  • ayran ich liebe es weils stark macht ;) ( kopy right by duracell8319) hehe

  • Is this like Doogh?

  • another ayran is made of dried yogurt ..kurut .

dry yogurt is used for making instant ayran or yogurt in old days ,nomads rub that dry yogurt ,add milk ,stir and use it ,keep it for winter or travel (my fathers family still do it)

some people add salt or even dried meat in it use it for soup starter

  • another version of ayran is made in villages and found rare because not sold -usually they make ayran to produce butter from it so they ,shake it veeery long time so butter comes on surface and they take this butter ,rest of liquid is ayran

    i m a big fan of it :)

  • It's cool drink in summer Thank you who ever find Ayran in Turkey.

    From: England, Bolton,

    Bolton College.

  • i tried it and it tasted bad sorry

  • I want to drink this!

  • kebab+ayran=win win

  • just curious, does this make you sleepy? cause my friend told me it does

  • @gkidcj That is a common exam question in Turkish schools :), biology teacher told us that lactic acid is generated in human muscle when you get tired, it is a result of non-aerobic respiration that happens when blood flow is not enough to provide enough oxygen. Traditional yogurt also have lactic acid in it as a result of unaerobic yogurt culture, when you drink it, it makes you feel sleepy for a brief time(few minutes). Lactic acid is the reason of sour taste.

  • @utkua lol, my friend that told me this is past-turkish :)

    thanks

  • Hello. Great video!

I just wanted to ask what do you do if you want to ferment it to give it bubbles (sparkling). I'm not sure do I need to pasteurise it, somehow, if I leave it for 2 days at room temperature to do so, . Any suggestions are welcome. Cheers!

  • @baharat82 I have never fermented the tahn. It's interesting to know how, and if it's safe and healthy. I sometimes mix yogurt with carbonated water like club soda or mineral wate instead of waterr. Try it you might like it.

    Best Wishes

  • @baharat82 best result if you want more fermented and sour ayran you need to use homemade or let me say "real yogurt" because most yogurts are not real yoğurt these days ,they are sweet like puding and dont get sour in time because of additives ..they wont make good ayran..

i found only one yogurt -a local brand not sold widespread -its Balkan yogurt made in in Torbalı or Uludağ in Menemen ..Local brands and/ dairy producing sheepfarmers

or if u like near Balıkesir Dönce is LEGENDARY-

  • Ayran is Turkish isnt it?

  • @Lotusfire68

ayran is the turkish name for it, but it is traditional in central asia, the caucasus and the balkans too

  • We call this drink Ayran. We buy it carbonated.

  • @registeredme HAHA im telling the truth man. we can save up to €1 per day.

  • thank you. now my friend, aiman, can make his own ayran at HOME!

  • AYRAN+KEBAB= SHUTS DOWN THE MIND FOR A SECOND DUE TO THE TASTE OF BOTH COMBINED!

    you must try it!

  • Thank you for this recipe

  • @MarkMphonoman You're welcome and thanks for posting.

  • can i have some?

  • this tastes even better if you put 1 chip of crushed garlic and other dry herbs you like to the mix. this adds little spice and is very healthy. :)

  • I wish I had some tahn right now...it is 100 degrees outside.

  • smoos lol

  • I get the same result in 10 seconds using a shaker.

  • yes..

this is how I make it.

Buy Nancy's Yogurt, whisk it with some sparking mineral water and add some seasalt.. mix it

    WOW! good stuff ;)

  • lady, just put all the yogurt and water and etc in a bottle and shake the bottle, it's quicker, there no secret to it, and it comes out smoos ;-)
