Dude the simpsons is my favorite show. I have most of the dvds. Even though they aren't as good as they once were, i'd say they're on the upswing. This season has been decent so far. I dug the flight of the conchords ep.

Also the train sequence at the end is sick. Did you use the same camera for every angle? If so, rad.

I just finished watching all the Season 6 commentaries, John Lovitz on "A Star is Burns" is great, always going on about how Al jean & Mike Reiss (?) are gay lovers. I agree it went downhill around s9/10, but the sets are worth buying for the commentaries.

THE BEST! al jean and mike reiss were the dudes who made the critic. they were the show runners on the simpsons for seasons like 2 and 3 and then went to do the critic. the commentary on the critic dvd are the same people. he makes the sames jokes. lovits is the best. the critic was the first TV on DVD i ever bought. ive watched that dvd more than you could possibly know.

david mirkin's commentary is the best. hes always funny but gives cool info. mirkin was the best.

@GordonEveryDeuce I bought The Critic set during the summer actaully, never seen the show and haven't got round to watching it yet. I love on one commentary in Simpsons s4 or 5 when Lovitz says he was the inspiration for the whole show.

All that said, I still watch the new episodes. The Skully era episodes were the worst, but it improved a little bit after he left. Oakly and Weinstein definitely had the best episodes. ALF Pogs!

The Simpsons turned to shit around season 11. I forgot what season had the Africa episode, but that's the first episode I really hated. I'll stick with the first 10 seasons, those are the only seasons I own and will ever own. And I hate the head packaging, too messy, which doesn't really matter since I threw all the packaging out to condense space when I moved. Just gotsa da discs. The first 2 seasons, story wise, were still great. Animation and acting wise, not so much.

I've been finding the recent simpsons episodes actually pretty funny these days...for a while there I lost hope. It just takes them so long to create a single episode that they really can't talk about any relevent news......doesn't it take like 8mths for one episode??? south park takes like a week and family guy....I dunno, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't take nearly as long to create an episode.....

Ahhh, I love The Simpsons. Season 4 is probably my favorite - Mr. Plow, Duffless, Treehouse of Horror III are really great and remind me how I use to tape the eps each week on VHS. Great vid, thumbs up!

A shame that The Simpsons isn't what it used to be. I've been saying it for years now... they need to turn it into a drama/comedy and make the characters start to age, give it a continuing storyline.

@TheWisestWizards without david mirkin or josh weinstein and bill oakley theyre shid. i liked the simpsons movie a lot. it was the wholeeee crew wrote wrote that, but i guess when mike skully became the show runner after 2001 i think... thats when it started to not be the best... after him al jean takes over and its been meh all the time. always less heart compared to the early ones.

them getting older is a cool idea, but i think its too late. or well who knows.
