely outstanding! i remember walking into a record shop with the sole purpose of buying this song in 1982. and i did! loved it then and love it now. been looking for it again for years and years - believe me i am so happy now! Great to read comments from various band members and their rellys - you MUST reform and stick it to Radio 1 !!!!!! Thank you.
Wow, reading the comments all the members (or their offspring) of the band have posted here!. Great stuff, I loved this tune back in the day, put buggles to shame. This really needs to go on Itunes.....
Blast from the past!! Fantastic to hear it again!! I sang along to this on Tiger Tim's Aff It's Heid Show on Radio Clyde!! Lol!! I bought the single way back in '82 but I gave a loan of it to someone and never got it back so thanks for posting!! ;-)
Wonderful to hear this again. I actually bought the single (yes! It was me!) and was disappointed the the band stalled after this.... Was anything else ever released?
I was at a meeting at the record company that released this when the white label copies arrived in the office, as I'm a 'helen' they insisted on playing it in the meeting, I've always remembered the song but can't remember which record company it was.
Congrats everyone who was involved in this. I have never forgotten it from The (Swap Shop) Multicoloured Music Show which I have on VHS. I am just transferring it to DVD so it will last another 25 years and looked it up on Google.
Rob - the Dots made me go wa-oh-oh - have probably spelt it wrong, but you get the gist. Must have been living in a barren musical wasteland when that was released. Truly fab!
My dad sends his regards back at you Rodger. Hope you are well. timbo808 - Lennon/McCartney learnt everything they knew from your dad and my dad... They clearly set the standard.
Outstanding. I've been looking for this track for ages. One of those tunes I remember from Swap Shop and a music review of the year, been bugging me for ages. Thank God for Youtube. Thanks for posting mate!.
Can't believe I found this on YouTube or that anyone else even remembers it. I bought this single back in 1982(ish.)Fantastic pop song, gr8 video, a real load of fun. Absolutely criminal that it didn't chart .... perhaps time for a Dots revival?
I was given to understand that one of EMI's 'pluggers' gave a radio one dj a set of headphones early on which were intended as thank yous after the song had 'run it's course' - they were hot on any thing that smacked of a 'sweetener' at the time and pulled it after just two plays. It died at number 96!
FAB!!! Won a copy of this 7" (DJ version) from Centre Radio in Leicester (The station that went bust before ILR came back to Leicester as Leicester Sound) as well as buying the normal release. Who was the DJ voiceover?
Tell you mum that at the time as an impressionable 16 year old I fancied her like mad!
This song literally popped in my head the other day for no reason whatsoever and so I had a quick look on YouTube and lo and behold here it is! I remember buying the record and playing it to death even though all my mates hated it. I also recall with deep shame dancing like an idiot to this at a party when no one else would.....
