7:55 till the end: how can you not like this man? would Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum or Obama say anything like that? no. That`s why its Ron Paul 2012 or bust!!!
"I wouldn't be standing here but for the fact that a number of those teachers made a huge impact on my life, and were able to make a diference, and made me a better person and a better student, and ultimately gave me the chance to do things like this." The ONLY reason these students, and so many adults just like them, have this distorted perception that Christie is anti-teachers is because of the disingenuous portrayal of him by unions, who have spent tens of millions convincing them it's so.
I understand yet hate the idea that he is not running for President. He tells it like it is and takes the time to be specific and direct, and if you get disrespectful with him, he will call you out and put you in your place. He reminds me of the Americans that made this country great: Respect, Integrity, Honesty.
@abeismain I'm not from the US and was born in Romania(europe) and just love to see that the US have some good politicians like Chris Christie and Ron Paul. I like to see this types of debates and as godmathias said "honesty and intelligence". Any other good politicians ? I would like to see on education and religion issues.
@LorDulicious Yes, there are some other nice ones :) For example, Search: Dennis Kucinish, he's a congressman, like Ron Paul. The sad thing is, that Chris Christie has endorsed Mitt Romney, because they were friends and probably money is involved.
@abeismain watch?v=qYWWBwf2wHE I like honest people, and when politicians are speaking you can detect the BS from the truth. I like honest people, good or bad news you have to know the facts, becouse of one lie you might have to pay someone to cover that and then you go on an endless road...
@abeismain someones comment "Damn how much better would this country be if Kucinich elected in 08 and Paul in 12" and I believe his right. I hope Paul is becouse if he will be and he dose a good job the bar will be up for the next election...
@LorDulicious Yeah, they are firm believers of keeping the respect to the Constitution. Everyone is ignoring the U.S. constitution and that is the main reason the country is not doing well.
@abeismain I earn about 3000$ per year 180 hours per month so what are they complaining about? US has cheeaper oil than us, has cheaper electronics then us has cheaper cars then us, we are on par with food we only have cheaper housing... it takes me 18 years x 3000$ =55000$ to buy an one bedroom apartment.
Christie is a stand up guy. I may not agree with him on everything but he's got integrity and I believe he is an honest man. I like the cut of his jib.
Funny how misguided some comments are here. Republicans are actually FIGHTING FOR LOWER WAGES and LOWER BENEFITS. They're CELEBRATING the fact that they cut wages and gutted benefits of the teachers of their children. Remember folks, the economic collapse happened on their watch in 2008. They failed to protect the homeland on their watch. $6 Trillion was added to the Debt on their watch. Now that they're in power in the House, they want YOU to pay for THEIR failures. Wise up! Wise up!
@medartist01 do not know it but the 6 Tillion was adde in the First Year of President Obama , puls since your Democratic , guess you do not care if the State go in Debet and even Bankrupt than as a Democratic you can explain to the people why the State have to Close it Doors, all get lay off, Chain take over the State of NJ and no one will work.
@medartist01 disclaimer: I'm not Republican, I'm not American, and I live on the other side of the globe.
But even I can tell that, while the housing market implode AT THE END of a Republican administration, the whopping increase of American debt happened during current Democratic administration. Republican did try to block bailout the first time. But then they relent, which is a shame. But Democrat always actively support the bailout until the debt almost doubled within 3 years.
Teachers do teach the children how important education is in life then if you dont pay them the wages, benefits and healthcare that are more than thier parents they will go on strike and you will get nothing.
Give teachers the unaffordable benefits NOW!
And kids agree with teachers without care for thier own parents ability to afford them.
That one little smart ass with the question about incurring debt was hilarious. Did you catch the "dude where's my car" look on little Einsteins face?
WHOOAAAA....what a foulmouthed, obnoxious, arrogant buffoon! This clown's the Gov. of New Jersey? What a disgrace! I wouldnt let him pick up my garbage... Zip that nasty yapper and try to be nice for a change fat boy....and lay off the crispy creams while yer at it!
So do these kids really care about all the home owners who are burdened by the property tax that pays for their education? No. It's all about them. Something does not come from nothing. Where do you get the funding from? You will have to raise property tax or some other kind of tax which makes life harder for everyone else. This is teachers union vs everyone else.
When the kids said her Teacher doesnt get paid much, does the kid know how much or was it vile influenced from the teacher. I can tell Gov. Christie was villified behind his back. These kids always open statements with " I don't understand why we cant do this and we cant do that. Because sweetheart life doesnt operate useing magic to fill an ideological whim.
Must be a good community/school. These students ask good, thoughtful questions and demonstrate understanding. I think Gov Christie was honest in his answers.
These kids pretending to care about their "beloved" teachers is a joke! As soon as they graduate they'll never think about them again! Their just your typical arrogant, dumb, spoiled brat american kids that think they know so much when all they know is how to text message and who won american idol last week. Most of them will still be living with their parents when thier 28 and working at Carl's Jr.
It's so funny to watch these kids. They're sitting there and I can just hear what most of them are thinking - "Hey, isn't public school free?" For the 2008-2009 school year, New Jersey dropped to third in the nation, spending $16,271 per pupil per year.
