yes.. fillets .. are big chunk of dried fish ?? if it is.. you can cut into smaller pieces..I use.. sempio red pepper paste.. ^^ it's korean brand.. thanks
Hi, thanks for all your videos. I was wondering, can I use this same recipe using non-seasoned cuttlefish, and use less sugar? The one I tried was not sweet, and the cuttlefish was more firm and did not come pre-cut..
aha.. that also dried squid ??? the taste will not be same..but I think you can try... since it's not seasoned one.. you might have to add more salt and.. sugar to give flavor.. I hope that works also.. thanks !!!
Thanks so much - yes, it dried cuttlefish, but it was whole. I remember my mom had to cut it with scissors, then tear it into thin strips with her fingers. If definitely want to try your sauce recipe - just maybe cut a little sugar. I am so glad I discovered your videos!!!
OMG so that's how you make that delicious spicy and sweet korean squid. I remember buying this at a korean market one day and eating it with rice and it was so good. I also remember buying something similar as this with the dried fish of some sort. It was a little hard to chew but that's what made it so good. The more I chewed on it, the more flavor came out. I can eat this stuff just by itself as well, so yummy. Thanks Aeri for showing us how it's done. Cheers!!!
I think you can make a blog to explain about korean food.. You explain the flavor and texture very well.. with just reading your explaining..I can imagine what you are talking about..and want to eat that right now..hehe thanks !!!
I used to cook this without the soy sauce, garlic or the ginger powder and this tastes MUCH better. Oh and when I cooked it, my sauced turned out much thicker, but it still tasted very good.
Oh and I had to add about 5-6 dashes of ginger powder. I believe this is due to the difference in manufacturer of the cuttlefish.
If you love squid, I bet you will love this. YOu know..actually cuttlefish is same family of squid.. I wonder if you mean.. dried squid or fresh squid. If it's fresh or frozen one ..why not..i guess it will be good. just slice it thinly or bite size so it will be easier to eat. If you meant dried squid, be honest I'm not sure.. because it will be too tough to chew. I don't want you have problem to chew your food. oops.. anyway.. thanks for question!!
Hi Arei, I notice that korean food uses alot of sugar and corn syrup in some recipies. As I am not a big fan of refined sugar was wondering if honey can be substituted for that other sugars. I know it might change the flavor a little bit but what do you think?
Thank you for question !!! I think you can use honey..as you said, the taste will be changed a little..but if you consider your health most importantly, I think it's good thing to do. I and my husband also try to eat healthy food..but it's not easy.. Just remember..if you use honey instead of sugar... just add a little more honey... than the sugar in the recipe.. Honey has less than 20% of moisture in it..so.. if you need 1 tsp sugar..add 1 tsp and a little more honey. :)
haha.. do you ??? great !! I will add extra red pepper powder, red pepper paste, fresh green hot pepper.. red pepper.. garlic... for you ^___________^ jk... Thanks !!!!
i just found ur video cooking, and it's very interesting and easy to follow. Thank u for upload. Could u make more dishes of seafood, please ?. I like fish, hehehe.
one more thing, i like the music u played when u were cooking and the subtitle of the ingredients u used. It helps me a lot.
Aeri, wow I have never had cuttlefish before, now I am excited to try it, I wonder what it is like... the sauce looks yummy! I will have to search some next time I go to the Korean market. It looks so good; I want to eat it now! hehe The more Korean food I make, the spicier I like it. >.> Now when I am adding gochujang and red pepper powder, my family will look at me like I am crazy and say it is enough for 40 people; o_o; it isn't! I do not make them food with so much though hehe... ^^ ~Katt
If you like seafood, I think you will like it. It's good to know about a new food, isn't it? :) haha... you love spicy food. enough for 40 people..wow.. I will look at you with this face too.. @.@ thanks for comment.. katt ^^
hehe..yep new video. I wonder if people will like this recipe. you know.. I learned the name, cuttlefish in English yesterday when I made this video..hehe.. Thanks !!!!
It's good. I miss the sesame oil but this turned out well also. Nice change from how I usually make it. In the video I love the way the soy sauce spreads out when you poured it. Beautiful :)
How are you? wow, you tried it. Happy to hear that you think it's good. Actually, I wonder your recipe too. ^^ Yes,, the soy sauce looked interesting. Thanks for comment and trying my recipe.
