Mickey Rooney is the last of, not only the Golden Era of Hollywood, but the era of silent movies. Imagine that! Rooney was in silent movies and is still making "pictures" as they called them, today. From 1926 up until now, he's been through it all in show biz and he knew them all.

@saxophoney he`s not the last we still have Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine who both worked in the 1930`s. Jane Russell , Elizabeth Taylor and Doris Day are also still alive .

Love him or hate him, Mr Rooney is one of the few people from the Golden Age of Hollywood that's still around. At one time in the late 30's & early 40's he was the NUMBER ONE box office attraction in the world. He could do it all: sing, dance, act, etc. A real dynamo. More of a charismatic "force of nature" than anything else. He's probably more surprised than anyone else that he's still here..he even still tours & performs! Much married; but a LONG & HAPPY present marrige! Good for him!

If you grew up with Mickey and his beautiful movies, you will see a great little bloke. Watch a few of his old movies, and you will understand.
