It's really sad to think about when Dexter said he wanted to raise the kids with Rita because Rita dies in the season 4 finally :( rita taught dex how to love, one of his first emotions! And for that to be taken away so easily is just heartbreaking to watch.. Dexter is defiantly a tear jerker!
I love the dexter character. He's just so interesting, I mean why is it that all of us are drawn to this character? I mean he Kills people...It's interesting to think about. It makes you wonder how human dexter really is. You know what I mean? And no I am not saying we are all serial killers lol deff not. At least I hope not haha
@jazzymcjazzster I think thats the point though... What it is, it's a struggle for Dexter... His innocence was taken from him the moment he witnessed his mom was killed in front of him... now growing up it's become a conflicted struggle with him, yearning to gain that humanity he was robbed of, and hopes one day to be rid of his dark Passenger.... We might not be killers, but everyone has that Dark Passengers, those urges that needs to be met... and we hope one day, we can cope without them...
Think about how it must suck to die without being able to see how Dexter ends. We all have to value life and appreciate how in todays world we all get to see these amazing shows that give us a moment of happiness. I really love Movies but TV has gotten better for some reason. It's truly going to be hard to ever take out this show and I really think we all have a dark side but what I love about Dexter is that he doesn't have a dark side. He just has a badly developed brain due to what he saw at 2
I thought Burn Notice was my favorite show until 1 month ago when I watched Dexter. I was hooked big time from the first episode! I feel so lucky because I took a week off of work to just watch all 4 seasons back to back. That's all I did for days without sleep.. I had to because what if I die and I never get to see what happens? That's how I feel about the 3rd Batman movie, I'm trying to live a very passive and safe life because I wonder how many people miss these shows and movies. That sucks
@TheBeingMeganChannel Of course! But what about those who started to watch Dexter just recently? They might bump into this video after season 3, before they start at season 4. Or be in the middle of it, or whatever.
@Ikurun Seriously, true that. I only started season 1 this summer, and a lot of my friends are only starting season 1 now... Hopefully, ONE OF US can get to season 4 without having been spoiled on the finale...
@TheBeingMeganChannel or how about us UK folks huh? season 4 airs with us this summer because you greedy assholes said we couldnt have it till u have aired it twice
I don't know about that... Just because something horrible happens to someone as child doesn't mean that person has a to be something horrible. maybe the cycle could stop... who knows you could be right... hope not
Well his father trained him closely for 10 years. Dexter has a lot up his arsenal, which is probably why he was able to overpower Doakes physically on more than one occasion.
How can you think that!? There is no possiable way ANYONE could ignore this scene. It one of the best scenes on the ENTIRE show!
But I must admit that I think in the final episode of season one, when Brian/Rudy uses a tranquilizer on dexter, that always makes my tummy flip . . . I don't know why . . .
I think that the scene got a little lost among the 'OMG DEXTER IS MARRIED AND HAVING A BABY AND DEB'S GONNA FIND OUT ABOUT BRIAN' fiasco.
But season 4 (which i've only just finished watching) was amazing, and yes, very VERY crasy.
The ending was . . wierd . . it seemed to be very anti-climatic when *don't want to spoil it for anyone* then all of a sudden BAM, it happened. I'm still in shock, i'm not sure wether it's true, the producers are having mess with us or i just imaganied it!
best scene EVER(so far)to showcase Michael C. Halls skills as an actor is season 4, #4 when he kills the female cop...his response to her saying he will chose his life over that of his families...I FELT that scene
I completely agree with you on this scene. It is probably the most moving scene in the series. I just discovered his show. I rented the first season on DVD, and promptly went out and rented the 2nd and 3rd season. I just ordered Showtime so could watch the 4th. I'm completely addicted and I now know what I'm going to ask my family to give me for my birthday-complete series of Dexter on DVD!
Ok, or Dexter had been on drugs, or he is a little bit wrong when he says so many times that he got no feelings(on the books)...i think he has, even just a few and sleeping ones...he's not so synthetic like that.
Yeah, me too. BUT: I never cry while watching TV series, I don't know why, but I can't seem to produce any tears. I feel the feelings and the emotions, but it won't show. I'm not able to show emotions, for some reason. o_o;
"I forgive you.." It's so strong, and that's what made me upload this scene. It is so.. GOOD! I can't describe it... Dexter and Six Feet Under is the only series that have made me feel this emotional.
(some bad English there, I was in a hurry). But. Strong scene, indeed!
I feel the same way. This was a beautiful scene. This was my favorite Dexter episode ever. I especially liked right after this scene when he rocks the table and gets free, then kills the skinner.
I did cry two times:
The movie "Click" by Adam Sandler. When he is rewinding his life to the last time he saw his father made me cry, and also when he was an old man leaving the hospital out into the rain after his family. Those two scenes made me cry.
Happy that you also like this scene, and thanks for commenting. =)
I've only seen "Click". I remember the scene, but it did nothing to me. :/
To me, Adam Sandler is a comedy actor, and is not a person who would have brought tears to my eyes. But, haven't watched too many Adam Sandlers though.
Have you watched "Forrest Gump"? I promise, if you cried when you watched "Click", you'll cry when you watch "Forrest Gump".
i heard harry was the dark passenger. why would the dark passenger act lime this tho?

Because I didn't really hear any discussion about this scene after the episode was aired (compard to the final of season four, which was craaazy!!).
I also get that feeling from the last episode of season one.
