the atari 5200 was terrible. I heard from AngeryNintendoNerd that it started out mostly broken when you first buy it.
...but the other atari systems were pretty good.

how do you know it's terrible if you've only heard about it from AVGN???
I played it a lot growing up and thought it was pretty cool and didn't think it was terrible at all.
