Jack wants to use it on this a woman, whose name i can't think of right now, how ever the last time Jack used the chair on a person their head head blew up.

Jack said it hadn't to be used again, but they did Ianto sat in the chair pretending that his head was going the exprode.

Was and is one of my fave Ianto parts.

This is so beautiful, Ianto has always been my favourite character (besides Jack) and I personally dont see what the need to kill him off was??? I got Owen and Toshs deaths but Ianto I dont think Ive ever cried so hard over something fictional since the end of Queer as Folk!

I don't mean to diminish the impact of Tosh and Owen's deaths, but I, like you, could accept their deaths because they died doing something heroic. They helped save the world. Ianto's death...it was so pointless. Maybe the point is that death is often unfair and pointless, but I want better for Ianto. God knows he deserves it.

i live in america so i have little access to torchwood info so if the producers or writers have given any reasons why killing ianto was necessary or way the hell they did it could someone tell me? I mean for god sakes there was 1 episode left, was ending it with Jack and Ianto together just to happy?

As far as I know, no reason has been given as to why Ianto was killed off, but it seems like the idea behind this series was just to completely blow Torchwood so sky-high that if there's no series 4 there's no reason for fans to want it.

...Yes...I'm still bitter. =/ Maybe the feelings will dissipate over a few days, but the disappointment and grief is just so raw.

Absolutely; even though Gwen is always billed as the eyes of the everyday person, I've always felt that Ianto filled that position.

Perhaps I'm blinded by love for the character but I just don't understand the logic behind killing him. Tosh and Owen reminded us that it's a dangerous world and anything can happen, but despite the gorgeous backstory we got for Ianto this series I feel like the character was screwed over. It's heartbreaking.
