  • Nothing amazes me like this video. He was so intimate with the guitar. I wish we still had him around.

  • Can you hate and love someone at the same time? XD LOL! Long live to Ray!

  • This version gives me chills everytime I hear it. One of my biggest influences on guitar. RIP SRV!

  • He could put cigarettes out on his fingers and not notice...

  • Killer!

  • A true legend.

  • Hendrix disliked 4 times.

  • @roryrawks Maybe not Hendrix but some Hendrix worshiping zombies for sure

  • @Jesrama1

I don't think it can be that either. Anyone who appreciates Jimi Hendrix can appreciate this.

Just 4 idiots, which out of over 156k views isn't too bad.

  • @CityGov Go watch a video of Stevie playing Voodoo Chile or Little Wing, read some of the comments and you'll know what I was talking about. BTW, what has this performance to do with Hendrix is beyond me

  • Oh my god.

  • Unreal....

  • it's fuckin' impossible to play.... though still tryin';)

  • The greatest guitarist of all time. Hendrix would have been in awe!

  • That guitar will never walk again...

  • I love the sound of Stevie´s fingers hitting the pickguard.

  • @fc7alibi I love that too. That was awesome =)

  • Many people find this song hard to play on electric guitar. Imagine how hard it is to play it on a 12-string guitar

  • did that guitar set fire there for a second???

  • 4 people don't have fingers

  • holy shit... all i have to say

  • You will never see a guy like this again ever

  • SRV was unstoppable

  • Wait! MTV played music?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Who the fuck are the 4 morons that don't like this performance???

  • I'm a noob, but what's so hard about playing on a 12 string? Is it just harder to hold onto notes in the left hand or what?

  • @Sappyspartan N00B

  • @CLWHITEHEAD1 Obviously you are incapable of explanation...or maybe that was your explanation in COD language

  • @Sappyspartan How does someone get THAT offended by "N00B"? It was a joke, relax.

  • @CLWHITEHEAD1 It's been a while since you last played COD

  • @Sappyspartan WHY ARE YOU BRINGING UP COD...I seriously have no idea what you are talking about. :D

  • @Sappyspartan Its like for every finger instead of one string there are 2 so it puts alot of strain on the fingers.... let alone a Stevie Ray Vaughan song puts alot of strain on the fingers.

  • Stevie just killed it. WOW. Completely mesmerized for two and half minutes.

  • Holy shit... Like seriously... What the fuck just happened? For 2 minutes and 31 seconds I was truly in another plain of existance...

  • 12 strings power yea

  • too bad i wasn't alive to whitness this magic happen, FML

  • My hand started cramping up just watching this bastard play. A true God in music.

  • ...I'm selling all my guitars now >.<

  • 4 people mistyped the like button

  • 9 months later, guitar gave birth.

  • That impressed me when he played it on a 6 string. On a 12 string im now convinced he is god himself.

  • this is what it looks like to RAPE a guitar

  • JUst witnessed god 1st hand

  • Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus!

  • Oh my GOD!

  • I love all the techie dissection of how its done (thin pick, eq, etc.).....kills the genuine simplistic freestyle beauty of what SRV created.

I've yet to hear someone rock a 12 string as good as him.

  • I can't believe I have left it this long to hear SRV! This is blues , big band, swing. rockabilly magic!! Tommy Emmanuel's 'guitar boogie' has, for me, some similarities to this . He too is influenced by Stevie ray Vaughan. That says it all!

  • That man's finger strength...

  • i totally agree with willsbob, dont question the vaughan, you won't win

  • What's with the video cutting off before the song's over!?!?!? P.I.T.A.!!!!!

  • holy shit

  • AHHHH NEVER MIND YOUR SOUND ON THE VID IS JUST SHIT

  • Comment removed

  • @praster666

You don't know what you'te talking about!

Try it in that pase with a thick pick....and let us know how it goes:)...in a video purhaps

  • @praster666 No. One could never get that kind of attack intensity and precision with a thin pick. I'll admit that it does sound like a thin pick, but that's due to several facts: 1. small-diapraghm condenser microphone, 2 - twelve-string guitar, 3 - EQ ...all of the mentioned tend to bring out the crispness in the high-end which emphasizes the high frequency chime you hear every time he hits the strings. Either way, great video.

  • @praster666 and the sound your hearing is him hitting the pick cover on the guitar, almost impossible to not hit when playing something like this.

  • If he plays this it looks like its so easy. But it isn't! Wow... even acoustic Stevie was brilliant!

  • No effects, no tricks,Just the best being the best !

    A real guitar players player.

  • My wife once said she'd be willing to try to learn this. If she could play this half as good as SRV...our kid's college education would be paid for and then some!

  • here is my acosutic version youtube.comwatch?v=cVWzY87lGRU&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

  • haha it's true, if srv tried to squeeze your hand in a handshake, i think your hand bones would get pushed up into your arm. :-)

  • @sinprelic yeah he played stiff strings!!!!!

