I saw the show, Craig was asking if he became President ,would he rush his citizenship application thru (he wasn't a citizen as of then) Ferguson and Huckabee had been joking along hte whole time. I'm surprised the other republicans didn't use this little bit against him, as I was watching the night it happened and as soon he said it I said to my parents who were watching with me "he just shot himself, the other Republicans will defeinitly cut that out and use it on him.

Huckabee was referring to TWO specific ammendments to the constitution (abortion and marriage) and not re-writing the entire constitution! Get all the info before assuming insane things.

Our founding fathers didn't create "the separation of church and state", it was only MENTIONED once by one of them. It is NOT in the constitution nor anywhere else in the law.

Every president's decision is made because of a moral opinion of theirs. The only difference is what belief it is based on, and every president has some sort of moral standard, and I don't think the Bible is a bad one at that.

It is not in the constiturion verbatim, but it IS in the law - the SCOTUS has interpreted the exclusion clause of the 1st Ammendment to include the seperation of church and state, and has quoted it in decisions. That makes it the law of the land. And in addition to Jefferson, Madison (who drafted the original constitution) used the exact words. Think all you want about the bible, I'm not bound by it's fairy tales.

I know you don't. First of all, the president doesn't "make laws." Second, if you look at the constitution, every ammendment but one (which was repealed) was to GRANT more rights to people, not take them away. What's right is to give other people the same freedoms and privileges you enjoy. No one wants to stop a man from marrying a woman, or force a man to marry another man. Now are you starting to see? In what way does allowing gay marriage hurt you? Lots of ways prohibiting it hurts others.

Er, no. You totally miss the point. Huckabee thinks that his personal religious beliefs trump the Constitution. Whether his beliefs are right or wrong, it is not up to him to decide - at least, it is in this country. And there is certainly plenty in Huck's belief system about the relationship b/t men and women thay others don't subscribe to.

BTW any amendments to the Constitution need to be approved by the majority of the people so don't act like it'd be Huckabee doing it by himself. We WANT the constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman and to protect every single human life.
