  • they have been filming it. its coming out next year. i hope they dont blow it

  • Why not digitally restore the original stooges shorts and re-release those? Like they've done with Star Wars.. Don't mess with the classic stooges just put them out for another generation.

  • @whatuautado They Have Released The Classics. They Have Been Out for Years Now

  • great to see you put in army of darkness, evil dead is the best trilogy ever.

Any way, i ove the stooges from Moe to Curly to Larry to Joe to Curly Joe to even Emil Sitka (who was going to replace larry).

  • It's going to go straight to video, so what is the point? We can see the real 3 Stooges any time. If you have real Picasso, why get a copy? Their slapping and poking in the eyes humor is not as funny in politically correct 2011. But it is funny to them do it in the less evolved 1930-1950's because it shows how far we have come.

  • I think Collin Mockery should play Larry. He kind of look like him, he got the same nose, and they're both funny. Also, Larry was a balding man, so as Collin. He wouldn't need to wear that much make-up. he is perfect for the role, huh.

  • me too im a stooge fan too.if they were still alive they would have been riches people on earth room has it that joe one of the stooge they said he was gay.what jim carry yeah right what ever may be shemp jim carry would of made a great shemp player cause he has long hair.

  • me too im a stooge fan too.if they were still alive they would have been riches people on earth room has it that joe one of the stooge they said he was gay.

  • me too im a stooge fan too.

  • Hollywood destroyed my beloved Dukes of Hazzard - sadly they will do the same to my Idols....The Stooges.

Long live Moe Shemp & Curly Howard :-)

  • There is a major factor in how images affect people that few ever think of--cinematography and how those images are conveyed (projection, digital, whatever). A Stooges movie won't work for the same reason a Ghostbusters 3 won't work: It will be shot with the bizarre visual ideals of today. i.e, it will look unalive and plastic like "Wilfred" or Lazytown. And after watching it, people will wonder why it didn't affect them like the originals, never pondering the nature of the images themselves.

  • To replace soup with baby pee. How sick and wrong. That idea will be a bomb

  • Excellent point of view. I agree, Stooge impersonators could do a flick but it still wouldn't an authentic Stooges movie. To be a Stooges movie you have to have the 3 Stooges. Even if voodoo could bring 'em back it still wouldn't be the same. I have to wince at the thought of replacing oyster soup with baby urine. These guys were strategically blue. They never were outright crass when they told the blue gag. BTW, I have a VHS copy, of StoogeMania...yes I've seen it.

  • A Dumb and Dumber sequel has been planned. Jim Carey was supposed to be in the 3 stooges movie. Why not scrap this and move ahead to a Dumb and Dumber sequel.

  • no one can beat the old stooges like if u think so

  • Yeah....a remake of the Legendary Three Stooges just won't be funny I don't think.. Like that Mission Impossible show that we watched as kids with Mr. Phelps driving somewhere to retrieve a tape recorder of a certain mission to get the micro-film, that was a really great show and was great to watch. But, the re-make of it with Tom Cruise, they ended up killing and turning on EACH OTHER and taking the whole movie out of context. It wasn't even NEAR what the old Mission Impossible show was like

  • At 7: 43 We know nothing about movies. There's a couple of thousand people in pictures now that know nothing about it. Three more won't make any difference. I LOVE Moe's expression when he says that! HAHAHAHAHA! SO True!! I love The Three Stooges!! I've been watching them all my life and could never get tired of them, ever. Thank you for this great upload! You did a great job with the commentary on it!

  • another stooge movie should be a more detailed biopic.

the 2000 movie was alright. but they left some parts out and they didn;t do the part where Curly had his stroke before filimg half wits holiday right. in the movie he had a stroke while filming. while in real life he had a stroke before filming the last scene.

a biopic. i'm ok with. it would help get the stooges known through a younger generation. heck i'm only 18. and i grew up watching the stooges someday my kids will too.

  • No matter who they get to do this movie it will not be any good...The Stoooges were geniuses of their craft and can never be duplicated NEVER but I do believe that bringing attention to them is a good thing, I remember back in the late 60's and seventies watching the stooges and then going outside to play and all the kids in the neighborhood talking about that days episodes, in the Boston area they used to come on a 4pm, we miss them although still try and catch them on TV!! GREAT post!!

  • glad you added that clip from Short Circuit at 5:40 - 5:43. That's my favorite 3 Stooges reference

  • Why not use digital technology like Avatar to bring the boys back to the screen?

  • you forgot to add a few references of The Three Stooges in Ren and Stimpy when Stimpy acts like Curly in a few episodes, and when Powered Toast Man says something like "my favorite Stooge is Shemp but Curly is no laughing matter" Also you forgot to add that they also made 2 Video Games of the Three Stooges both on the Amiga and NES.