Geeze - are these kids living in the stone age? That girl is complaining about not getting a foreign language? Sheesh! What does she use her computer for - only playing games? Ever heard of Rosetta Stone or a gazillion other programs? Need physical education? Go out and play after school instead of sitting around on your cell phone or facebook!
Get rid of the Unions and you could have 3 people teaching in the class room and all the books the kids could eat..because thats what its about..right? the kids?
That girl at the 5 and half minute mark should pay her teachers out of her pocket if she is so grateful - LOL - funny how all these kids keep saying "I don't understand how..."
If there is a hole in the budget why did Cristie cut taxes for the rich, then claim that he has no choice but to put the short fall on the backs of the poor and middle class?
These kids are so selfish. They want to use some other person's money for their own education? Education is a private matter. People should not be forced to pay for another person's education. The golden rule applies to economics as well- how do they not get ths?
@sharinganclan213 Figures someone as dumb as you is anti education. You wouldn't want people to actually learn would you? How the hell do you expect this country to excel at anything if education isn't a right? Under your plan the whole country would be as dumb as you are.
@TheMindfulOne figures that you lack comprehension skills and cannot tell that we have the right to life, liberty and property, and should not be entittled to some other person's services or money. I don't want people to learn? Bitch, please. I want people to get educated with their own money and effort. How is it fair when I say "I have the right to an education at a university, so I will use the heavy hand of government to force another American citizen to pay for my eduation by taxing them"?
@TheMindfulOne you have nothing to counter my argument other than by name calling. Education should be decided on the deal you make between you and your educator. I personally find the internet more educational and cheaper than going to university. Hell, my textbooks and youtube do a better job at providing me education than some of my chemistry professors. The only thing they do is tell you how grading works, midterm and finals date, and they bullshit half the lecture by umming.
@sharinganclan213 Yeah ok! Tell NJ Big Pharma you want a job and you have a youtube chem degree!! lol And how are people going to get all the lab equipment to get their own experience? In this economy your going to buy it and do it all by yourself? You're just gonna assume your doing everything right? Your argument is a joke. You really do need an education!
@TheMindfulOne it's called saving your moneyto pay for your education. Growing up my parents forced me to put aside any money I earned as a gift for my birthdays or for any other holiday and worked during high school I ,unlike you, am independent and do not feel entittled to another person's property.
@sharinganclan213 "Another persons property" - How did most of these Banks and big business owners get this property? By overpricing, fees, fines, raising premiums, taking away workers benefits and OT, charging interest, tax loopholes, they defend all this with their army of ninja lawyers and lobbyists, all without giving pay raises to employees to account for these rising costs. Their property my ass! The top 2% richest people didn't aquire over 50% of all the wealth by working hard.
@TheMindfulOne stop changing the subject. If we lived under the rule of law, theose same banks would not get bailed out. You have no right to another person's property, because if you do, that means you own it, or part of it. Since you own nothing, you have nothing.
@sharinganclan213 Who the hell do you think writes these laws?? People in big business and the banks and the federal reserve interchange positions in gov't all the time. They write the laws. Law or not it's a racket against the middle and lower classes. It's a big mafia and you ain't in it, therefore your a victim like the other 98% of america.
@TheMindfulOne right, and most of the laws written are unconstitutional. If we lived under rule of law, big businesses would not get away with such things, but at the same time, we would not have federal funding for abortion, education and other goodies that socialists like to support.
@sharinganclan213 Not all, but some of these "goodies" are for the general common welfare of the people. Healthcare is obviously tied to common welfare where abortion is not. On education, its not essential for survival as in life or death but it is essintial for the growth and intelligence of this country. Other countries have recently outsmarted us and have become world leaders in innovation many times over the US. Then they sell us their technology and we wind up in debt.
@TheMindfulOne Everything from cars to tv's and infrastructure are done better in these countries that are more educated then the US. Education is essential and way overlooked and in the worst cases severly cut by people like Christie
@TheMindfulOne No, the general welfare clause that you refer to, as said y James Madison, was really meant for the rest of article 8 powers. So other countries are better than us because they are smarter? Really? We have had some of the ebst inventors in history and continue to do so today. Let me ask, who invented google? microsoft? Education is a private matter, whichever way you look at it. And how much intelligence is needed for ths country to "succeed" in your opinion.
@marknute I didn't want more funding, I just didn't want it cut by a billion dollars. He violated the NJ Constitution because he cut so much. How can you as an educated person honestly believe that cutting a billion dollars in education has no effect on students?
These kids obviously have their slanted views influenced by the optimism of youth. You have to give them credit for putting some thought in their questions, the look on their faces was they listened to the response and did it in a civil manor.
Let's do some math..If 6,500 teachers have retired in 2010, and they all get FREE healthcare at $22,000 per family coverage PER year and they live at least 10 years after retirement, that's $1,430,000,000! And that's only for that crowd that retired! There are approx 88,000 public school teachers in NJ...do the similar math to understand how much NJ taxpayers are on the hook for...

