I'm sure it was the lack of entusiasm that makes people question the authenticity. Trust me, most people don't find them oftem or ever. But if you're in an area that produces such coins often, then it's just like another penny to you.

Hey i hope you could help me out with this question.. im going to buy my first metal detector but i dont know which one to choose between the fisher f2 or the garrette ace 250 or any other brand that is other 300 dollars. I want one that picks up real good signal and one thats good with finding silver and gold. I dont really know much about metal detecting so can you please help me out here if you can

@sscindercoop maybe 'cause your excitement level isn't really that high when you find the half dollars. Almost as if it's no big deal to dig something like that. Not saying it's fake, but to me that's pretty amazing when most of the time you will find a pull tab or a can. lol

I assure you its the real deal, I have found a lot better coins then walking liberty halfs including a gold coin, No need to lie my friend. The town were they were found had a carnival that had the silver halfs as prizes ,So they are pretty common there. You are in a great location, A little research and proper technique should produce some keepers. Best of luck & HH

Nice finds, I almost think that it was not real (no offense bud, lol!) until you showed the imprints of the coin spill. WOW, I have so much to learn, only found ONE silver in all my hunts, all clad... Everyone else makes it look so simple. Maybe NC was just broke back in the day. LOL
