  • @justbasl Hey quick question, where did you get the slotted cable for the motor. There is a small glimpse of it in your video. Thanks.

  • @DukeNukemFlyingDan Nevermind, thanks.

  • @DukeNukemFlyingDan it is the cable from the Kessler Pocket Dolly, but you can usually find that type of belt at an auto parts store.

  • @justbasl

Hi, could you send the materials list. Quite clever you are. Thank you.

  • cute GF :P

  • If possible please email list to info@welcometosmg[dot]com

  • Great build justbasl

  • @shane8109 Thanks!

  • how long are the hex bolts??

  • @izaya35 I believe I used 1" bolts. I dry fitted everything in Home Depot before I left just to make sure everything worked. I pretty much laid everything out in an isle. That way I would forget anything or buy the wrong parts.

  • like everyone else I would love a materials list. but mostly I would like to know the name and spec of the two rails you used, which is the basis of the whole build. everything else is pretty explanatory. well done DIY. it looks far better than all the others I have seen.

  • @weaponeer Thanks, the rail is called uni-strut and you can find it in the electrical isle.

  • Nice video can you Please send full list to Tomryu@hotmail.com

    Thanks for share

    likelystudio@gmail.com

  • Are you sure this is "DIY" ??

  • @vasudevman93 oh yeah for sure!

  • Awesome build!

The best one I found 'till now.

    Thks!

  • where did u buy the timing belt and pulley from?

  • @MrCrazyeyes001 that pulley is on the Kessler Pocket Dolly

  • '

    nice video,,,

i see 2 axles from skateboard

  • Love the slider enough to make one myself! My issue is the wheels... What size wheels did you use?

  • @JmurryFC just standard ones that you can buy at target

  • Can you email me the material list. Fraire789@yahoo.com

  • Comment removed

  • Nice video, what size is the center plate?

  • Thats what i looking for can i have a complete list of the material? My e-MAIL IS MROJAS_1998@YAHOO.COM THAN YOU FOR SHARE THIS GREat video.

  • Havae you made a motorized version of this?

  • @WakeUpDummies I have not made a motorized version yet, but there are a lot of good videos out there now that have shown examples. A lot of them buy their parts from servo city.

  • @justbasl THanks. I noticed Servo City is a great option for this project

  • Hey could I get an email of all the materials please?

  • what is strut in english? I can't find anything like that here in UK

  • @reballuk you can usually find it in the electrical isle at your hardware store. Not sure what they call it over there?

  • @justbasl thnx in UK i found out we call it "unistrut" I found it on ebay they seem to all be 41mm wide but they don't specify the empty gap space so hopefully it'll work with my 76mm inline kater wheels.

  • @reballuk great! I am glad you found it!

  • How much did It cost to build?

  • @WhoIsCosy It all depends on the add ons and if you have any parts laying around. But you can build it for under $75.00. Also the length will determine to cost. If you want to build a 5 foot (which i recommend) The strut comes in 10 foot lengths, so you would only have to buy one!

  • That freakin sweet

U should try to hook up a stepper motor so it moves it slowly for time lapses

  • @ShortyzProductionz yeah there are some really cool motors from servo city!

  • charlie@fadedfly.com.

Do you build these to sell?

    Thanks,

  • @fadedflyllc I currently have one built that I am willing to sell "the original"

  • @fadedflyllc can you send me a price ?

  • waiting for the electronics, the key part for time-lapse photography.

  • @niswangermorgan I dont think I will be motorizing this system, but there are a lot of cool videos of guys that have motorized their dollies by getting parts from servo city.

  • Very cool indeed, are you selling these systems? If you wouldn't mind, please send me the parts list.

    Thanks

  • @fadedflyllc sure, send me your email address and Ill send it over

  • plz love it....it looks professional with the black paint plz email all the parts my eamil is pappasappoos@yahoo.co.in.......plz email loved it u r seriously creative

  • @allcoolnohot Thanks, I sent them over to you.

  • how much would you take for the 3ft. bearing in mind that i don't have a clue how much this stuff would normally cost would you seel it for £200 BP sterling?

  • @BBMJ21Login For the rails and cart I can do it for that much, but it all depends on how much it is for shipping. where are you located?

  • i need the full list please!

