@mog5858 Its called a stump splitter,as you know we can have old stumps here as big 8 feet across from the pioneers.This wedge is hinged at the drawbar,raised and lowered with the cable winch.You back into a stump,and if your lucky,it may split up.Some people think their great,others fear them because of the impact and possibility of blowing a final drive or component.Dad and I had one on our D7F it was fine on stumps 3 foot and smaller,any bigger took a lot of hits from different angles
@753190247130 yup,they sure went the way of the dinosaur starting in 1985 and extinct by the early 90's.First machines I ever was around as well.Dad Had aJD 450 with a 4 in 1 bucket and rear backhoe attachment.Was always good demand for it through the 70's till mid 80's,then the excavator began its now world dominant succesful takeover.Go Excavators!!!
is that a D8H or a K of Western's at 3:37? I think there was an earlier photo in this video. I am guessing that's at their Port McNeill yard. I am guess users Knorn44 or bcmollyhogan would know more about that D8. Looks like it needs a bit of work.
1:20 I am assuming is at Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut, I have flown in there once in the mid 1990's when I did DEWline cleanup work. Just a quick stopover because I was flying on to Shepherd Bay operation where the company I was working for had a bunch of equipment going.