If you want to know where the teacher's union stands on education - just look at Madison Wisconsin. Teachers (and Democrat legislators) LEFT THEIR POSTS - not to defend the KIDS, but because of their own interests. Teachers called in "sick", and went to protests. Kids showed up to class, and had no teachers - simply because their governor dared to challenge their UNION. It's NOT about the kids or education with the unions... it's about the unions. UNIONS don't educate children.
Respond to this video... 'I take responsibility because I am the Governor'. Really? Take a look in the mirror. This guy is a walking time bomb. I suggest that he takes responsibility for himself first.
Teachers are part time workers they only work 180 days a year. The young girl student who ATTACKS the prisons is right. The Governor has not gone on record to cut all funding for prisoners. I say bring back 'chain gangs' and hard labor for those animals. He understands what? How about taking AWAY all the FRILLS that prisoners get? NO TV, NO CABLE, NO WEIGHTS, NO COMPUTERS, ETC. If you are going to fight for the people, at least try to do it.
@Greenvegan828 We have 5% of the worlds population and 25% of the worlds prison population. I'm all with u as far as chain gangs go, they should be worked to the fucking bone. But not until we figure out who should be in prison to begin with. Cause right now there are seemingly hundreds of thousands of people around this country who are in prison who shouldn't be there. That is unless you really believe we have more "criminals" then Russia, and China, or Iran for instance. Hard to believe...
@JoeDaWg82 Unfortunately, you are talking about an issue that can not be resolved. There are people who should and should not be in prison. What is your point? Most Americans worry too much about other issues instead of their own families. This is why we are growing fatter by the second.
Instead of focusing on the negative, do not focus on prisons. If you are person who wants to be a 'ghetto' or gang banger, maybe the issue is with the individual not the system. Who is going to hire that?
@Greenvegan828 If we are talking about "ghetto" or "gangbanger" then I agree, throw them in prison and work them dry. But I can't just ignore the glaring statistics. Not every person breaking a law needs to be thrown in jail. We must change things, or it's going to bankrupt us. The entire system needs an overhaul, and if we can at least get to a point where we are throwing the real criminals in jail, I'd be more then willing to support you in working their asses to the bone.
@JoeDaWg82 First of all, not all people want to work or change. They are so, into becoming 'fast cash' earners. They want to be rap stars, hollywood stars, athletes, actors, etc. They want it NOW. They have no idea on how to save money, use money or of course, build or think for a future. For example, the NFL has a lot of players who retire then are BROKE about 3 to 4 years later. Fact. Why? It is up to the individual. Prisons would be empty if people did the right thing. No drugs. No guns. Etc
I find it extremely hard to believe that these kids came up with some of these questions on their own. The way they phrased those questions and some of the vocabulary that was used is not in the teenage lexicon.
Their teachers told them what to ask Gov. Christie.
You people are rather funny, are any of you from New Jersey? His whole campaign slogan was helping SCHOOLS, tax CUTS, and CHANGE. I'm pretty sure he did the exact opposite of what he ran for.
@mcbee1906 I live in East Brunswick, NJ...my property taxes are $18,000 per year. My healthcare contribution was doubled from $226 per pay period to $432 per pay period in April 2010. I was let go from a Director level position in my company in September of 2010, not only did I not have a raise in a few years, but my company cut rank and file pay by 7% and management (I was one of these) by 10% in 2008. In my opinion, the Governor Christie IS INSTITUTIN CHANGE - and for the good of all.
what a great man. he doesn't tiptoe around their questions at all. he gives it to them straight without being condescending or invoking his position of authority. even with the obvious bias in the class room, he remains calm and reassuring.
on the other hand, he must have cried afterwards, knowing that this is the make up the brightest in his state.
"With teachers salaries already so low". Man I pity these kids who believe this. Lets say a teacher makes $50k. Well if you prorate that to a full year and not the 2/3 work year, thats $66k. Then you look at the full medical, dental, and vision. Now thats $70k. Then the pension fund. Now you're talking $73,000.
@jonz94 what? u think being a teacher is easy? huh? you know how much work it takes? how many degrees and paperwork and development hours? it's not easy work and unless you walk in a teacher's shoes you will never understand the immense amount of pressure teachers are constantly.. and yeah they may only work 180 days a year but the planning never ends. a teacher has to continue planning and reading and creating new lessons. its not easy. I like to see you do all this. I doubt you would last.
@gianca2014 Uh...do you think working in a real, responsible, FULLtime job is easy? Could you stand to be an "at will" employee? No one in private sector is guaranteed lifetime health benefits and a pension as these teachers and other public employees get! And they have their unions to cry to!
@PauliebNY no they're smart kids because our education is excellent and christie is trying to destroy that. Maybe your not smart enough to think of these questions. Stop being ignorant and read a book and get educated
@gianca2014 "Stop being ignorant AND read a book AND get educated." I guess you don't teach English, or else you'd know that run on sentences aren't grammatically correct. And if to "get educated" is as simple as "read a book", then why are you here stressing the importance of teachers?
You also need to quit crying about lesson planning. You have all summer to do it. Christie is trying to balance your budget, not "destroy" education. Your union's fear mongering won't work anymore.
