  • Espero que Sagan encontrase respuesta a todas sus dudas con su muerte. Se lo merece =)

  • yo se que soy un bobo

  • I miss you Mr. Sagan.

  • Condenado universo imposible de viajar...

  • miuto bom

  • Wormholes and time dilation are very well validated by theoretical physics and, in the case of time dilation, by experiment. however recent experimental and theoretical results into the nature of high energy gamma rays around black holes and objects travelling in polarized vacuum- where powerfull localised magnetic fields are able to polarize the very fabric of space itself through the virtual particles that embed it, would question whether or not it is possible to break the light barrier.

  • interesting

  • I hate to burst your bubble, but life has no 'higher purpose', its just that other animals don't need one, and we do. The reason we treat each other like we do is called Reciprocal Altruism and its something we get from our primate cousins.

We all 'want' things in life, but wanting something doesn't equate to it existing, that in itself is childish.

Surely its better to see the universe as it really is instead of requiring Deities?

  • actually i descrive Sagan & Cosmos to my friends who havent heard of it before as "...a presentation of science in a spiritual but non-religious context..."

i think Sagan does an incredible job of showing that no purpose is in fact the highest purpose, because it means that our sense of adventure & exploration & discovery becomes the purpose :-)

...but then i might just be a freakin' hippie ;-P LOL

  • what makes you think the universe needs to please your personal desires and views?

it was around long before humans were and will be around long after, it cares not what is best for us

  • You are childish. Sagan was not denying the supernatural and invisible spiritual world, but since those things have not been proven via the scientific method, they are not worth mentioning. You have seen in earlier episodes the damage religion and superstition has done to the development of the human race. Besides that, Sagan was a scientist. He did not believe, he knew. That's something opposite of believing a 2000 year old book to hold the truth while there is not a single fact to support it.

  • Ahm... Descartes was not exactly a fine catholic guy...

Please, before any more of your "history of science revisionism", try to read something...

I don't speak english, but I write better than you. Please, man, read something...

  • Didn't stephen hawking say that if time travel ever became possible...why haven't the people from the future made contact with us yet?

  • @juglis - I think it could just be a kind of a bureaucratic matter, you know?

  • @juglis according to Mr. Sagan, because they travelled to a different reality. Simple as that. In that theory, which i really can't find it possible, there are as many realities as events might happen.

  • The only kind of time travel I think will ever be possible is maybe to find images of the past.