  • Hi this is really cool, looking to build something like this could you please email me a parts list thanks, my email is: wilsonphotographic@hotmail.co.uk

  • FIRST : I'M A FEMALE

SECOND : I'M A FEMALE AND WTF I CANT DO SUCH THINGS LIKE THIS

    -______-

  • @celynkafinlanda thats why you use your womanly charm to get a guy to do it for you! lol

  • @justbasl great idea, would you make it for me ? LOL

  • @celynkafinlanda I got one I can sell to you ;)

  • @justbasl you make and sell em? If you do, how much? XD

  • @domdom I have a few already built. I have a 7 foot track and a 3 foot track. I am taking best offers!

  • Thanks!

  • Hi! Thanks for sharing this video.

What kind of rail did you use in this project?

I´m looking for something similar in my country...

  • @gatalejandro Its called Uni-Strut in my country and you can usually find it in the electrical isle of a hardware store

  • Hi can you change the roller skate wheel for rollerblade wheels? thanks

  • @cruiserus1 you could but I dont think it would ride on the track as well.

  • Working on building the same set up... Might want to add how heavy the tracks are WOW I'm only making a 5ft slider

  • @rccrazy30 Yeah I build a 3 foot and a 5 foot track. The track is definitely easier to transport as a 3 foot.

  • thank you so much

  • @j4416m you got it!

  • I love your DIY ethic! Can I get a list of the parts as well?

  • Graduate film student here. I made a modified version of your dolly and the same trax and it was used in three of our student films this year. All the footage looks amazing! FYI: All i used during construction was a hack saw, a drill, a ratchet set, a file, and some clamps. Easy. Ill send you links once the films are ready.

  • Great stuff! Where did you get those struts? Home Depot?

    Thanks!

  • @BrianKelseyCreative Yeah you can get them on the electrical isle

  • Great build! Hoping I can get the parts list from you as I'd like to build my own.

    Let me know, thanks!

  • Hey justbasl, i built a slider that is eerily similar to yours. its honestly almost the exact same design. Heres my problem, when i attach it to my tripod, it dips about an inch or 2 at ether end. my track is only 3 feet long. I used the strut bar for the track, so its not like its bending. When the weight of the camera shifts from side to side, it just tilts the rig slightly. Can you email me some pics of how you attached it to the tripod? because thats my issue. Thanks, Alex

  • @astang21 I ended up just screwing it to the top of my kpod head. If you are having tilting issues, I would suggest using two tripods, on at either end or two light stands.

  • @justbasl Well yes, but this has to be very portable and i do not have another tripod ready for use. Im going to be using this out on the ski slopes so portability and easy assembly are huge issues. Does yours tilt at all or even a little when you have it just attached to one tripod?

  • @astang21 Mine does sag a little bit on the 7 foot version. I have found that it is too bulky for just one tripod so I use a few or a few light stands. You have to have a really solid head to take the stress of the dolly being out on the outer edges of the track. A couple light stands are actually pretty light and cheap! You could fit two of them in a tripod bag and take it with you. Ypu can get a decent light stand for like $35.00 and if you wanted a bag too, it would only be another $30.00

  • Worst Song Ever!!!

  • hey, can u send me the parts list?

  • Excellent Vid...I'm just starting out, i purchased the Canon 7D.. i really like this set up,how can i receive the part list? out of all the DIY..i find this is the best one.

Please respond soon as you can... Thanks

    Good Job....

  • @MAJESITIS Thanks! Just sent you the list in a message

  • @justbasl I have looked and looked as well and your design seems to be the best around. Would you mind sending me the parts list as well?

    Thanks - Jared

  • How much to build?

  • @defnyung The 7 foot track was just around $100 with all the parts. It would be even cheaper if you went with a 5 foot track.

  • great work & cracking footage...thanx for sharing!

  • on one shoot of yours i saw a teeth belt for motorized use ,right?

i would be realy greatfull if you could sent me a link to find a custom lenght teeth belt

  • @BisdremisKostas That belt that you saw in my video was from my Kessler Pocket Dolly. But you can get that belt material at either a hardware store or an auto supply store. I have been working on a new dolly system that I hope to incorporate this belt system!

  • Nice Job!

  • @stluciesheriff Thanks!

  • Great work, could I get a list of parts as well?

  • send you a massage in your channel... tks man!!!

  • Hi. Very usefull. Could you send me a list of the parts for the Spider Trax Dolly. my email: perollgaard@email.dk

    Thanks a lot

  • Great set up would like to have your parts list too please.

