a couple of decades ago, the Taliban stopped all the poppy farming in Afghanistan. The flow of good, cheap narcotics virtually dried up in the U.S. and music creativity suffered tremendously. Now that "we" are back in control over there, the poppy is growing again and the cheap narcotics are once again flowing to our shores (thanks, CIA). I expect the music to start improving real soon so don't be too dis-heartened by the crap you hear on the radio these days. It'll come around again.
I was there that entire weekend for the US Festival. The night that Stevie sang, I was just a couple of hundred feet from the front stage and she had everyone in my vicinity in the palm of her hand. Her show was brilliant and a great way to start winding down the weekend after so much incredible rock and roll for days.

getting her to make ea nite and finish concert tour was difficult. but ... whats done is done.

I was there with about 5 of my buddies from NAS Miramar. She was hammered. Didnt even know if it was her set or not. Back up singers saved her ass.
