Tai chi taught digitally by someone who can't probably demonstrate properly. If you can't do it right how can you gain credibility. The back muscle sounds about right, but the body does break structure slightly. You forget that the energy must coil upwards, thus torsion and movement of the back is somewhat necessary.
I was wrong about the "circular power" video being the dumbest thing i'd ever seen. It's almost like you didn't even try on this one. Were you on a time limit and just through some words together without regard for their relationship to each other or their relationship to rational thought.
You not really moving in tai chi your self. You moving energy which you drawed in the opening move. And the more concentrated the energy you are moving the heavyer it feels.
lol he's cant really talk very well... he's talkig in a monotone voice as if reading from a script and he doesn't understand a world he said. god knows i didn't.
Taijiquan is performed at a "casual" pace for several reasons at various stages of training. Early on the main difficulty is maintain six harmony coordination in the body's movements. This is the core of Taiji's raw power. More advanced practice is concerned with maintaining the correct multiplicity in intent and with allowing the body's accumulated incorrect strength to atrophy away. This refines your ability to change.
It's even simpler: You practice Tai Chi slowly because it's really hard to maintain Tai Chi while moving. Moving slowly is also much better to observate one's movements so you can be sure not to use intentional force while practicing.
You also would drive slowly on a really really really hard racing track to not get in contact with the track limitations.
Um...some Tai Chi postures, especially Chen Style are not done slowly and are very dynamic and almost Kung Fu like. They still obey the real principle of Tai Chi even when performed at a brisker pace than the Celebrex style of Tai Chi everyone thinks of. Therefore your concepts in this video are inaccurate and need clarification.
if you do not know anything about taichi, plz do not mislead other ppl, ok~~!!! i have done tai chi for 7 years, i have never heard of anything such as "moving slow gives you more power ". like you said if slow taichi movement gives you more power do you want to get punched by other wushu practitioners since they have faster movement than taichi.
You guys, he's not saying MAKING the big bigger, he's saying that you MOVE the back as one. This is one of the factors in seeing those little guys move around big ones.
not just the back, when u move slowly, you're putting more strain on every muscle , not just the back. Compare holding a dumb bell for 30 mins to holding it for 5 secs, which one puts more strain on your muscle? as simple as that.
sure? what is the purpose of holding the back together? and why is it that only taichi is done slowly? other wushu practitioners are not afraid that they may break their body once they execute their movements too fast?
slowness exceeds speed. you will be able to move faster and more graceful when the time is needed if you start out slow. starting slow keeps your technique, posture and balance in perfect harmony. when you learned how to walk you didnt start by running did you? when you learn anything, it is better to start slower. you wouldnt try to learn quantum physics before algebra right? when all is in harmony, power and speed are optimized. a punch with bad technique is weak..good technique is power.
the way is full of clapping and fallings

who ever made this is a sheep. the real reason u do it slow is so that you can maintain a meditative state while moving.
We got to find the vocalist here give him talking lessons and then slap some sense into him

being able to move the body as one, and consciously as one, is a major goal of taichi.