    Thank you

  • Hi great smooth shots. Could you send me a list of parts needed, thanks!

  • @victordasdsa sent it to you as a message!

  • I totally agree. So compact yet pretty powerful at the same time. Like Mighty Mouse, lol.

I sent out a tweet a couple days ago to show it off and sent you a shout out in the process. Just in case you were wondering why you were mentioned, tis the reason.

  • @Arteesimo Got that, thanks! I appreciate the shout out!

  • Finally took some snaps of my dolly. I also have a 5ft track but no glamour shots for it just yet. Anyhoo, dolly here: devisionlab com/dolly

  • @Arteesimo Looks good man! I love this thing. It is such a solid build with minimal parts.

  • My comments won't post so testing, testing

  • hi can you send me the material list too and an approximate price

  • @RideMyCannonRail sent you a message

  • Hello, this is great. Can I have a materials list, as well as some direction on how to connect it to a tripod? Thanks.

    John

  • @MrDunfordMedia Send you a message and you can connect it by using your quick release plate on your tripod

  • i am looking for ward to see the version with motor , when can we see it ? :) thanks for sharing :)

  • @weirdstrokes There have been a lot of guys releasing motor systems with their DIY dollies and mine was going to be very similar. So I decided to put the motor system on hold. But if you are looking for a great motor system, you should try servo city online.

  • awesome!

  • Good job

  • @jvgkitesurfer Thanks!

  • what camera did you use to shot that film??? tks and awesome job man... congrats!!!

  • @ilusaosemlimite Thanks, I used the Canon T2i to shoot this video!

  • @justbasl how did you render this... because i also have a T3i and i dont have this quality in my videos... plz... if could tell me id be glad!!! and congrats again, u helped em a lot!!!

  • @ilusaosemlimite I am assuming you are wondering which codec I rendered it to? I rendered it to an H.264 quicktime at 30fps. I shot it at 1920X1080 30fps. Hope this helps!

  • @justbasl mmm... i do the same, but my videos aren't good as yours... well... anyway... i'll try more things... congrats again man... ur channel is awesome!!!

  • @ilusaosemlimite Hmm Im not sure why there are not rendering the same. What kind of glass (lenses) are you using? Thanks for comments! I appreciate you watching!

  • @justbasl hmm... the ones that came with the camera... i thing 15-58... just dont understand much of lenses...

  • @ilusaosemlimite oh yeah if you are using the stock 18-55mm lens thats comes with the camera than you are not taking full control of the cameras abilities! For this video in particular I used the 50mm 1.4. This is about a $400.00 lens. Since then I have sold it and moved onto Zeiss Glass for most of my lenses! You should really invest in some nice glass to get the full potential of the sensor in your camera!

  • @justbasl wwwwooowwww that's really nice man, tks a lot!!! wich one should i use??? which do you recommend??? tks again man!!!

  • @ilusaosemlimite I would recommend using the 50mm 1.4 to start out. You will get some really nice footage from this fairly inexpensive lens!

  • @justbasl wow... thank you very much man... and just the last question, i promess... Wich lenses u thing that I should use??? I'm from Brazil so they are very expensive here... But I really wanna invest some money on this... Thank you again for all those explainations!!!

  • @ilusaosemlimite Can you get the Canon 50mm 1.4? It is a very good starter lens and you will really like what the footage you can get from it! How much are you looking to spend?

  • Hi I was wondering if I could get the product listing for all this. My email is will.rook@gmail.com. Thank you.

  • Please and thank you **

  • Hey could you email me the list ... austincowley8@gmail.com

  • Hey list please many thanks. danpilot@hotmail.co.uk

  • Can i get a list? atreyu.troy@yahoo.com.

  • can i also get a list? email to kevinsmovie@gmail.com

  • Thanks!!!! Would you mind emailing me your supply list?? I'm at nyletak010@juno.com, I'd greatly appreciate it!!

  • @katetothelyn you email did not work for some reason?

  • What tripod head did you use for this? Will most tripod heads mount easily to the cheese plate?

  • @katetothelyn I used the Hercules 2.0 Head. If you are using a light head, I would suggest putting one at each end or using a pair of light stands. I also made a smaller track (3 feet) and that seems to works better on my lighter tripods.