But most importantly you forgot that they actually made a cartoon of them in the late 70's early 80's of them in robotic form, The Robotic Stooges.

  • the third stooge all had diffrent characters curley was diffrent than shemp shemp was different than joe besser joe besser was different than curly joe.the movie should be focus on moe and larry meeting up with all these characters and at the end they all get together for a big pie fight that would be cool

  • Remember the new Blues Brothers? Great stuff. Remember the new Pink Panther? Wow. Really great stuff. When are these people going to learn? It's not the lines or the stories that made The Stooges. It was The Stooges. You can't capture what they were anymore than putting four guys in a room and calling them The New Beatles. Now, if a new comedic trio hit the scene I think that would be great. Heck, why not give three guys a chance and show their work as shorts before new movies.

  • This is how it should be

    Steve Carrel - Moe Howard

    Mike Myers - Larry fine

    Jim Carrey - Curly Howard.

  • great insight into the stooges

  • boy I would love to be able to slap people and get away with it like mo did

  • I really dont think ANY remake will work!

  • same here. i saw who gonna play the cast, and i dont think they'll do a good job in this. i mean if they can't get the cast right, then that one point of an epic fail.

  • im 13 and im a huge stooge fan not huge like curly but huge as in Trekkie's

  • There is one one stooge short that is "lost". Their color short called "Hello Pop" from 1933 has not been seen in decades, so that would be amazing to see if there was possibly one reel still in existence.

  • and besides, the only person that i thought would have pulled off a good Moe is Joe Pesci. but he is too old now.

  • why dont they just bring the orginal stooges back, using rotoscoping and CGI. like what they did in that old Diet Coke commercial in the early 90's

  • They better be careful. If they try to make it filthy then it will be incredibly stupid. I don't think they can recreate the simple hilarity of the stooges. Just like when they redid dukes of hazzard, that was idiodic!

  • another problem with making a new movie is that they are going to make it color. obviously. but that is going to be a bad move. just llike with the munsters movie.

  • I hope they dont make it a dirty comedy because that would really cpndescend the whole Three Stooges comedy style, which would be like putting the three stooges down and i think Sean Penn looks really good as Larry have a look in Carlitos Way

  • Hollywood really has to stop remaking great tv shows and movies...its all about how much money they can make..the stupid thing is they never really stop and think..i mean if they really wanted to show their respect and grattitude to the Stooges they would just re release the old shorts...get an hour of shorts for 10 bucks per person...ud get hundreds and thousands of ppl showing up just to see it on the big screen..

  • ur so right man i know i certainly would go and see em all even though i have all the episodes. They are the greatest golden comedy team in history and they wont be replaced ever

  • long live the stooges

  • great vid man

  • Great vid as always, Haphazard. It's great to see that there are still Stooges fans to this day!

  • Good Insight, BTW, appreciate the Brain Donors referrence, I remember seeing that film back in the mid-90s on TV and never knew what it was called but thought it was great. Now I know, and thats one less unanswered question huanting my dreams.

  • Glad to have helped end the nightmare.

    :o)

Yeah, it's a pretty funny film.

  • if they make a movie they should have it done like they did Beowolf with the animation. it didn;t even look like it. and have voice actors that can dub the voices.

    Curly: Dave Coulier

    Larry: Billy West ect.

  • @MsDoctorWhoFan1 Hey! that is not a bad idea. Why not.

  • Wouldn't it be like doing another Laurel and Hardy film, sure it'd get more people to notice their work but in the end it's all about cashing in on an old idea

  • It's definitely cashing in. The probable only positive to come from it for longtime fans is having them back in the limelight again.

Actually I think they might have done a Laurel & Hardy movie way back.....

  • I remember they did a Laurel and Hardy movie with french impersonators, that wasn't very good, just shows they cashed in even over 50 years ago

  • They had a Laurel and Hardies kids not so long ago..

  • Farley brothers: stop and think who you pick.

i'd prbably stick with del toro

but get comedic actors like Rob Schneider (Larry) and Dave Coulier (Curly)

if it is a Biopic (i hope it is) put in Joe Be and Curly Joe as well. even though they we'ren't as good as the origianl 4. they still are part of stooge history. and most imporantly of all you are forgetting Shemp. what is the stooges without shemp. i didn;t like him much as i did Curly but he was a great stooge.

  • all the stooges deserve respect. The best to not so good.

    Larry

    Curly

    Moe

    Shemp

    and sometimes (love them)

    Joe

    - Forever

we all love them. even though they are gone the stooges and thier influenced on Comedy never will.

  • @MsDoctorWhoFan1 Best to worst imo

    Curly

    Shemp

    Moe

    Larry

    Joe

    Curly Joe

  • a wise guy
