While some situations of group think could become similar to dogma, the overwhelming majority of atheist groups are not full of dogmatic adherents. Look at those who consider themselves fans of our show, but every once in a while vocalize dissent as an example. Supexcellency is a good recent example.

I gave you a thumbs down as you weren't careful to remain accurate. While some situations of group think could become similar to dogma, the overwhelming majority of atheist groups are not full of dogmatic adherents. Look at those who consider themselves fans of our show, but every once in a while vocalize dissent as an example. Supexcellency is a good recent example.

Atheism is a disbelief OR denial. Lacking beliefs (as you claimed babies do) makes them non believers about many things, including gods.
Kelly and I don't get bored of this stuff, but sometimes it feels like the entire world rests on our shoulders, we realize it doesn't, however thats about the extent of our negative emotions involving what we do.

Well I will have to say that athiest are not ignorant of God's exsistence, they refuse to acknowledge Him as God. am I pretty accurate on that Brain?
My belief system is almost entirely different than my parents and myy sister and also my grandparents. They have this southern baptist mentality were you have to do things to please God. In other words God helps those who help themselves, I of course know better than that. Im saved by grace.

butch281972 Atheists don't refuse to accept God as anything. Atheists simply think he's not real, like the Zeus or Odin or Vishnu. So there's nothing to accept or reject. Your description presupposes that all people believe in God then make decisions based on that belief. Atheists simply don't believe. With this in mind, perhaps Christians would be less bothered by what they call rejection since atheists aren't really rejecting anything.

Brutus who was the first king of the britons was a real person, He ruled new Troy which the Romans later Called Ludinium ( London) Lud was a descendant of Noah, so was beowulf (Bear Wolf) read the book called after the flood by CSM. These genealogies are fact we can trace man all the way back to ham shem and japheth. Jupiter or Zues was a real person you might say, but not a god, He was Japheth. worshipped by his descendants as Jupater or father Jove

Actually I have a son, and Kelly has three. While I would probably word your first question differently it is a rather accurate representation of the adult atheist who was once religious. There are some atheists who are ignorant to the god concept, or at least not well versed in what reasons theists offer to believe.

It depends what you consider to be a mind disorder. If someone claims to have a strong personal relationship with an imaginary supreme being they are delusional. If delusion is a mind disorder then the claim is valid, if not then it is invalid as you suggest.

When I say atheism as a neeeded illusion, I mean that as humans we can't know for sure our beliefs are correct - both atheists and theists might be wrong or might be holding a half-of the whole truth, I just think ultimately that we cant be dogmatic on issues like these.

Well if Kelly was up with her studies, she would know that the DSM is now DSM-IV not DSM-III-R, is straight out appealing to authority, a logical fallacy - so she has 4.0 GPA, so she is going or in a ivovy league college, means little or nothing - anyone can read the DSM. First of all, we believe that it is an disorder not because I say so, but because other prominent psychologists have also said so and if you look at the diagnostic criteria it seems to be very similar. So no appeal to authority, and certainly not mine, here.