Why don't he put a microscope up Wall Street's ass who CREATED THE CRISIS and charge THEM 1 1/2% on thier transactions? WALL STREET PAYS NO TAXES and THEY looted the system which is why we are dealing with this crisis. Oh wait, I know why...it's bc they are Christie's buddies.
It is a shame that these kids dont get it. Unfortunately, they will get it in the future when those lucky enough to find jobs see how much they will get wacked by every kind of tax under the sun. I wonder if any of these kids have a clue how much their parents pay in real estate taxes alone.
@nickv41 they do get it. Education cost money, and if getting great education will cost me an extra $100 or $200 dollars a year I'm all for it. We can't get the best education for the cheapest amount. Overall education is an investment and it's well worth it. We get some of the brightest doctors and lawyers from public education. If you take the money away what is left? A slashed budge that won't be enough to get the job done. Christie is damaging our schools and needs to pick on someone else.
Some of the questions posed by these students are so utterly stupid. If the kid that introduce the Gov. didn't say that these kids are studying political science, I wouldn't have believed it. They have no idea where the money is coming from and where it's going. If you have no idea, stop making baseless claims you morons.
First off, don't call me an idiot. Secondly, what Christie is doing to public education is reigning in the gluttonous unions who demand pay raises EVERY YEAR even while everyone else suffers pay cuts and lay-offs. Unions promote seniority, not merit and extract exorbitant fees from their members. Unions and the teachers they represent are paid far in excess of what they are worth based on their skill set
@gianca2014 set and on top of that, they receive free health care at the taxpayers' expense for working less than 200 days a year, and even so, they do a subpar job compared to kids in countries like Finland, France, China, and others who recently demolished American students on an international, standardized test. As to your claim that he is greedy and irresponsible, you are grievously mistaken.
@gianca2014 He is reversing the reckless spending of the previous administrations who have created an abomination of a state with one of the highest taxes and deficits in the nation. Christie is attempting to reverse this malady on the face of a once beautiful and prosperous state with sound fiscal policy which may include *gasp* spending cuts on programs instituted by the democrats. So, even though I may be sixteen, I know what I am talking about. Do NOT call me an idiot.
teachers in NJ are so poor in NJ, they average 90k in annual salary for 10 months worth of work as well as pension after 20 yrs. B.O.O-H.O.O Cry me a river you cocksuckers, you've had it too good for too long. NJ state police should be next. There are NJ state trooper that make 150k last year with overtime.
@EarthBeautifull I totally i agree with you. I bet most of these kids have iphone or some expensive smartphones. When there is no money....there is no money. They and lot people in western society have been spoiled getting everything whatever they asked for. We live in capitalistic society, not Communism, some people will have more than others, some will be more educated than others. I give Chris Christie for facing everyone head on not hiding in his office.
@EarthBeautifull kids these days are spoiled brats? Talk about a generalization. I know kids that can't afford food so the only meal they eat is the garbage that is served in the cafeteria. New Jersey students are very well educated compared to the rest of the country, but this governor is dead set on changing this. This isn't about republican or democrat either, I hate all politicians, but there's a special place in hell for this one
@shaunmason220 Yes, this generation of children is spoiled. Do you know that this generation is graduating college and bringing a parent to their first job interview? How pathetic is that? This is the most spoiled generation of kids ever. Compared to the GenXers that were the original latch-key kids, these millennials are incapable of doing anything without mommy's help.
@DieselPBR Hes the one lacking logic??? lol you liberals are ridiculous, you think money just rains from the sky and when cuts have to be made you whine and moan and don't understand why.
@DieselPBR ... lol are you serious? Twisting logic? He can't explain more PLAINLY than this... the fact you even say something like that is laughable. You are a prime example how Liberalism is a mental disorder, where you are unable to see or use real logic, unable to reason and most of all unable to use your brain. Let me be clear... you should step back and take a look at what you believe in. I guarantee you are on the wrong side of every issue, and support the true liars and crooks.
Whats even more disheartining is that the students have obviously not read the states constitution, which is no longer taught in schools because the teachers feel it "gets in the way" of social justice. Teachers blame their lack of skill on the money, as though it might make them better teachers. When in fact only improves the quality of life for the teacher and not for the social benefit of the student.
The educational system in each state does not have reigns to make sure their funding does not get out of control. I believe that the teachers union brainwashes students to be irresponsible by telling children that going into deficit for education is "ok". Schools and colleges should be free to attend, however the level of education someone recieves is based on the quality of the teacher and the students apprehension and intrest of knowlege, not the amount of money it recieves
Yeah we need more maxine waters and charles rengels as our leaders. And didnt you know bntw82, everyone that has ever worked on wall street was a republican ?. Its your boy obama that bails out all the sharks btw . youre a hopeless coward.
