  • OMG. I used to have this as a child. My sister and I loved it. I don't think we have the tape anymore, but thank goodness I found this!

  • oh,I had this,in Italian though..

  • If this read along came out in 1977, same year as the film, why didn't the film cast reprise their roles for this?? Because the voices are completely different. Medusa's voice is too high and so is Bianca's. And Bernard sounds he has a cold. The only one closest to the original voice is Penny. And where the hell is Rufus?! He was the one who told them about Penny!

  • @boffinme80 I don't think there has ever been a Disney read-along book that featured all the original actors reprising their roles.

The original dialog tracks were most likely recorded during either 1973 or 1974 (Joe Flynn, voice of Snoops had died in 1974).

  • @vnisanianisback Don't be stupid. I said the film was in 1977 and so was this recording. I KNOW, my parents had it! They don't know why the cast didn't reprise their roles. And there are many Disney read-alongs that DID have the actors reprise their roles. The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, to name a few. And some of the older ones. These records came out when the film did, or a year after so I don't know what you are on about.

  • @boffinme80 I'm not being stupid. The voice acting in any animated feature is usually recorded before the animation, about a year or so prior to its release.

  • @vnisanianisback the following characters will appear in Disney Think Fast: The 2nd Edition for the Wii - Snoops, Princess Mia, Cinderella, Phineas, Charlotte LaBeouff, Darkwing Duck, Kit Cloudkicker, Ariel, Aladdin, American Dragon Jake Long, TJ Rottweiler, Becky Rottweiler, Webbigail Vanderquack, Prince Eric and Casey Carlyle.

  • I like the book, it's short so it just gets straight to the point unlike the film.

  • @MrMcb1990 - The movie has a few scenes that drag, but it's actually VERY charming, beautifully atmospheric, and full of heart. EASILY one of my top 5 favorites. Yeah, that's right. Of the 40+ animated features they've made to date, Rescuers is among what I'd call the top 10 best.

  • It's cute, but it's a shame that they skipped so many great parts, such as the visit with Rufus at Morningside Orphanage, and Madame Medusa's phone conversation with Mr. Snoops at her pawn shop office. I like hearing the film's unreleased background music score along with the narration.

  • I used to have the tape version of this twelve years ago. And the book.

  • That is Paul Frees as the narrator! What a voice!

  • @bingfan22 Wait, that was Paul Frees!? Damn, I never realized that!

  • "lonely little orphan girl named Penny had been kidnapped & brought there by 2 terrible people.... She hoped someone somewhere would... rescue her." grrreat to grow up wit!

  • @4L10715 You said it. I haven't heard this in many years.
