The benefit of this airport is their Duty Free shops and Garuda Indonesia lounge. The check-in counters, immigration, departure hall and boarding room are suck. My father mocked this airport as ugly and needs some touch especially at Terminal 2.

Really a lousy international airport, especially at the arrival hall...the lighting still dimmed and the signboard is not clear to show the direction. The officer seem like purposely delay the processing and ask a lots of nonsence questions!

This a very dirty & mis-managed airport. The security once ask me for money, and they insisted asked for us dollar not rupia. When you are out from baggage claim some crooks are waiting for you outside offering a illegal taxi and they securities acted like they're a friend of those crooks. Airport in Lusaka, Zambia is even better than this airport. My grade for this airport D-. Please correct me if anyone think i'm writing a false review!

@octg278 I was three times (2009) in Jakarta. U are right. Really bad and corruption. No Monorail, No Bus to Jakarta, No Trainstation at Airport, no Metro, so bad. Illegal taxi outside from Airport, People ask Money and and and. The only one serious public transport there is Blue Bord Taxi, the rest is Bullshit. Kuala Lumpur and Singapore are much much better!

I always love to visit Indonesia, it's a beautiful country and has great food. Garuda restaurant is my most favorite. I like the model of the airport but I wished they had AC at the arrival international terminal. I think the cleaniness of the restroom is acceptable comparing to other countries in the region. There is always a guy cleaning the restroom. I find Indonesians that I know are friendly and helpful. Customs police of most asian countries are not friendly except Singapore, HK and Macau.

Judging from the fashion and technology used (in the airport), I'd say this film was made around 17 years ago...However, it's surprising to see that not so much has changed in Jakarta airport (apart from the monitors and the fact that they're using x-ray machines now)...The airport is in dire need of a much-deserved renovation...I hope they'll do it soon...

thank God it's not as bad now in jakarta airport... couple of tips:

1. never enter the departure toilet infront of duty free shop (those are disgusting and u've got to squat down). always go for the departure toilets or the ones at terminal E

2. currently, due to terrorist attempts, security is pretty tight; thus money doesn't really work (and there's a high probability of you being caught for doing so)
