  • the video isnt about the sound of the brakes .. it's about why did the pilot kept the thrust reverser that long .. it's a big mistake, it must get disengages at 90 knots for a 747, but look like it got disengaged at 40-50 knots !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    i guess you were confused by the loud sound of the reversers but that's normal to any landing.

    it probably came from stmaarten and than stopped at curacao and continu to AMS. so they have almost no fuel aboard giving it a low landing speed and fast braking

  • This is a very normal landing. The smoke from the wheels is because a stationary wheel has to spin up to the landing speed the moment it touches the runway.

  • It's intresting listening to the couple when the plane first lands. The wife is impressed on the short roll out of the Jumbo. Hubby says 'there are probably few people on it". She retorts with something of "I bet it's crammed full". I bet she was right.

    This is a near perfect non direct ILS approach, with touchdown before the normal line. Whith sublime feeling and accuracy, because that is what they love to do!!! And are amoung the best pilots in the world. Because they get treated that way accordingly.

    Deze landing is meer dan perfect, deze Captain en Co Pilot landen deze 747 nog eerder en met meer liefde dan in het boekje.

  • @mjcuracao als je een beetje oplet zie je dat ze motoren openblijven tot ie bijna stilvalt, dat is de reverse thrust, die zetten ze rond de 60 á 70 kts uit. niet wanneer die bijna stistaat. dus idd full break

    Ze vallen al eerder uit, maar hebben een visuele en ook nog een geluidsvertraging van idioten die op afstand toekijken!

    Dat is juist zo leuk van Curacao!

    Hier weten we dat er regels en wetten zijn.

    Maar we leven zonder hoofdpijn, en vooral zonder die onnodige stress en migraines.

    We vliegen en landen als echte PILOTEN zonder POLITIE die zit te kijken WAT JIJ ELKE MINUUT DOET!!!

  • Another professional landing by KLM. Normal braking. And....who does not like the 747 ? The 380 is impressive, but not the looks.

  • that's a routine landing, very nice but certainly not a "full brake" landing.. tire sound was not from the aircraft ... enjoyed it (i've logged a few thousand landings on that particular runway)

  • How were they doing that?? If you're wondering why they stayed open for so long, it doesn't mean its actually reverse thrusting the whole time, you can hear the engine already power down, but they just dont close immediately :)

  • @Curacao2006 these planes have only 30.000kgs of fuel onboard, and far below max t/o weight

  • @FSRyanair It carries 30.000 kgs of fuel prior the departure from SXM. After an approximate flight time to Curacao of 1:15 hrs it carries a bit less :)

  • @estoyaqui85 It didnt land slow. It was probably touching down at about 140 knots.

    It appeared slow because of its massive size.

  • Dit is mijn eiland ook maar denk dat de piloot nieuw is en met weinig ervaring of land deze piloot eerste keer op TNCC. Full break betekend veel dingen namelijk moeite met cross wind haha .

  • meestal maakt de 747 een lange roll out , maar bij die video zie je dat hij toch wat sneller van de baan wou.

  • klop dat wel. kan ook zijn dat ie laat is

  • De wind hielp ook mee met de landing, want er staat bijna altijd harde oostenwind, dus zoveel hoeft ie niet zelf af te remmen.

    Ben er zelf ook daar geweest.

  • Ja dat is standaard dat de wind mee help om te remmen daarom gebruikt de piloot de spoilers maar normaal gesproken gaaat de 747 een lange roll out van de baan tot het einde omdat meestal niet zoveel landende verkeer is
