@darthroden I don't really know what point that I have accepted from Neo-Nazis other then the fact that their ideoligy is based on white supremacy. What I am saying is that the Confederate flag can be easily corrolated to racism through history just like the Nazi swastika. That is why those Nazis are deffending it. Its seem like most people out side of the south can't see that. Its sad that you can't.

Actually, if I am not mistaken...and I am sure I am not...having watched the video it seems to me that when the Neo-Nazis themselves tried to associate themselves with it, the people of South Carolina booed them down.
Also, I have looked at all of the footage of this particular event that I could stomach and I did not see one battle flag carried by the Nazis...though I did see a Betsy Ross and a US flag...I guess they are symbols of racism now huh?

@darthroden First of all ovcourse those southerns dont want to associate there confererate heritage with the Nazis because Nazi history should be viewed as embarrising. Unfortinately they cant see the embarrising mark that the confederacy, and the flag that represents it, have had on the U.S. They don't want to open there eyes and see the racism that corrolates between the confederacy and the Nazis.

And if you remember the Confederates did in fact emancipate their slaves at the end of the war to enlist them into service of their own free will (granted out of desperation, but then again progressive is progressive one can argue).
Who is to say that if the Confederacy had won and still existed that it would have stagnated and not achieved the same advances socially with the help of the right people in charge? Its arrogance to assume you understand human nature to that degree.

@darthroden If there were all these black Confederate soldiers, given that we don't see them show up [in historical records] as prisoners or killed or wounded, they must have been the best troops the Confederacy ever had, because they were never killed, wounded or captured. So an entire army of black Confederates would have been invincible lol. one is at a loss to understand why white Southerners debated so ferociously over the introduction of blacks in the Confederate army late in the war.

Its arrogance to assume that slavery would have continued if the confereracy would have continued? Ya I guess blacks should have waited to be freed by the confederates. @darthroden The U.S flag unlike the confederate flag redeemed itself of racist ties when it defeated a govenment that faught to protect slavery and the racist ideoligy that saught to uphold slavert aka the confederacy and the flag that represents it. Its not my fault the people who have waved the confederate flag for most of its history waved it to preresent white supremacy and hatred. You can thank your ancestors for that. Betsy Ross just made the U.S flag which reigns over the confederacy.

The real nazis tried to relate themselves to christianity so the german people could feel more comfortable relating to it. I live in the south and have family that have lived here for generations and im pretty sure they have a good understanding of what that flag represents and its not peace between the races.

First of all, I do not sugar coat anything....there are your assumptions again. I accept Southern history and its heritage with all the scars as well as all the beauty...and I looked at Southern history beyond just the War Between The States, but also Colonial times as well as modern times.
Secondly, my parents taught me nothing of the sort, indeed before I became a historian I blindly accepted everything you do now...and I was much worse for it believe me.

Well I can not vouch for what part of the South you live in or what sort of people you hang around with, however I challenge the notion that anything less than say 95% of the displays of that flag are for any reasons other than benign ones.

They had to suffer the hoarers of slavery which that flag represented. Also during the jim crow erra and civil rights erra why were white waving that flag... equality for all races please. It is decisive between blacks and whites in this country due to misuse and ignorance and lack of proper education.
No I do not expect anyone to forget how the flag was misused during Jim Crow...if anything I want the lesson of that branded into the brains of every Southerner white, black, hispanic, ect....so that it is never allowed to happen again. I never want those who misuse that glorious flag to ever have credibility when they try to co-opt it in the future and fail.