  • why'd you speed it up??

  • oh lord have mercy on those poor poor strings.

  • Wow, I thought, before watching, it was a "regular" acoustic guitar and I was like "Hmm, it'll be awesome" and then I saw that 12 strings guitar and I don't know what to think anymore.

  • how bloody must his fingers have been geez!!!!

  • That's a virtuose or what ? B'dammed !!!!!

  • Some people can bend and hold it with vibrato on a six string electric some are good enough to do it on an acoustic.Stevie Ray could do it on a twelve string..........WHAT!!!!!Look at his face when he does it??Does he knows he's playing a 12 string? That's not normal,If he gave you one of those joke hand shakes where people squeeze your hand really tight I could easily imagine him breaking all of my fingers.RIP Stevie,You Monster.

  • @SRV1DOORS1HENDRIX1 not only that he played that guitar SOOOO CLEAN he is flawless

  • great video bro Thank you very much.:)

  • FUCKIN' PERFECT!!!

  • @RockRulesItaly

    That's exactly what i thought.

  • head aspload

  • Eargasm.

  • TNT Live - BANE GT BAND - Stevie Ray Vaughan best cover!!!!!!!!!

  • I... I think I'm pregnant now.

  • Apparently he cracked the fretboard of that guitar during this show.

  • does anyone know where i can find the testify vid of this, that one was crazy really

  • God bless SRV!

  • this is amazing.......this video is not sped up, trust me....stevie could probably move faster than this

  • The name of this piece is 'Testify,' by the way.

  • @IAmtheNexusOne na its rude mood testify is completely different

  • @IAmtheNexusOne It's 'Rude Mood' not 'Testify'

  • I have seen this performance a hundred times and whomever posted this sped it up considerably.

Still great, but VERY inaccurate and misleading.

  • @IAmtheNexusOne If his playing is sped up why are the camera men and crowd still moving around at normal speed?

  • @pbag82 Just consider it a compliment to Stevie that this person has no idea he could play that well and that fast.

  • fuck my ass and call me wendy .. he plays that on a 12 string ?! isnt the man aware that physics & elemental laws dont allow that ?

  • MY MIND HAS EXPLODED MY POOR 10 YEAR OLD MIND!!!!

  • @mratticus17

lol your mind has exploded your mind? =D

  • joe satch came on with a banjo because he was to scared to play guitar after seeing this

  • Ok, I think I might just quite playing guitar now haha!

  • LOL Satriani came out and played a banjo...huh?? WTF?!?

  • His talent is so immense that he is able to impregnate his audiences from beyond the grave.

  • @Polytes1 that makes no sense but i like it lol

  • @sk8erfighter44 oh sure it does

  • he owned MTV with a bar stool and a 12 string. frikkin' epic show

  • @davopolis

    Lol, and the 12-bar.

  • @davopolis and a hat... Don't forget the hat.

  • @AthaDick most definitely not. :)

  • at least we know that there are 2 stupid people in the world... O.o bravo!

  • OK to the 2 who didn't like this go fuck yourselves Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best

  • what...the....fcuk

  • why this channel is not available for Poland?

  • F*CKING AWESOME!!!!

    O.O

  • this shows stevie ray vaughan was amazing a 12 string acoustic and he can still rock like crazy

  • My mind isn't even that fast some days... Not to mention the fact that my fingers are never that fast.

  • Imagine if Tommy Emmanuel met SRV

  • .... When i first started this comment i was speechless. 10 minutes after the video i finally processed the whole 2 and a half minute song. Wow!

  • srv you are one crazy fuck ! love you man !!!

  • stevie is the shit..........rip..SRV

  • wow my fingers are tired just from watching!

  • @bg676

    Not to mentioned bloodied.

  • So good. In my opinion, him and John Fruciante are the closest anyone has gotten to Jimi.

  • @fguka

YES! thank you for pointing that out, frusciante is very overlooked, just check out his infamous "Bedroom lick" on youtube, very hendrix like yet original, and SRV, well, he's just a beast on the guitar..

  • SRV FANTASTIC

  • And what purpose this have? Where is the emotion? Wannabe yngwie.

  • @seppo16 You can burn in hell you son of a bitch. SRV is a blues guitarist, not a shitty metal guitar player like Yngwie.

  • @seppo16 what purpose have you? Besides being unintelligent?

  • straight up acoustic............I Love it!!!!

  • one of the nastiest, if not they nastiest, things you will see in your life!

  • the best

  • pretty fuckin mindblowing if you ask me

  • This is simply totally awesome!!! Satriani, Malmsteen, Michael Angelo, Van Halen: just watch and learn!

  • shit

  • holy

  • too bad he died that year............he was a legand and would of been way better and more respected if he was alive................ LONG LIVE SRV!!

  • hmmmmm....I can't really find the words to express my utmost appreciation & respect for the talent SRV had....

  • He's a beast while playing on a guitar!!!

