I think thats the point. Elizabeth made herself out to be a rebel, rejecting all the corrupt parts of society, then she gets conned by someone, her husband, who' just like her accept 10X more. Playing everyone, doesn't care about anyone. I think why she reacts like that is because two random people who just barely met, show more love towards eachother, one being her best friend, than her husband shows to her. Who she gave up all her principles to marry, just to be loved by someone.
Elizabeths so naturally pretty. It really bugs me because she's such an annoying selfish personality at times, I know it's because shes very naive but still.
It's like a cliffhanger ending each time which the producers find very effective because people then want to check it out each week. Looks like she had it all coming when Elizabeth found a bummer for a husband when she is supposed to be an emancipated feminist , a thorn on her parents' side and a rebel in all of Eaton Place.
