Gag! She had nothing to fuckin say. believe it or not, Rand actually will work to maintain her freedom of speech. She is like the ignorant masses...has no idea.
Lutz/Hyneman study of American political writings shows that Montesquieu was #1, Blackstone was #2 and Locke was #3 most cited authors by our founders. John Locke is the father of liberalism. John Locke 8/29/1632 to 10/28/1704.
She wasn't arrested for fined or had her property seized for the booing and doesn't this woman realize that the Pauls compare more to Grover Cleveland than George Bush jr and sr?
This lady must understand that Rand is NOT a neocon, he is a Constitutionalist. She is entitled to speak her mind, but she has no respect to what until the presentor finishes what he has to say.
@residentzombie I've yet to meet a "Constitutionalist" who actually respects ALL of the Constitution. They are just fanatical about the bits they like.. or the bits they believe are their (seen plenty that haven't appeared to have read it).
At most, it seems "Constitutionalists" only respect the flawed core document and the 2nd Amendment. They'll pay lip service to the 1st.. like when the paul supporters beat up the woman last night for exercising her 1st.
@ffakr Paul supporters have a 1st too idiot. The document is flawed to you because socialism won't fit in the Constitution in this country. Go take your socialist butt and move to Canada. America is about freedom, not force.
No, the original document is flawed because women couldn't vote and blacks were considered sub-human. The fact that we have amended it so many times is a testament to the flaws.
You appear to consider yourself one of these so-called constituionalists. What's your take on suffrage, and slavery, and black people being 3/5s of a person? You don't think the Constitution was flawed?
PS.. do you even know what Socialism is? Look it up.
@ffakr You don't know jack about the history of America. Look King George made slavery legal in the colonies and the southern colonies especially took advantage of that. When the Constitution was drafted, the founders knew that having the southern states agree to ratify it would not be easy because of the slavery issue. Slaves were a major population factor in the southern states and it had to be figured out how a slave would be counted for census purposes.
Your arguments are completely incoherent and factually incorrect.
"The King in council,on Dec. 10, 1770, issued an instruction, under his own hand, commanding the governor of Virginia, " upon pain of the highest displeasure, to assent to no law by which the importation of slaves should be in any respect prohibited or obstructed.""
Even if you were correct, this has no bearing on the fact that slavery WAS NOT barred in the original constitution.
@residentzombie These are my last posts because your posts are increasingly incoherent and off topic.
THERE (not Their) may not have been a Constitution ratified if Slavery was banned but that's completely irrelevant to my argument that the original Constitution was flawed, if only by todays standards. You argue above that it was flawed by the standards of the 1700s too, so good job. My critique is of people who worship the founders as diety and the Constitution as literal and flawless.
@ffakr You are also avoiding the issue of what true classical liberalism is with the actions of people how believed in it. If a rapist supports Obama then according to your logic all Obama supporters are rapists. I bet you have no idea what classical liberalism is.
Again, your post is incoherent. Where was there a post on "the issue of what true classical liberalism is with the actions of people how believed in it." If you'd like to go there, Classical Liberalism gave us the abolition, suffrage, equal rights, equal pay, the 40hr work week, the prohibition of child labor.. BTW, slow down or get a GED, your grammar is hard to follow.
How exactly do you conflate the rapist and all supporters being rapists? It's a BS attack on me.
I clearly stated "I've yet to meet a "Constitutionalist" .." The important bit you've ignored is "I've yet to meet".
I'll concede my other points seemed generalized but in the context of my opening statement, I'm referring to every one I've met. On this I apologize, but I'd like an example of a "constitutionalist" who respects every aspect of the current Constitution/Amends.
I stated that the Constitution was flawed at adoption. I questioned whether the people who worship the Constitution as to whether they argree with it. If you don't believe in Slavery, you apparently agree with me that the Constitution was a flawed document. Thank you.
@ffakr Jefferson didn't like slavery and knew it was hypocritical of how his view of classical liberalism was. No man is perfect, but that's why they laid the foundation for future generations to outlaw it. Wasn't easy, it took a Civil War to do so.
@residentzombie Classical Liberalism was an ideology that was developed in the 19th century, well after the ratification of the Constitution. Again.. not addressing my arguments.
Jefferson was coopted by CLs in retrospect. The Declaration is noted.
Jefferson was NOT a classical liberal though. Does this sound like a CL?
"..Whenever there are in any country uncultivated lands and unemployed poor, it is clear that the laws of property have been so far extended as to violate natural right."
@Martial024 the pauls actually wants to legalize marijuana and stop the bogus war on drugs that makes such horrible penalties for ppl caught with drugs
Sorry, can't get everyone to see the light. I can't hear nor understand what this lady says. She's apparently, uncomfortable hearing what Rand has to say. She does have a right to her own thinking as does everyone else. Thats what freedom is about. Don't get down on her too much. She just doesn't seem to have enough understanding of whats going on with our government.
OMG! Am I hearing this right? Government is the Constitution? Obviously she hasnt read the constitution but I even doubt that she can read. No wonder our founding fathers saw democracy and collectivism as danger to our nation. Full of idiot voters like her and Miss South Carolina, we are doomed.
I see that everyone is in agreement.......what was this women talking about....what empty head especially compare bush to Rand Paul; maybe she should compare bush and obama....because they have alot more in common
Typical excuse: blame President Bush. It's always his fault!
And isn't it ironic that she claims the Bush administration tried to "stifle free speech," when it's Obama and his corrupt colleagues that are trying to establish the fairness doctrine and are attacking Fox News! That sounds like stifling free speech to me! Her theatrics were totally inappropriate and out of place at the forum, which was supposed to focus on community problem solving, not politics. Grow up, lady.
Oh yeah, can tell she's realllly concerned about the Constitution.
Hey lady, your sloshy brains are affecting your teeth. Try leaning to the left next time you're eating corn on the cob through a tennis racket, mkay? Freak.
is anyone here a student from this university? if so can you tell me if she is a teacher at your school? if you say yes, i will be haunted by that answer. to think this woman is about to educate another person when she can't even express her disagreement in an educated manner, and that she can't even define the freedom of speech properly. being asked to explain your opinion in a civilized fashion without violence is not a violation of your first amendment, so she tries to reinstate it? lol.
What exactly is her point? She booed Rand Paul because it was her first amendment right to do so?Followed by her reminiscing the 'glory days' of '69?And the sixties peace movement was all about loving government? Oh, and she went to school in [yellow] journalism, which I suppose is her not-so-subtle way to give herself credibility? Trey Parker summed up people like this the best: "aging liberal hippie douches."She's an idiot who thinks the constitution is a protector of the gov't, not the people.
I guess she wants the "freedom of speech" protestors at the G20 Summit enjoyed. We can all look forward to more of the same the bigger Government grows.
freedom of speech just means the government doesn't have authority to stop you from speaking out through force funded by the tax payer's money.. it doesn't mean your right is violated when you troll a private speech with a tiny brain and get called out for what you're doing.
this lady is obviously in need of mental treatment, or possibly forget to take her medication that day. Look at her eyes, they seem to tell all. Her sentences were in-coherent as well, revolving around a childhood evoked emotion that hasn't been resolved so she seeks out a "daddy" figure to lash out at.
Hey lady, when you get on "Wheel of fortune" you need to buy a brain, not a vowel.