  • all I can I say is WOW! SRV is a god!

  • Who´s been the one who has given SRV a thumb down? ROFL

  • brak słów!

  • This man has the hands of a guitar god, and anything that was lucky enough to have touched them should be treated with more value then gold haha

  • Usually people's acoustic versions are toned down a little or a whole other arrangement for the song is used. But not Stevie, he's note for note ball's out. He plays his acoustics like he does his electrics and shows no mercy.

  • Everyone has their own opinions about who the greatest guitarist ever and there's many many many candidates who could be classified as "the best"... but I think everybody knows deep down that Stevie Ray Vaughan really was as good as it will ever get on this planet. He really was "the best". Ever. Period.

  • @Drpepper687 COULDNT AGREE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Drpepper687 completely agree, when the day comes that someone can play rude mood on a fuckin 12 string with 14 gauge strings we can have an argument

  • @Drpepper687 maybe not ever, people said hendrix was the best, and then SRV came along and expanded on what hendrix left off and added his own style to it. Hopefully someone will some day come along and do the same with SRV's music. Entirely possible considering both of them died young and a lot of talent went undiscovered. Plus, there's always that one musician in the middle of bumblefuck nowhere that no one has discovered yet and may never be discovered.

  • @Drpepper687 I think comparing guitarist is kind of lame but to say there is a best well idk search this Paco de Lucia - Almoraima Falseta - Bulerias (Good Quality) youtube.

  • @Drpepper687 agreeed!!!!!!! i cried when i googled the news coverage of his death. i was 5 years old and it still is really sad. can you imagine if he was still around????

  • @param3dic85

All the time. Music is so horrible these days, I think he would have kept the blues and rock going had he lived. Instead of this rap garbage they flood the airwaves with now...

  • el que le puso un deo pa bajo no sabe nada!

  • Its How he learned to play in the first place, it what made him WHAT he IS, if you wanna learn guitar you first play acousticly

  • left hand at :53

  • THE BEST!

  • Is that even posible on a 12strings guitar? There you got it. Stevie IS a god!

  • now thats just f.cking sick! do a search for tommy emmanuel stevies blues guitar boogie - another INCREDIBLE guitarist

  • OMFG

  • he is crazy bananas good! :O

  • I Love SRV!!! Thanks :D

  • holy shit

  • stunt guitarist.. :P

  • creo que stevie ray vaughan y jimi hendrix son los maximos guitarristas de la historia de la musica...simplemente son de otra dimension. Seguramente Dios disfruta con su musica en este momento.

  • Someone should have informed Stevie that in this universe you aren't allowed to go faster than lightspeed.

But that's OK, he didn't know.

  • @Taraalcar best comment ever xD

  • he was in his prime right after quitting drugs.. imagine what he would be playing today if he hadn't died

  • Well if he hadn't, it would have been Jimmie on the helicopter. I imagine he might have retired for at least several years out of grief.

  • a bad ass stevie ray vaughan and a 12 string guitar....just like a marine and his rifile.

and also that 12 string is a GUILD best built guitar

  • what model 12string is that

  • das maß aller dinge! SEHT UND STAUNT!!

  • Stevie Ray can

  • nobody can play like that, i mean, nobody...

  • SO AWESOME. srv is the man.

  • No matter how many times I watch this video I can't get over the fact that he plays with his eyes closed and it's no big deal at all!

That and I remember reading a story about Stevie cracking the neck on this very 12 string from just playing it. His hands were THAT strong!!

  • @csi2448

Copy-paste from Stevie Ray Vaughan Equipment page

Timothy Duckworth, Vaughan's personal assisstant, owned a Guild JF6512 12-string acoustic guitar, and gave it to him in 1985. Timothy recalls that, sometime after the "MTV Unplugged" performance in 1990, Stevie's hands were so strong that he accidentally cracked the neck on the guitar. It has been on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas since then.

  • @Chaky1974 There we go, thanks for putting that on here! Can anyone confirm that the guitar is still at the Hard Rock Cafe?

  • @csi2448 Yes it is as of last October.

  • @pherretlord October of 2010 or 2009?

  • total control and total confidence!! what an amazing man

  • : O that the quitar dind exspolde xD ...

  • It always amazes me how relaxed his right hand is the entire time he's playing...i could watch Stevie play all day.

  • I know, right? His picking hand there is unbelieavble! On a 12-string no less.

  • SRV rules! he is amazing!

  • there are 1000s of exelent guitarists, but compare any of them to SRV, they are all at best decent... i mean, how did his guitar not start to cry during that? i mean SRV took it and bent it to his will! amazing!

  • hahahahahha

srv you son of a bitch.

  • i heard the guitar had to downgrade to a 6 string after that !!! haha... UNREAL ...

  • That guitar retired after that song :P .... WOW

  • bit to busy for my tastes but pretty frickin still

  • O.o Jaw Dropping indeed...and eye poppin either way (versions)
