CHC have provided 15 years of SAR service in Ireland following on from 5 years of Irish Helicoters / Bristows previously with S61N's. Shortly there will be proven S92's which have been operated by CHC for several years in Scotland with immense success including last years record total of 206 rescue callouts for the Stornoway base.

@elmo575 The air corps dont have the same equipment CHC have the sikrorski can fly allot farther then the air corps main chopper it can also lift more and is the size of a bus (more people can be rescued at once). sadly the air crops cant afford the sicroski chopper due to lack of funding. so unless we get more money, i dont see the air corps regaining the contract any time soon
@scoutwitgun Incase you didn't know the CHC contract was renewed September of last year over much controversy and totaled €533 million. Enough to buy the IAC a nice fleet of S92's or AW101's.

Would love to see the SAR contract given back to the air corps!
