built my own I7 920 pc oc'ed 3.8ghz, ati 5850 and 6gig 1600 ddr3 for £900 that would rape most Alienware PC's at 2-3 times the price i payed for my rig. Alienware your just paying for a nice looking case thats all.

@george8345 1st off, it's an amazing laptop, I can play high end games, work on music, and do video editing. To be honest, the colors and being able to change the color of the keyboard to the alien on the back is so worth the money, for me anyways.

Yes, it can run all the latest games great, it even has 2 gfx cards I can switch between them for gaming and for regular cpu usage email, web browsing etc. I mainly use my laptop for music production though, although Borderlands has been awesome and the new Bioshock 2 looks SICK!

my friend has the m15x and its such a sick laptop. i think it is worth the money since they lowered the price. i have an old alienware desktop and love it. my only complaint would be some of the slight design flaws on the m15x . because my p.c is solid but i would think alienware would make sure there laptop is almost flawless before it hit the market.

the alienware m15x is alright if u arrogant, you are basically paying £1000 for a poorly made laptop with a shit screen and to be honest you dont get top notch stuff like graphics card if you have £1000 i would recommend the asus g71v it might not have the alien fx but it still has pretty sick lights and you get much more for your money and you dont get a missive squeak when you open the lid :D shinny laptop tho lol

We had 1 problem with the games freezing, it was a heat sync issue which was known with some of the m15x models, Alienware sent a new part within 3 days and helped us install it over the phone, super awesome customer services guys and the m15x hasn't had a problem since. Sorry to hear your computer didn't turn out, did you try calling alienware to have them replace it?

My m15x has had all sorts of problems since i had it. Last week my 8800 gtx stopped working after 1 year. I called and reported the problem 1 day before the end of my warranty!!! thank god...problem is that i think the video card will only be good for another. Shame.

+ i havent received the replacement card yet since it is back order. I would not recommend spending that much money on a alienware. Unless youre getting it for free on a company account.

OMFG i am using mine right now. i can tell you just got it, after a while you start to see the negative side to this laptop. - The screen creaks - The lights look awesome but they malfunction sometimes. - The laptop is so fragile software-wise - Its made out of cheap plastic - I got the 8800 gtx and i can barely handle crysis warhead on gamer let alone full specs. - The heat on the right side of the laptop starts to get annoying. - Battery is crap