It is so obvious that these kids were given their questions either by the teachers or, most likely the teachers union... Pathetic.. Christie set these kids straight! Christie for prez!
i cant believe hes our governor. if this sloppy cow cant even take care of himself, how is he supposed to take care of our state? he shouldnt even be showing his greasy face in a high school. all the kids and teachers hate him bc of all the teachers that were laid off and sports/ clubs that were cut out of the budget, just like in my highschool.
@006wesley Just a word of advice - when making an argument, try not to fall into the liberal trap of personal attacks. People stop taking your comments seriously as soon as you start carping on perceived physical or mental flaws.
@006wesley and how was that his fault? He walked into a massive deficiet and you just expect cuts not to be made? Why dont you blame the last Governor for wasting the billion dollars in funding? But no, you are right. Cuts should never have to be made because money rains from the sky right?
@QuantumMechanist Damn its so refreshing to see this guy try to do what is right...not what is popular. I know some are trying to tax the rich and business. All that will do is drive business out of town. Without unions more people will have jobs, unions demand raise when so many people are losing jobs.
@mfith Tax cuts can be used to promote growth. However the deficits that arise from tax cuts can hold the economy back. Also depending on the state of the economy, the positive multiplier effects of government expenditure, especially on infrastructure programs, can be much greater than the effect of Tax cuts in promoting growth. So it's a balancing act between taxes, deficit and expenditure, and the decision over which of these to pursue is dependant on the state of the economy.
I live in New Jersey, and I tell you all right now, this man is the best thing that has happened to this state in its history. Taxes are through the roof, education is way overrated, all big companies have left because of huge taxes. He's not doing all of this because he wants to, he's doing it because he has to do it in order to get NJ back on track. I left NJ to go to college because its education quality is overrated, and the teachers don't care. He tells you how it is, Corzine never did.
These kid's really think that they can go into debt, and be fine. What happen's if you can't pull out of that debt year after year? You go Bankrupt, and everything get's closed down.
My son taught in poor and rich districts. That girl might have parents making well over 6 figures, and to her, from what she hears from her parents, her teachers are piss poor. But in an urban school, a teacher making 55,000 is seen as rich. Besides, another point to keep in mind. Was this a class in government? How was it taught? Why were the students only thinking in terms of the sacrifices their district and teachers had to make, and not the complete picture? Indoctrination? Seems like.
The girl at 5:00 is kind hearted but naive. Her teachers are making at least 45,000 a year. I wonder if this girl comes from a well off family and has never had to make a sacrifice due to financial reasons? I am going to school for teaching and I agree with a one time year pay freeze. It's better than people losing their jobs!
Members of the fucking teachers union pay less than 5% into their health insurance (which includes vision).... Who the fuck feels bad for them??? Good pay, Cadillac benefits, every holiday under the sun off and a nice 2 months off in the summer... Please...
@MastaBlasta22 wow these kids are ignorant fools. These young fools remind me of the baby boomers in their youth, and we see how that worked out as they have been running the country
I don' t understand how the top 2% of the richest people own over 50% of all the wealth but people think it's ok to cut education and put the deficit on the backs of the least well off people. Most big corporations including NJ Pharma pay little to NO taxes at all while actually getting millions in refunds but aren't asked to pay a nickel to societies problems. Yes there is a huge deficit in NJ. But putting it on the backs of the least well off is a horrible, immoral way to run the state.
Lets just say Christie lost and Corzine won the election. Corizine would go onto spending for more education in NJ, more programs, more bloated paychecks to the unions, and to pay for these expenses, that would mean higher taxes.
Eventually, these taxes would become so high that all the rich would leave NJ leaving NJ in a poor, third world mess. But students hate sacrifice, right? You want everything done for you, right? don't want to face reality.
Taking away education? He cut the bloated funding to education. Look at some of the other states, they don't fund their schools anywhere close to NJ does and their students do much better. And he hasn't put any taxes on the working class, I don't know where you got that from. But that is an outright lie.
He cut taxes for the rich, which is GOOD. NJ is losing business, and if he makes it easier for the rich to invest in NJ=more jobs for the poor.
Look at NJ's debt, look at our deficit. We are losing so much money paying for these teachers who themselves, don't pay for healthcare, get a ton of benefits, etc. You do realize the taxpayers are footing the bill right? Just because your teachers are moaning and bitching about not getting that 10% raise, doesn't mean Christie is bad. He is FISCALLY responsible, which is a rare breed of politicians.
You said "this guy is not just ruining nj's schools but all of nj INSTEAD OF RICH PEOPLE" implying you want him to ruin rich people instead of NJ schools.
And are you seriously telling me we were doing just fine by RAISING TAXES and KEEP GOING INTO DEBT? Guess what kid, Christie stopped the free entitlements many people are so use to, unless you want to pay for the crushing debt and want to pay the extreme taxes. We must make sacrifices, otherwise NJ will fall due to the deficit.
7:55 till the end: how can you not like this man? would Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum or Obama say anything like that? no. That`s why its Ron Paul 2012 or bust!!!

