I have this camera, when I choose the slow motion my picture comes out much darker than normal. Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated! Thanx
Just bought that same camera the other day and it is great. But thing i cant figure out is how to get such clean and non choppy slow motion. I have vegas 9 HD. If you have any ideas on how to solve the problem please let me know.
The three pass scene took a while to do... I used Adobe After Effects where I layered three separate videos all shot at the same angle on top of each other. Then I created a mask around my brother that, frame-by-frame, moved with him. (I also put a mask around the log the gets knocked over). Over all its a time consuming process but it is relatively simple to do.
@fayyazb Yeah, It took me a while to get the hang of the slow motion setting, but your right it only has a three second duration.
The only way to really get the slow motion to look good is to record it in a high light setting, like outdoors on a bright day. The more light you get the higher quality the video will appear

I just checked Amazon.com and it seems they don't have the bundle pack I bought anymore. But if you search Sony HDR XR150, you can find accessory packs for really cheap with stuff like extra batteries, lenses, filters, carrying cases, tripods, and other stuff you may or may not use.
If your going to buy this camera, I think the extras are worth it... but it all depends on what your planning on using the camera for and how often you plan on using it.
@ArmandoSK8ING4JESUS Definitely! Especially if you can get a good deal on it... I recommend buying off Amazon where I got it in a bundle pack for $100 less then retail
The slow motion effect is awesome on it, but it takes a little practice to figure out how to use right
If you want, you should check out my other video I made, to see how high quality the camera actually is
Make sure you change the the settings to from 360p to 720p... It completely changes the picture quality
Hello friend, can you help me? i have the same camera, and i cant find the choice for recorder in slow motion , can you guide me please?, grettings from Chile
Hey! So if you go to the menu, at the bottom there is a 'show others' option. Choose that. That's going to lead you to a long list of options, settings and recording modes. Look for the one called 'SMTH SLW REC' under manual settings and choose it.
Hope that helps
By the way the slow motion recording is a little hard to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, its a lot of fun
how did you export the clips off your camera. when i use the sony software they are in 1080p but in .m2ts file format and when i export them out of the software i only have the option for 360p
I used iMovie on my Mac, which automatically detects the camera (via USB) and gives you the option of exporting your video at the same resolution as you recorded. It exports it as a Quicktime Movie (.mov), and then from there you can use what ever software you choose to edit.
Unfortunately, I have never used the Sony Software, so I don't know how to help you there.
Im getting this camera 4 christmas it looks so epic by the waay

@mkulp054 Thanks! It makes sense. GOOD IDEA though!
But isn't the Slow-Mo limited to 3 secs. and in low-quality? Or can you increase the duration and have high quality in Slow-Mo?
Thanks
