Nvidia users seriously need to check 3D Settings in your Nvidia Control Panel and set the "Render Frames Ahead" from 3 to 2. The difference is night and day.

Run at higher resolutions (1280~1900) with AA disabled. The game runs great its just that people don't know how to configure their computers to remove the "quirks." These settings are for ALL games - not just GTA IV.

Go to the Nvidia control panel and under 3D Settings change "Max Pre-Rendered Frames" to 2 instead of 3. It makes a huge difference. Also, try turning on Vsync and Turning Off Vsync - depending on your setup it may run better with/without.

I heard ( at least) that on the PS3, GTAIV ran at 480i on medium settings 25-30fps. OFC there probably where minor differences with settings due to the console version only being programmed for one configuration, but that's it.

Cunt? The reason your GPU sucks is because your card is older then the 512MB. The 320MB and the 640MB are both using the older g80 core. The 512MB GTS uses the G92 core.

Usually this does not make much difference at all but it will with GTA IV if you use higher resolutions. Also it will be better if the memory is DDR3 or higher. Unlike most games, the CPU is very important in GTA IV.
