check out Tones on Tail "Instrumental" and Love and Rocket's "Saudade".
in fact, also check out "The other way of stopping" by the police, it's similar in some ways, and a great track (before the police went super mainstream). One
of their few instrumentals.
reply when yer done im curious as to what you think :)
@Brock2097 was just rehashing this convo for my wife finding similar stuff - REGATTA DE BLANC is equally interesting int he same vein. I should make a playlist of post-punk instrumentals like this stuff ;)
@grungegirl18: Yep - and i could beat up snobs who compare them to The Strokes Or White Stripes, for me retro bands without any deeper musical instincts.
@MrSKINFLICK Agreed. I like newer bands too, but you just can't replicate that dirty old retro punk sound. You could feel there was something real put into it, not like these cookie cutter bands that just copy and paste from the past.
Agreed, too - but the 70s and the early 80s were a magic age of arts and music, people were less affected and hysterical than today. I would say that the influence of this period was lasting quite long - partly till about the second half of the 90s in certain cases, after that time lots of things went downhill. Today they have the best sound recording facilities ever, but lots less of inspiration.
The whole "Jane From Occupied Europe" LP is a stroke of genius !
increible banda, muy menospreciada, pero siempre vamos a existir los melomanos para escuchar bandas tan grandes como esta

@sizone Big fan of the Police track (hell, that's their best album in my mind) but haven't heard the others, thanks for recommending!

@grungegirl18:
This isn´t even "punk" anymore, the music press used to call it post-punk, but sometimes "silly" terms are not sufficient anymore....!
