Government creating money out of thin air and spending more money than it can print is what is killing the economy. It's inflation.

It's been proven at least three times now that when you lower taxes, consumers spend more, businesses expand, employers hire more people and government tax revenue skyrockets and welfare rolls go down.

When you raise taxes, the exact opposite happens and things slow things down.

Taxes were meant to fund our government not a 2 trillion dollar a year welfare state.

Wasn't it part of Al Gore's plan to increase taxes on gasoline in order to raise prices and get people to drive less? Now when oil prices are up and the government isn't raking in the extra dough it's suddenly conservative policies that drive prices.

Why can't we build nuclear power plants? Get away from coal power? Use our own oil resources? Build new refineries? Allow Cuba and China to drill in the Gulf of Mexico but we can't?

The tree-huggers and liberal hippy douche bags, that's why.

So consume less energy in the mean time, and push companies into greener practices. Make Bush sign the Kyoto protocol.

Solar Power is too inefficient and expensive at the moment to do any good, and then what do you do on cloudy days or during the night?

Wind farms sound great, but what happens when the wind slows down or stops blowing at all.

Oil is ALL WE HAVE right now. Until someone puts something out there that can compete with the internal combustion engine, we're stuck.

As for Kyoto it's worthless. Dig a little deeper and you'll see that the costs far outweigh the potential benefits there...