Wise up! Wise up!

@medartist01 do not know it but the 6 Tillion was adde in the First Year of President Obama , puls since your Democratic , guess you do not care if the State go in Debet and even Bankrupt than as a Democratic you can explain to the people why the State have to Close it Doors, all get lay off, Chain take over the State of NJ and no one will work.
lifeline52002 2 months ago

Teachers have many hours to bainwash the kids.

How is it fair when I say "I have the right to an education at a university, so I will use the heavy hand of government to force another American citizen to pay for my eduation by taxing them"?
sharinganclan213 11 months ago
@sharinganclan213 Their own Money!?!?!? What money?!?! Education should be decided by how rich you are now?!? You elitist punk!
TheMindfulOne 11 months ago
@TheMindfulOne you have nothing to counter my argument other than by name calling. Education should be decided on the deal you make between you and your educator. I personally find the internet more educational and cheaper than going to university. Hell, my textbooks and youtube do a better job at providing me education than some of my chemistry professors. The only thing they do is tell you how grading works, midterm and finals date, and they bullshit half the lecture by umming.
sharinganclan213 11 months ago
@sharinganclan213 Yeah ok! Tell NJ Big Pharma you want a job and you have a youtube chem degree!! lol And how are people going to get all the lab equipment to get their own experience? TheMindfulOne 11 months ago
@TheMindfulOne it's called saving your moneyto pay for your education. Growing up my parents forced me to put aside any money I earned as a gift for my birthdays or for any other holiday and worked during high school I ,unlike you, am independent and do not feel entittled to another person's property.
sharinganclan213 10 months ago
@sharinganclan213 "Another persons property" - How did most of these Banks and big business owners get this property? By overpricing, fees, fines, raising premiums, taking away workers benefits and OT, charging interest, tax loopholes, they defend all this with their army of ninja lawyers and lobbyists, all without giving pay raises to employees to account for these rising costs. Their property my ass! The top 2% richest people didn't aquire over 50% of all the wealth by working hard.
TheMindfulOne 10 months ago
@TheMindfulOne stop changing the subject. If we lived under the rule of law, theose same banks would not get bailed out. You have no right to another person's property, because if you do, that means you own it, or part of it. Since you own nothing, you have nothing.
sharinganclan213 10 months ago
@sharinganclan213 Who the hell do you think writes these laws?? People in big business and the banks and the federal reserve interchange positions in gov't all the time. They write the laws. Law or not it's a racket against the middle and lower classes. It's a big mafia and you ain't in it, therefore your a victim like the other 98% of america.
TheMindfulOne 10 months ago
@TheMindfulOne right, and most of the laws written are unconstitutional. If we lived under rule of law, big businesses would not get away with such things, but at the same time, we would not have federal funding for abortion, education and other goodies that socialists like to support.
sharinganclan213 10 months ago
@sharinganclan213 Not all, but some of these "goodies" are for the general common welfare of the people. Healthcare is obviously tied to common welfare where abortion is not. On education, its not essential for survival as in life or death but it is essintial for the growth and intelligence of this country. Other countries have recently outsmarted us and have become world leaders in innovation many times over the US. Then they sell us their technology and we wind up in debt.
TheMindfulOne 10 months ago
@TheMindfulOne Everything from cars to tv's and infrastructure are done better in these countries that are more educated then the US. Education is essential and way overlooked and in the worst cases severly cut by people like Christie
TheMindfulOne 10 months ago
@TheMindfulOne No, the general welfare clause that you refer to, as said y James Madison, was really meant for the rest of article 8 powers. So other countries are better than us because they are smarter? Really? We have had some of the ebst inventors in history and continue to do so today. Let me ask, who invented google? microsoft? Education is a private matter, whichever way you look at it. And how much intelligence is needed for ths country to "succeed" in your opinion.

Greenvegan828 7 months ago
Teachers are part time workers they only work 180 days a year. The young girl student who ATTACKS the prisons is right. The Governor has not gone on record to cut all funding for prisoners. I say bring back 'chain gangs' and hard labor for those animals. He understands what? How about taking AWAY all the FRILLS that prisoners get? NO TV, NO CABLE, NO WEIGHTS, NO COMPUTERS, ETC. If you are going to fight for the people, at least try to do it.
Greenvegan828 7 months ago
@Greenvegan828 We have 5% of the worlds population and 25% of the worlds prison population. I'm all with u as far as chain gangs go, they should be worked to the fucking bone. But not until we figure out who should be in prison to begin with. Cause right now there are seemingly hundreds of thousands of people around this country who are in prison who shouldn't be there. That is unless you really believe we have more "criminals" then Russia, and China, or Iran for instance. Hard to believe...
JoeDaWg82 6 months ago
@JoeDaWg82 Unfortunately, you are talking about an issue that can not be resolved. There are people who should and should not be in prison. What is your point? Most Americans worry too much about other issues instead of their own families. This is why we are growing fatter by the second.
Instead of focusing on the negative, do not focus on prisons. If you are person who wants to be a 'ghetto' or gang banger, maybe the issue is with the individual not the system. Who is going to hire that?
Greenvegan828 6 months ago
@Greenvegan828 If we are talking about "ghetto" or "gangbanger" then I agree, throw them in prison and work them dry. But I can't just ignore the glaring statistics. Not every person breaking a law needs to be thrown in jail. We must change things, or it's going to bankrupt us. The entire system needs an overhaul, and if we can at least get to a point where we are throwing the real criminals in jail, I'd be more then willing to support you in working their asses to the bone.
JoeDaWg82 6 months ago
@JoeDaWg82 First of all, not all people want to work or change. They are so, into becoming 'fast cash' earners. They want to be rap stars, hollywood stars, athletes, actors, etc. They want it NOW. They have no idea on how to save money, use money or of course, build or think for a future. For example, the NFL has a lot of players who retire then are BROKE about 3 to 4 years later. Fact. Why? It is up to the individual. Prisons would be empty if people did the right thing. No drugs. No guns. Etc
Greenvegan828 6 months ago

nickv41 1 year ago
@nickv41 they do get it. Education cost money, and if getting great education will cost me an extra $100 or $200 dollars a year I'm all for it. We can't get the best education for the cheapest amount. Overall education is an investment and it's well worth it. We get some of the brightest doctors and lawyers from public education. gianca2014 1 year ago
Unions and the teachers they represent are paid far in excess of what they are worth based on their skill set
jonz94 1 year ago 5
@gianca2014 set and on top of that, they receive free health care at the taxpayers' expense for working less than 200 days a year, and even so, they do a subpar job compared to kids in countries like Finland, France, China, and others who recently demolished American students on an international, standardized test. As to your claim that he is greedy and irresponsible, you are grievously mistaken.

@gianca2014 He is reversing the reckless spending of the previous administrations who have created an abomination of a state with one of the highest taxes and deficits in the nation.

People stop taking your comments seriously as soon as you start carping on perceived physical or mental flaws.
boilermaker1981 1 year ago
@006wesley and how was that his fault? He walked into a massive deficiet and you just expect cuts not to be made? Why dont you blame the last Governor for wasting the billion dollars in funding? But no, you are right. Cuts should never have to be made because money rains from the sky right?

We had these same liberal government teachers when I was in school. Sadly, those teachers didn't teach their students the real world.
Nice set up, teach. Too bad it isn't going to help.

I support Obama but I'd vote for Christie for President if he runs against any other democrat. Loving this guy.
QuantumMechanist 1 year ago
@QuantumMechanist Damn its so refreshing to see this guy try to do what is right...not what is popular. I know some are trying to tax the rich and business. All that will do is drive business out of town. Without unions more people will have jobs, unions demand raise when so many people are losing jobs.
mfith 1 year ago

He tells you how it is, Corzine never did.

betcha 10 bucks the students in this class have a flaming liberal union member for a teacher and he told them what questions to ask.

Seems like.
samchaseblack 1 year ago
@samchaseblack $55,000! lol who thinks tht means ur rich. Not all urban kids think tht becuz i know some nd they dnt think tht!
avrilrockz5 1 year ago
The girl at 5:00 is kind hearted but naive. Her teachers are making at least 45,000 a year. I wonder if this girl comes from a well off family and has never had to make a sacrifice due to financial reasons? I am going to school for teaching and I agree with a one time year pay freeze. It's better than people losing their jobs!

You want everything done for you, right? don't want to face reality.
surgedark 1 year ago
@popbaby101
NJ is losing business, and if he makes it easier for the rich to invest in NJ=more jobs for the poor.
surgedark 1 year ago
@popbaby101
And how is he ruining NJ as a whole? I think it is a much better improvement from the tax and spend democrats.

@popbaby101
(Continued from my last post)
And I "don't have it all wrong"
Look at NJ's debt, look at our deficit. We are losing so much money paying for these teachers who themselves, don't pay for healthcare, get a ton of benefits, etc. You do realize the taxpayers are footing the bill right? Just because your teachers are moaning and bitching about not getting that 10% raise, doesn't mean Christie is bad. He is FISCALLY responsible, which is a rare breed of politicians.
surgedark 1 year ago
@popbaby101
